XDA The Cheater: Making Money from our Hardwork - Android Apps and Games

Hello everybody today I want share something with you.
Don't you think how hard a developer works to create an app or a mod. How much efforts and time they put in their work. But the only source of money for them is donations. And could think how much donations they get, barely to buy two or three coffee. Moreover XDA do not let the developers to use <mod snip> links.
The XDA creators are getting rich and rich by showing ads on our works and they do not let us show ads. Of you do not believe you can Google XDA worth.
Hope this sends a message to take our rights.

Great Work to XDA Developers ^_^

If anyone is in development to earn money, I suggest getting a paid job Developing somewhere in that case.
And here's one of the rules members agree to when registering an account,
13. Advertising and Income Generation
Commercial advertising, advertising referral links, pay-per-click links and other income generating methods are forbidden. Do not use XDA-Developers as a means to make money.

If that is not ok with anyone, they should not have completed their registration.
And one other note, do you maintain servers with 7 million users on them, who can register for free?

Treated unfairly at xda

egzthunder1 said:
Dear ardchoille,
You have received an infraction at xda-developers.
Reason: Commercial Links in Signature/Profile/Post
-------
Linking to sites with paid work is not allowed under XDA rules.
-------
This infraction is worth 3 point(s) and may result in restricted access until it expires. Serious infractions will never expire.
All the best,
xda-developers

The mods removed my "make a request link" in my signature.. I guess I'm no longer allowed to do custom artwork for the community. First they tell me that I can't link to my paid themes, but they don't do anything to people linking to paid apps. Now I get an infraction for having a "donate" links in my signature but tons of others are allowed to do this.
Why are these moderators singling me out for punishment when I'm doing the same things others are doing? Is this how we want our xda community managed?
1st off. I will come right out and say it.
NO ONE, I mean no one from the Team Whiskey Development Team sent in a complaint. We all appreciate everything you do for our team, so why would we do that.
2nd, Someone who says they are from Team Whiskey, that isn't the following:
Sombionix, ViralBlack, myself (Krylon360), DesignGears, Morfic, ardchoille, and SkOrPn; are lying.
And as far as the infraction, you may as well give EVERYONE who has a link in their sig that has Pay For stuff on that site a infraction, starting with me. Why, because we have a Donator's section.
Enjoy.
Krylon360 off XDA.
If you really are the only one treated this way, looks more like personal vendetta instead of forum moderation.
They have done this to me also, which i think it really stupid,
all i did was provide invites to a certain site, not post the link of the site here,so they banned me for 7 days, maybe those ppl need a life
and also new mods are allowed to break the rules but if membes do they get a warning
Since the OP has been posting links to paid/commercial software it falls under rules 7, 8 and 11 of the Forum rules
So this infraction was giving in full compliance with the rules.
If there are (as implied) other users who link to software with the intent to sell, please report them so we can evaluate and take the necessary actions.
If you think you are treated unfairly, please contact one of the board Admins, present your case in a rational matter and they will look into it.
Opening a thread isn't a good way to handle it.
Regards,
EquinoXe
Ok, since you want to play like that, I am more than happy to explain my (and other mod's actions) in public.

If it isn't clear enough, you are clearly selling your work on XDA. Your signature was modified to remove the link to your website where you are selling the themes (in case you don't see any issue with that, this is known as advertising)
Just as my pm as well as pulser_g2's pm, we both quoted the rules that you are breaking by doing this. In case you missed them, here they are:
7. Do not spam.
If you wish to advertise a product, contact us we provide ads. But do not post it in the forums, it will be removed and you're likely to receive a ban.
You are however allowed to sell used goods like your own device, parts of your device or accessories for your device in the marketplace forum, please read the rules there before posting. (This rule includes signatures, if you use a signature it will appear in your post)

11. Don’t post with the intent on selling something.
As an elaboration to rule number 7, don’t use XDA to advertise your product or service. If you are the proprietor of a for-pay product or service, you may use XDA to get feedback, provide beta access, or offer support on the product, but you may not make any posts with the primary intent of selling. This includes posting press releases, announcements, or links to downloads for trial software; the only exception to this is when you’re posting an exclusive release to XDA. Off-site downloads are permitted as long as the site does not require a fee or mandatory registration to access the content.

@Krylon,
Your work and Team Whiskey's is fully featured on XDA and free of charge to members. Donations are only prohibited when they are asked up front as per Rule #8
8. Donations.
We appreciate all donations to xda-developers.com, it keeps our forum online and well maintained. As a user you're allowed to ask for donations in your signature as a thank you for your hard work. However donations up front are not allowed, this forum is about sharing, not about getting paid to do something, that's what your job is for.

There is nothing wrong with having Donate links in your signatures. Asking for donations in lieu of a service, product, etc is no longer a donation as is called selling.
So, before you all jump in trying to defend him, make sure that you read the rules first. Plain and simple. I am not acting on a vendetta (hell, I don't even know him). He is selling his work on XDA and that is against the rules. No ifs, no buts.
If you are all so hellbent on not reading the rules, you have a moderator among your ranks. Ask him and he will tell you the same exact thing I just did.
Per forum rule 11:
As such, having threads open for the sole purpose of showcasing a theme requiring payment (I call this selling, but this could also be classified as requiring a donation up-front) is not acceptable.
Likewise with linking to these threads off-site, as that is advertising of your paid product.
Users are free to have a donation link in their signature or (recently added) button above the user profile. You are not allowed to require donations for access to work (selling), or offer to do work in exchange for donations (see end of rule 8 regarding up-front donations).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Finally, on an unrelated note, posting invitations or offer of invitations, to sites engaging in the distribution of warez is not permitted on XDA, and re-adding the offer to a signature isn't acceptable behaviour. Rules 6 and 9 cover this.

Jeez...
First of, you were giving invites to D*******d, which is a warez site (one of the largest torrent trackers on the web). So, right there you broke Rule 6
6. Do not post warez.
If a piece of software requires you to pay to use it, either pay or find your cracks and serials somewhere else. We do not accept warez nor do we permit any member to promote or describe ways in which Warez, cracks, serial codes or other means of avoiding payment, can be obtained.

You were told once to remove the links in your siggy and since you didn't comply, these were removed for you. A few days later, we found out that you had placed these links again, so you got banned for it.
The "mod" breaking the rules that you are describing here was reprimanded for it. In case you guys are wondering, this is for posting an eBay link in a MP thread, which is not allowed. The link was removed and a warning was issued to him.

You didn't make the app.
You didn't even link the app.
You're posting just to get money/credits/points or whatever is is you're trying to get by using your referral code.
Spam.
Post like these aren't allowed.
You posted in the wrong section.
Useless app that doesn't really credit you anything and if it does it takes a million views of a video or downloading useless apps or signing up for spam email.
Had enough reasons or do you need more?
Don't post this crap.

[Controversial] How not to be detected cryptojacking

I'm planning on releasing a game for iOS and Android. I've got 2 options - either annoy users with ads every 2 minutes and losing profit when they turn off wifi/use adblock OR giving them option to "pay" me using their phone as cryptomining device. The plan was to mine mainly when device is charging and not overheated, so user won't notice any battery drain or speed issues.
It was shame to find out that any form of cryptomining on users devices is forbidden by both main stores. Does anybody know of a way to not being found out by any of these stores?
Will Play Protect (and whatever Apple uses) detect it or does detection depend on users reports only?
Thanks
PS: Only due to existence of other controversial topics as "password bypassing" or sharing cracked code I am daring to post such a topic here.
BTW, that's illegal. So post again so you can get banned.

Please can you refer to something, that says it is illegal, and in which cases? I doubt it is illegal when the user agrees to using it.
And as I said, it wouldn't be the only illegal content here, would it?
Kind Regards,
Me

Are you kidding?! You cannot inject malware to jack someone's smartphone and use it to mine. Not to mention the shear stupidity which you will not even get pennies. You understand that it's called theft correct? It's a clear violation of the electronics communication privacy act, the computer fraud and abuse act, and the children's online privacy protection act. Then there are numerous state laws it violates. Anyone seen supporting this, will also be liable to be held responsible. This is disgusting.

Hello, I'm looking to start a smartphone resale business, and I was wondering if you could suggest Windows-based professional paid tools for carrier unlocking Samsung phones . I intend to sell Samsungs starting from the s8 up to 20 as well as the majority of the A series, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.ooh and none of the devices will be stolen or what we buy them directly from carrier auctions through bstock.

Welcome to XDA. I hope you get always the advices you require.
However, please be aware that we don't accept any links to paid tools, software or services on XDA. Unless you already did, I suggest you read the XDA Forum Rules, to which you agreed to adhere when you registered minutes ago. Here's an excerpt:
