Hi,
I upgraded my Moto G 2015 (16GB) to Marshmallow and now I can't swith between the main camera (rear) and the front camera - aka the front camera is not working. Usually, in the motorola camera app there was an icon on the lower left side to switch between cameras. This icon doesn't exist anylonger.
My system version: 24.41.33.osprey_reteu_2gb.reteu.en.EU retgb.
I already tried the following:
1. alternative camera APP (Google Camera):
=> can't switch between cameras either
2. cleared the Cache of the motorola camera App
=> no change, still not working
3. factory reset
=> no change, still not working
I suppose this is a software problem. I already read about it in the comments in a blog (sorry, can't post the url of the blog here, the article is called "Top 5 problems of Android Marshmallow update for Moto G 2015 and solutions").
Do you know this problem? Do you have the identifical Moto G and Marshmallow Version and can switch between cameras?
Any suggestions on how to solve this issues?
I contacted Motorola Support but they weren't aware of this issue, yet.
Thanks in advance,
Alexander

Hello,
I installed the developer preview as soon as it came out. Today I noticed my front facing camera is not working. It was working 3 days ago. In the stock camera app, the button to switch to front facing is not present. I installed a couple of other apps and there is no option for the front facing camera there too. So I tried to wipe the stock camera app's data. After that, the app does not start at all, it just crashes. 3rd party apps still work, but just for the rear camera.
I tried to reflash the system image for android m, but still, the problem persists. I happen to have a spare front facing camera from another broken nexus 5 (RIP old friend), and I still have this issue. Anyone got any ideas?
Hi:
I have a Moto G and I was using Skype without problems but today I have seen that my fornt camera didn't work on Skype neither in camera application. There is not the icon to change to the front camera.
It could be a software or a hardware problem?
Any ideas?
I'm not sure but I thing it's a hardware issue.
Hi ,
I have a Honor 6 plus running on EMUI 3.1 Lollipop 5.1.1 Model PE-TL 10.
I recently upgraded to the above from 4.2.2 because I had an issue on 4.2.2 as the contacts kept vanishing suddenly.
Now on 5.1.1 the default camera app - the back camera wont work on camera or wide aperture mode but works fine on video mode. In camera or wide aperture mode I get a black screen and none of the buttons work - only the settings button works and that too after a delayed time. I am not able to understand the problem. The front camera works fine on the default app.
I have installed Google camera and that works fine but as you know the default app is awesome.
I sent the phone for the service center also and they were not able to figure out the problem. I hope you can help me.
Is there a way I can maintain the 5.1.1 lollipop version but change the camera app to the 4.2.2 version or is there another solution to this problem.
Appreciate your help.
Cheers
Kunal
