LS996 Authentication fail #9 help - LG G Flex 2

So I really messed up and deleted too much bloat without a system.img backup on the internal memory.
I can't find any .kdz's or .tot's for my device.
I have tried to restore function in the "LG mobile support tool" but it just restarts my phone a few times in Download Mode and then spews out "Check out the model and serial number."
Is there any way to push the system.img to my phones internal memory and then use adb with dd command to flash it?
Or perhaps use adb dd with system.img on external SD?
Thank you

No sd card from download.
Check in rooting process some flex 2 that have the same command, same offsets and you can try with a kdz for this device, when you boot you may have lost your imei, but if you have luck, you not.
If you have signal, you have a flex back again.
Try some h955 with same internal storage and same baseband...
You can try any, anyone works, except for att version that have antirollback, so if you have no signal but have the imei, you need someone that send you modem.img from ls996, and all will be ok

I'm sorry, I'm mostly confused here because of the language barrier between us, but what you are saying is I can take a .kdz from an h955 phone and flash it safely on my ls996? But what do you mean when you say same internal storage and baseband? And what "same commands, same offsets?"
I was just under the impression that in any case flashing one device with the firmware of another meant a hard brick.

No sr, my h950 have h955 ar firmware with no problems, the only problem thay may ocurs is imei lost.
You need to check the root process, the manual mode, it have a dd command, with seek and count parameters.. If you find one flex2 that uses the same seek and count, its very possible that you dont loose your imei in the crossflash.
So intall that kdz, your phone must boot.
Ls996 does not have antirollback as I know,

Well unfortunately (according to this thread that I followed to root my phone http://forum.xda-developers.com/g-flex2/development/lg-g-flex-2-ls996-zv6-sprint-5-1-1-t3169212) no other variant has the same seek and count as my LS996...

Well, phone is lost with no tot or kdz, you can try with any 5.1.1 image.
If I were you I would try with any h955, with the same storage capacity and similar baseband.
Flash the kdz, and then recover your imei if you lost it

I've never heard of this before and it seems extreme that you could lose IMEI number just by flashing a custom ROM. What method did you use?
I would have assumed fastboot flashing stock firmware should solve this.

Hi Sorry for late reply but I lost internet connection on Saturday morning.
When I have been doing some stuff in CWM recovery, had system and data partition mounted.
Then done rm -R * in root dir.
At this point I thought that my current dir is tmp.
After this I lost wifi and IMEI.
I manage to sort out wifi but not IMEI code.
Do you know how to fix this?
Since that I have been re-flashing stock rom and CWM rom but none of them help.
Chris
anyone can help to recover IMEI ?
Thanks
Changing/manually setting the IMEI is illegal afaik. And afaik assisting someone with that is also forbidden here on xda. We used to have a similar problem on the phone I came from, and there was a app which let you backup/restore your IMEI. You need to have a backup in order to restore it so this won't really help you...
This is what I'm talking about: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1591997
Edit.: There actually seems to be a way to manually set it but I'm not sure if it is device-specific.
Sent from my XT1032 using xda app-developers app
You can find your Imei on the back of the phone.
If you google android 4.4 set imei you should find something from technostall which might help you
Good luck
Yes, it's on the battery.

I haven't.
I tried to sole this issues re-flashing with different roms, but after several operations it bricked.
It's totally dead, not charging, in linux I can't see device connected, so i think that is dead.
I bought new one.
Good luck with this problem.

I solved the problem, place to charge the phone, let him take some of the load and flash the original ROM, after that flash CM11, and run perfectmente, I think at first it was because I had done without the SIM, the second time you make with the SIM sunset ...

Yes It Does for most of the devices given you should know the proper method.
Mtk is different. It's not the same thing.
Any news?
Also I think the problem is that the imei is on the phone just not on the OS? (obviously, but...)
Maybe when we all reflashed to the original stock (and countless other stocks) they just didn't have the proper folder to access in order to identify what imei they're assigned?
Because every single time I've tried to manually rewrite the imei to it all the methods I've used are futile. Even the ones specially tailored to the Moto G's hardware SnapDragon - Qualcomm...
restore IMEI by Motorola service?
Same problem for me. I am really interested in some experience about restoring IMEI.
Motorola support phorum owner replied that Motorola service can recover IMEI (not covered by any kind of warranty of course).
I have tried to reflash factory ROM with and without inserted SIM card, but unfortunately no difference.
I have seen looking for solution, that for some people Android system sees IMEI=0, but the IME is still untouched using fastboot mode and "fastboot getvar" CLI command
For me it's empty using the "getvar" command as well.
The official service center in Germany told me that they mustn't repair selfmade imei problems :S
Lost IMEI
You could all try this new method claimed to be working but as I have not lost my IMEI I can't say, please report back if it works for you?

Are you certain this is H950 we´re talking about?
when you hit *#06# do you get our imei #?
check the back of your phone to see model #.
Did you flash the H950PR kdz wiping the phone or did you see your files still in internal sdcard after flashing?
Sometimes a clean install should fix this.

i cant see my imei number too, why?
@Sj12345 can you make an imei backup tool? like the ones autoprime made for the other models when you rooted it made a backup of EFS.
Just asking cause to me it seems the Crossdll to H955 messed with the phones EFS.
Thanks in advance.

Lg G4 hard brick... need help please wiling to donate cash.

Hi everybody..
I'm in desperate need of help. After attempting to root my g4 somehow something went wrong and the phone is completely dead with no sign of life . I know there isn't a way yet to unbrick the g4 but I'm hoping somebody out there is working on it and maybe can help me out.. I'm willing to donate for the help Thank you !
What exactly are your symptoms? Does it not even turn on? Have you tried getting into download mode? How exactly did you try to root it? What were your steps and are you able to identify where you went wrong exactly?

I was trying to gain root access following this method : http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/orig-development/root-tmo-vzw-intl-variants-soon-root-lg-t3164765. everything seemed to go well but after it was complete the phone wouldn't start and it booted only to a message on the LG LOGO with something failed. At that point I was still able to get to download mood so I tried to restore it to stock doing this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/guide-lg-g4-stock-firmware-to-stock-kdz-t3107848. again the process went like it should but at the end the phone went dead with no signs of life, No led light, No vibration, can't turn on to anything and only gets detected on the computer as " qhsusb bulk ". My guess is I used the wrong KDZ files
I would appreciate it if you can help.
It indeed sounds like you have a hard brick, in which case the device can't be brought back to life.
However for chance, and for future reference. Which kdz did you try to flash? Assuming your device is the ATT model, then did you download the Puerto Rico kdz?
Because there is not a KDZ or TOT for the ATT H810 model the Puerto Rico KDZ from Claro will recover an ATT soft brick. These are labeled H810PR.

Maybe you downloaded the wrong img file from the first post? It has to not only match your phone, but ALSO match the version of the firmware you're currently running. That's why this method here is better:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/lg-g4-100-root-success-directives-root-t3180586
Because you just make a backup img of your system partition and then inject root into that and you have a new rooted system partition img file along with your original system partition image file so you can go back to stock if you want some time later. I'm guessing you tried flashing the wrong version of your firmware. Do you know what version you were on? Looks like the only one listed on that thread is version g. I'm on version b, so if I were to have tried that, I would also have had an error when trying to boot. Had you made a backup of your original system partition as mentioned here you should have simply been able to dd it back and you'd be up and running. However now it looks like you've "hard bricked" your phone indeed. Out of curiosity, which KDZ file did you use? What's the file name that downloaded?
It looks like there are some utilities created that can UNBRICK some phones when they get into this state, but it looks like they have had custom scripts written for the partitions of those phones, for example:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERZvlJIC9dE
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/solution-recover-from-hard-bricked-oneplus-one.104943/
Maybe someone familiar with how those apps run could modify that app for unbricking the G4s? Currently however, there doesn't seem to be anything you can currently do to immediately fix your phone. So ... can you get it exchanged or replaced????

Honestly, bring the phone to ATT and tell them it said an update was available, and upon accepting it...the phone ended up in this state. They will most likely exchange it for you.

HELP! H950 ATT backup needed

Hi. I'm lost. I've bricked my freshly purchased H950 because of being in haste to update the firmware to 5.1.1. I've accidentally installed a H955 KDZ over my stock 5.0.1 AT&T H950 firmware. As expected, the device is bricked (everything works except the cell network). I've tried everything, spent about 8 hours with no result. Can't root it as well.
The IMEI and Baseband status is "Unknown" (lost EFS partitions).
Please, if it;s possible, give me an advice how to restore it to its original ATT firmware. I know that ATT hasn't published the TOT file of their firmware. Maybe I could restore it using someone's backed up files?
I'm outside of the US for the next 7 months so I won't be able to return it
Please help me, this is urgent.

Well the good new is that your cell phone works so it is not brick. Cell network probably doesnt work because H955 use different bands than H950. I dont think you will be able to go back to ATT rom because like you mentioned there is no kdz for it. But on the bright side you can try to use the H950PR KDZ to flash your cell. this is totally compatible with the H950 from ATT. You can always wait for the someone more knowledgeable to answer but I am almost sure that it should work.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g-flex2/general/kdz-compatible-att-h950-t3180847
I've installed the h950pr and there the cell network is still not working
In case if i find a person who has a similar device with Att firmware, how can i make a backup of it in order to flash my device?
I've managed to root my semi-bricked H950. But the imei and baseband version are still unknown. What should I do?

Does anybody know how to write IMEI on the H950 without octopus box? Can't do it in QPST, DFS, EFS pro because it sn't recognized as a phone / doesn't answer.
Everything works, I can even make calls, just the imei value is 0.
Finally I did it!!!

Yeah. I used QPST. I had to open cmd, enter "adb shell", then " su", then "echo 1 > /sys/devices/platform/lg_diag_cmd/diag_enable". After that you can backup Nv via QPST.
Im glad you informed yourself and solved your own issue. ?

LG Flex 2 H955 32GB

Hello all
I have bought this device about two weeks ago and i have been exploring the forums
To get the most out of it so here is my story in the first i thought my flex 2 is 32GB 3G Ram but after seeing the forums i knew its possible to have 2G Ram thats not my problem any more my problem is i tryed to flash 5.1.1 and i ended up with 9 GB available storage
What i understood is all H955 is 16GB 2G Ram but not my H955
When i tried to reflash i found that H959 gave me 32GB but without network and says that my device is permanently locked and when i flash H955 i get 9GB with network working
I couldnt find any kdz that supports both 32GB and network together even v10 ones
So my solution is to find kdz supports both correct storage and working network or
Trying to edit either partition table on the H955 varaints kdz or find a way to enable network in H959 variants and i failed to do either and i need your help to solve my issuewith the device i am out of ideas .
Here is another question can i cross flash ls996 kdz and enable gsm network? Does all ls996 have 32GB storage and which one can i enable gsm in ?
do you try a dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p48
check that /dev/block/mmcblk0p48 is yout userdata partition.
ls -l /dev/block/platform/f9824900.sdhci/by-name
if it dont work, you can try to crossflash the modem.
I cannot do it never.
The only way I found to crossflash succesfully is flash any rom for my phone, then overwrite /system
check if in h959 with no data signal you have imei
I did the dd command wont work on H955 kdz
With H959 imei is good but no network
I tryed to flash modems from H955 to H959 results in bootloop
H955 = 16gb storage, 2Giga Ram. There's only an H950 having 32GB/3G Ram. Rather buy an sd card and don't waste your time, brotha

i flashed H955A everything works fine but still the storage is 9 GB
