Wifi Disconnects When Asleep [OnHub] - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note5

Ok so this didn't start happening until today when I purchased the Google Tp-Link OnHub router, my wifi disconnects when the phone sleeps. I have already gone through the normal Settings>Wifi>More>Advanced and made sure that the "keep wifi on during sleep" is set to always.
Tried a few apps that supposedly force the wifi to stay on and nothing. Tried clearing my cache and nothing.
I'm rooted on Darthstalker ROM v6 and SkyHigh kernel v4.4.1.
Could it possibly be a kernel issue? Is the OnHub seeing my phone asleep and taking the Wifi away?

[Q] Stock JB Non Root Relay Wifi issues

Ive been having major issues with my wifi on a stock non rooted JB stock firmware Relay.
Wifi was working fine for the longest time. Recently my wpa2 home network wont connect. I keep seeing "wifi authentication error" every time I try to connect. I did a cache wipe, and when I do, it works for a day or so and then goes back to the same issue
Now Im having problems getting any data from wifi, wether its an open network or WPA. It just shows that its connected, the little arrows on the signal meter light up but no data actually gets transferred.
I did a battery pull and it seemed to fix it temporarily, but seems like the issue comes back
Any help??

38R Wi-fi connection issue

Ever since my phone got the XNPH38R update I've been having an issue with wi-fi
If I connect to wifi it works fine but as soon as I lose the wifi signal it can't seem to reconnect to the same wifi without rebooting the phone. Its especially annoying when I walk to get the mail or come home from anywhere.
I've tried manually connecting to the wifi after being disconnected in the android wifi settings menu but it doesn't connect until I reboot my phone.
I'm running the 64GB oneplus one on t-mobile in the usa.
Any suggestions?

I've had this issue on CM, except it'd work when I manually connected back to the wifi - I believe it's an issue when the phone goes to sleep it's failing to resume wifi connections.
The only thing I could suggest is try downgrading back down, or doing a clean re-install, and reporting this issue on CM's jira, so they can fix it.

I'm on OMNI now, so I can't really help you out, but do try unticking that 'wifi optimization' option, or perhaps using a tasker profile to turn off and on wifi whenever the screen display turns off and on respectively (at the trade off of loosing connection, so you won't be able to download stuff while the phone's off).
i have the same problem..

WiFi Won't Stay On on Lollipop

I've encountered a weird issue in every Lollipop ROM that I've tried, where when I got to sleep with WiFi on, I will wake up the next morning and the WiFi will have disconnected. It will still be on, but the network I had connected to not work unless I toggle WiFi off and then back on. It's happened on 3 different ROMs on 3 different builds. Am I doing something wrong?

I'm not sure if this is the issue but have you tried going to your wifi setting-->advanced-->keep Wi-Fi on during sleep and change it to always?

Yeah, I did, thanks but it was already ticked.
You are not alone. I am having the exact same problem. The wifi doesn't disconnect, it just stops working. If i disable wifi and re-enable again it works just fine but only for half an hour ish.
Quite annoying for a whatsapp / fb messenger user .
Considering reverting back to KK backup until this is fixed :'(

WiFi Connection Failure

Hi.
I only have one wifi network around atm. My N5 was working fine with it, and yesterday it started disconnecting from it.
Right now, when I try to connect, it connects for 3 or 4 seconds (it gets an IP address and actually connects to the Internet) before jumping back to data connection. When entering the Wireless menu on my phone it says "WiFi Connection Failure".
I thought I might have tweaked something I shouldn't (since also yesterday I installed Franco kernel and App Ops), so I went back to stock (using the Nexus Toolkit) and in the process I updated to the newest 5.1 release (I had LMY47D version and upgraded to LMY47I).
It didn't help. I also tried changing the router channel and security type to no avail.
Of course, I also tried to turn airplane mode on/off and forgetting network. And I just downgraded to LMY47D to see if that was the problem. But it didn't fix it.
I'm attaching the logcat. I hope I did it properly.
Any suggestions? Thanks!
UPDATE: I noticed it works in Safe Mode. I'll try to find which app is causing it.
I'm having exactly the same problem.
Updated to 5.1, after a run with Nike+ and Runkeeper, with GPS and Cellular Data on, battery drained and phone switched off. After a recharge, this problem emerged, different ROMs, different stock versions, different kernels. Nothing seems to make wi-fi work again.

Help with wifi bug and hotspot woes

I have a sprint galaxy S6 that I rooted years ago with the pingpong root. So its on the stock rom and never updated passed 5.0.2 I believe. I haven't done much with the root except enjoy the use of the hotspot that sprint tries so hard to deny users. However lately I've been having problems. The build in hotspot no longer works, and I suspect its some stealth update from sprint. It'll turn in without issues, but then I'll watch my mobile data disappear. The 4G blinks off, then it tries 3g, then nothing, then 4g, 3g, nothing, etc... Turn the hotspot off and everything returns to normal.
Fine. I'll download "Wifi Tether Router" and use that. However, every 5-15 mins my laptop loses connection and the hotspot won't show up in the list of networks despite it still running. What I suspect happening is my wifi is quickly turning on and off, disrupting the hotspot. Now, after getting the phone and going through all the settings, I turned off connection optimizer and unchecked the allow scanning. However every once in awhile while using the phone, if I happened to have the drop down menu down.. I'd notice the wifi quickly cycle on then off. It never affected anything I did so I left it be. Now when using the tether app, I rechecked all my settings, even turning off "keep wifi on while asleep" and checked the dev settings to make sure the wifi scanning/roaming was off. I am completely lost. Are there any settings I'm missing? Is there anything I can do with root to stop wifi from turning itself on without user interaction?
Or, is there any way to fix my built in hotspot? I have a new laptop and now have more use for this function.
Thanks guys.
bump
