Hi first time poster. I'm pretty handy with firesticks but a mate has given me this mxq box. Problem I'm having is it's not picking up date and time?
Tried use network time/date but no joy.
It's a arm cortex-a5
Model MQX_DZ (m201C_dz_mxq)
Manufacturer MBX
Board m201C_dz_mxq
Display KOT49H.20151012.V0823 test keys
Android 4.4.2
Kernel version 3.10.33(20150803.V0823)
Am I right in thinking it's a firmware issue? Tried looking but there's that many.
And if so does anyone have a link to where to get the correct one from please?
Cheers

I recently purchased a Chinese Origin 7 inch Tablet PC model identification DFP 7002A build October 2012 it has been very good value for money and worked well while in Thailand as a tablet and also a mobile phone on the DTAC network . Since returning to the UK I found that the tablet thought it was still in Thailand and refused to allow the new UK SIM to connect to the mobile network. I concluded after changing many settings and all the usual reboots etc that a software problem was the cause. I believe the android os on these Chinese units may not be all as genuine as they should be and adapted to suit themselves. However, not to be out done I thought that rooting and dealing with the ROM would be best thing to start with for further investigations. For the information to others and hopefully of some help I am writing about my progress so far and also to make complement to the developer who made it possible to root this tablet successfully and with out any bother. Making sure my tablet was usb connected to my main PC and also debug mode was on. Research on XDA led me to Bin4ry and his most helpful post, you can find that for your self and he has developed a rooting program I found a program called Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v15.7z - I believe he has a further newer version now available. I ran this program carefully following all as his instructions and found that it did work. Now with Titanium Backup Pro I have backed up all my ROM and can start to delve into the OS and hopefully fix or replace the offending files that have caused me the problems. A thank you should be made to the many developers who are working and sharing their knowledge for the benefit of others in the community.
try to install android system info and find out which cpu is used like allwinner a10/10 or rockchip or vimicro then find out suitable rom.

I'm new to this site and I'm not sure this is where to post, but I just got a new MID tablet for Christmas and I think I accidentally wiped my /system using ADB. Now whenever I turn my tablet on it just sits at boot logo with little light shimmering around it. I've tried hard reset and everything. Please, if anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it.

I used to have a WM8650 and had to restore it with a method almost identical to this. Download this firmware http://www.agptek.com/download/V775(8850)-Update.rar here and extract it to an SD card that has been formatted. Pop the SD card into tablet and power on. It "should" go ahead and install the firmware. If not we might have to look for another firmware. Hope that helps

It seems there are many clones for this particular tablet so not all the stock firmwares will work

You also seem to have a test build of key lime pie. This is definitely strange.

Did you buy this from Google or your carrier? What version are you running?

@Neurotica i got it from one of the wireless stores around my area he was selling them for cheap so i took a bite on it but any methods of trying to root it or getting my pc to read it is not working any suggestions?
@MakoVince is there somthing i could do with it as far as rooting it and changing the ROM? im new to Android devices so im not sure what to do with this phone
I'd suggest that you try to update your device while it is still stock. Sideload the updates until you read KitKat.

0. Unlock the bootloader
1. Install CWM or TWRP via fastboot
2. Back up the pre-release software and save it on your computer
3. Install 4.4.2 factory image via fastboot to 'fix' your device
4. Share the backup you made, because it's interesting

I agree. Definitely the watch not holding a signal if two high end phones won't keep it held.

Same story here. Bought a Moto G yesterday, noticed it's on 4.3 Jelly Bean, so I tried to update it, but it displayed the Wi-Fi error.
Took it back to the shop, got a new phone to make sure it's not a hardware problem, but it wasn't.
So here I am, with 4.3, clueless. Fun...
Relax guys, the issue is already reported on the official moto forums. They are aware of the issue and will fix it next week or so. (i gues). This isn't a hardware issue, it's an issue with the moto services.
So please calm your t*ts and relax.
Do you have a link to that please ?
I did Google and found forum.Motorola and went to moto g, if that is where you mean ? Found nothing there that Motorola reaponded to though, or acknowledged a server issue. Perhaps it is possible servers are down to setup 4.4.3 seeing as nexus 5 will be getting it next week.
Well mine got fixed. It works ok now.

Mine too, it is back up
What's with all the speculation it's just server issues. Plus Google hasn't even released 4.4.3 so how the heck do you propose moto is doing it?
