[solved] - General Questions and Answers

I solved the problem I was having. This thread can be deleted / devoured / forgotten.

I found this post after searching for information on enabling SDcard write access in Lollipop. I was happy to see "solved" at the top -- but unfortunately, the original post was edited and deleted and no information on the solution was posted. I'll have to search further, I guess ...

Threads don't get deleted, that isn't how it works. Next time instead of editing everything out of your post, just add whatever information fixed your problem for you. That's the whole point of having a q&a section, so the next person who has the same problem can find your thread and fix it easily.

[Completed] Inaccessible files after rom change

Hello guys! I'm in a bit of an odd situation here.
What is happening is that my Huawei Ascend Mate 7 has files, which are physically written in the internal storage, but with no way to access them.
Here's the picture: (can't post links...)

Here you can see that the disk usage analyzer detects those files, but when listing all files, it doesn't show them... causing the results to not add up.
Here's what caused it:
I was flashing an unofficial CM11 (the first one available for the AM7) that seemingly created a different partition for data storage, instead of using the one that the stock rom was using before. I moved my files there, but decided to restore my backup of the stock rom. But that cut access to that new partition completely, though the files themselves weren't deleted.
If anyone has a clue on how I can get access back to these files, input is greatly appreciated!

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
Sorry to hear about your trouble but fortunately there is an XDA area dedicated to the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 at http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-7 which would be a good starting place. I suggest you post your question with all relevant details in the friendly Q&A forum there at http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-7/help where the experts familiar with your device will be best able to guide you.
Good luck!

[Completed] com.android.googlequicksearchbox is present 86 times in my /data/app folder

Hi all, I tried to search high and low for this bug on the internet but couldn't find anyone talking about it.
I found my phone at 0 free space and started looking into it, the various space analyzer showed that system data were using 9+GB out of nowhere, so I started hunting with the terminal and I found this in my /app/data folder (see https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BxprUtVGpxnQNG1GR2YtOFhfWUY0RDVNczM2U1VjMjR1ZDc4)
I have no idea how to fix it (without another factory reset): if somebody had already had this issue, please, let me know how to fix it, it never happened to me in the android history.

[INFO] [QMV7B] [ELLIPSIS 7] questions

[INFO] [QMV7B] [ELLIPSIS 7]
1. My apologies if this thread is in the wrong forum.
2.Not sure if my thread title is OK.
3. Am I allowed to post my link?
4.This site looks different and I can not seem find my answer.
Hi everyone, long time viewer first time poster in need of help. I recently deleted my system apk due to bad judgment, please don't judge. I can no longer access my system settings and with that the package installer no longer works. My tablet has been rooted, for a bit. I used the (kingo root) successfully.I do not have back up, I did find and download the apk sys files from a upper mod and now I need to enable via command to change the setting to allow installation of unknown sources .I do not know how to do that,. I am guessing that maybe that will FIX IT (crossing fingers). Any of the more experienced users know how to assist? I would love to have the stock rom, can't find it. Maybe there is a different method to do a complete restore that has all the files. My apologies if this is redundant request.
oh, I have already tried the hard factory reset and the system setting is still missing. I can't return, No warranty
Thanks in advance, and I can now stop the ugly crying.
I have the QMV7B ELLIPSIS7 4..2.2 rooted via KingoRoot.
thanks to (?) can't find your name.f for the link for system files I have.
I have a qr code on my photo albuma and my profile pic for the qmv7b system APK.

OP 6 stuck with no IMEI/MEID/BASEBAND/MAC address

Hi,
My OP6 is stuck and keeps restarting. I have flashed all stock roms via MSMtool from hydrogen OS to Oxygen OS 10.3.5. Even tried fastboot rom flashing with no luck.
Flashed stock OS via twrp still nothing.
I do have a backup of my EFS partition but flashing that via fastboot/terminal makes no difference in any stock OS.
I have searched every topic related to this particular error but didn't find any fix yet so was forced to create a new thread.
Need urgent help, it has been 3 months now and nothing worked. Few times my phone did boot properly with IMEI and other details but after few days same error( Don't remember what I did which fixed earlier)
Also, I did visit the repair shop but they didn't find any motherboard or IC damage whatsoever.
Experts/Mods need your help.
