Updated yesterday, & my work email was just gone. I went to add the Exchange account back in, & the option wasn't even there. I know that Google had removed the stock email app in favor of using GMail, but I can use via GMail just fine on my Nexus 5X just fine.
Did NVIDIA officially drop the support for Exchange accounts? I saw something in my searches related to Exchange contacts that was fixed in 6.0.1 - am I missing the account option because the Shield is just on 6.0?
Try installing this: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...-services-5-0-106634657-android-apk-download/
That did it. Thanks. Still doesn't explain why NVIDIA left it out....

For whatever reason, after flashing 3.1, Google Talk doesn't work for either of my Apps accounts. It shows me as signed in in the app, but doesn't pull down my contact list or actually send messages. My Gmail account is just fine, tried deleting the accounts in question and no dice.
I am having the same issue with the Motorola Xoom. I am also running 3.1 and have 3 accounts. Anyone else having the same problem?
I posted a bug report here:
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=17252&colspec=ID%20Type%20Status%20Owner%20Summary%20Stars
Mine shows my contact list but doesnt show any messages recently sent since I flashed to 3.1. Also the status shows everyone offline but on my phone it shows the correct availability,,,,mmmmmm weird

Just to be a bit more specific, one account is a regular GMAIL account, and the other 2 are Google Apps Accounts, on separate domains.

I have one Gmail and one Google Apps account. Works fine, Gmail widget haven't disappeared. What about yours? Was your domain upgraded?

Switched syncing on?
Same problem, not on 3.1
I started experiencing this problem on Saturday.
I'm running Prime 1.3r2 with netformer 1.3 NOT 3.1
I have 3 google apps accounts and 2 traditional gmails. All working as intended until Saturday evening. Now only the first account I sign in to works until I do a reboot. The rest incorrectly show status and fail to send messages. During some testing last night my friends we're receiving test messages from a different account on my list regardless of it was signed in or not.
complete wipe and reload (not restore) did not fix the problem, leading me to believe it's on the google side maybe.
This isn't directly a Xoom/3.1 issue, but it does impact it. I have a stock 3g Xoom running 3.1. My primary Google account is not @gmail.com, but my private domain (also not a Google Apps account.) This works fine with 3.x, my market and apps are tied to it, and with the advent of Google+, my contacts now work even though it's not a Gmail account.
Just got a new Sprint Photon 4G phone running 2.3/Gingerbread. When I try and register my Google account, it insists it be a @gmail.com account. So far, I haven't found a way to connect it to my existing Google account/Marketplace.
Any suggestions on how to resolve this, without losing everything (purchased apps, Google+ registration, Google Talk registration, Xoom configuration, ...) associated with my existing account?
Thanks for any pointers/suggestions!
eric
Heard back from Google - it's an issue with the version of Market built into 2.3. Later builds (like what is in honeycomb) don't have the restriction.
For anyone having the same issue, on my 2.3 device, I went ahead and created a gmail account for my existing Google account, and nothing seems to have blown up. The Xoom still sees the market and everything else correctly with my non @gmail.com address, and the 2.3 phone also sees everything, using the new gmail.com address.

I used to be able to choose which email I wanted to send from in the Android Gmail app. When they updated it to 4.2.1, it would usually not stick and would end up sending it from the default email address instead. I was able to uninstall all updates and regain the ability. BUT, then my phone got the OTA update to Android 4.1.2, and now I can't go back any earlier than 4.2.1 for Gmail. The Gmail update that came out recently (4.3?) doesn't work either. Even when an email is sent to a "secondary" email address, when I reply it goes from the default email address! Any ideas how to fix this? Am I the only one with this problem?
Trying to get my Exchange account to sync but it's not an option within Gmail like it is on my N5 running Lollipop. I've tried sideloading the newest Mail and Exchange Services apks but that didn't work, I ended up with 2 Email/Exchange Services apps. I ended up factory resetting the OPO but I still can't add Exchange within Gmail.
Both Email and Exchange Services are at rev 4.4.4-5fa8c79c0b, Gmail is current at rev 5.X I've read that possibly uninstalling updates in Gmail, then disabling Exchange Services rev 4.4.4-X, then updating Gmail, then sideloading the new Exchange Services is the way to go. Can anyone confirm this?
Also it's been long enough, why after a factory reset did Email and Exchange Services not automatically update to the latest versions on their own? Is it that they are part of OPO Gapps and they will only upgrade when Lollipop is available?
I have also sideloaded the latest Google Play Services apk in the hopes that that would trigger the update, no such luck.
Thanks,
RCook
Answering my own question in case it helps someone out.
Settings > Apps > Uninstall Gmail updates reverting it back to rev 4.X
Settings > Apps > Disable Exchange Services, in my case it was rev 4.4.4-X. I also Force Stopped it for good measure.
Play Store, though sideloading an APK would work, update Gmail back to rev 5.X
Sideload Exchange Services rev 6.5X
Sideload Email app rev 7.X
Open Email get the screen telling you that Email is now rolled into Gmail
Open Gmail and add Exchange account
That was far more work than it should have been.
Lol good job figuring it out and good to know for the future

Running Cyanogenmod 13 24 May Nightly on a Nexus6.
Have not had any previous problems with calendar, contact and email sync until now.
Calendar, contacts and email was syncing fine. Until I noticed that when I added a calendar item in the phone it does not sync to Exchange. The other way around works fine. From Exchange to the mobile.
I have removed the device in Exchange, cleared the Exchange profile on the phone, added it again.
Calendar sync still not working ok.
Did a full wipe of the device installed latest Nightly and Gapps stock and tried again. Same problem but now I also get “Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly”
......
Same issue here with a few Nexus devices on stock 6.0.1. The problem seems to be the updated Exchange Services that came from the Play Store.
They are investigating the issue. Search for the thread on google support forums: Exchange-Service App don't sync
