No keyboard, can't install apps via Es Fe and cant install apps from Google Play. - Honor 6, 6 Plus Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone,
First off im going to say im new to the forums and I'm trying the best I can to provide you all with the clearest explenation of my problem.
So, 2 days ago I rooted my phone, this went all well and pretty easy since im not new to the rooting-thing. So today I wanted to install an app in Google Play but, I got the error code 504. After trying to solve it, which I didn't, I decided to factory reset my phone. I decided this because it was running pretty slow from all the things I installed anyways.
So when it was done I booted up the phone and I saw it had no keyboard what so ever. I could not enter my WIFI code nor could I log into my google play.
I decided to download a keyboard from internet and install it. When trying to install the downloaded keyboard I got a message: "Application not installed".
So what I did was on my pc create a text document with my Email, Google password and wifi password, and copied it to my phone so I could copy and paste it to log in.
After logging in on my Google account, I tried to install a keyboard but, I still got the same error code, "Application can not be installed error code 504".
I really dont know what to do since I can not get any application on my phone.
Is it possible to flash a keyboard? And if yes, how? Can someone make a flashable zip for it?
Thanks in advance,
Stijn van Bussel

Hi
When you root your phone, some time in some model's, it could been cuse to lost some services like Google play and... Try to unroot your phone then test the problem.

[Q] kobo vox: install google market?

hey all,
first post, apologies if this might be in the wrong place.
i've just picked up the kobo vox, and it's awesome, but i can't figure out how to get the android market running. i've got the apk installed, but the device doesn't give me the option to add a google account. the kobo vox explicitly says it supports the android marketplace, so i'm hoping i'm doing something wrong.
thanks!
I'm in the same state. I've looked about and managed to use some of Cyanogen's packages to install a few core stuff like the framework and the market app itself, but trying to run the Market asks me to register a Google account, which always fails saying there was a connection issue. On a further reboot android.process.acore decided to crash every five seconds and I had to reset the device to factory settings.
This kinda sucks because the device is fairly solid, but the default "market" is a joke. I'm already annoyed by the fairly large amount of preinstalled apps (which can't be uninstalled, as usual), but not having proper Market access would probably be a deal killer.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
What about Rooting?
I have run into the same problem. I think that before you can install the full android market we will have to Root the tablet. Has anyone tried the Gingerbreak.apk? Or is there some other way to Root the tablet?

I've tried GingerBreak on my Kobo Vox and it seems to have installed, however I'm not certain the SU access is working properly. When I try repairing permissions in ROM Manager, I get the message "An Error occured trying to run priviledged commands!". It also fails when I try to backup my ROM.
This is honestly the first Android device I've ever owned so I'm not certain that I'm doing everything correctly. I did make sure to allow SuperUser permissions to ROM Manager, but I'm still getting errors. Any help from a Veteran Android user would be appreciated.
Can't get past the Android Login
After rooting and installing Busybox I was able to install the Android Market but every time I try to login the app will not connect to the Market to confirm my ID, it seems to time out. Any Ideas on what I can try?
Turns out my inability to repair permissions was simply due to me not having busybox installed. I can attest that GingerBreak does successfully root the tablet.
I'm hoping I can find a way to install Clockwordmod recovery in order to install the google apps from CM7. I tried simply copying the files into place without success.
So, did you manage to install busybox? What version and where?
Tell me if you manage to install the recovery, the vox don't seem to have one by default.
If we manage to install all the google app and the googleframeworkservice, that would make the tablet a lot better and give the possibility to install the android market.
I was able to install busybox 4.3 /system/xbin. I do not know about a recovery mode but I did manage to put the tablet into "Safe Mode" after it do stock in a loop at bootup but I am not sure how I did it. According to user help you can not update the firmware from the SDcard.
Have you tried to install Clockwordmod?
I managed to install the googleserviceframework, but I need to install some other thing that don't want to install.
I also manage to install youtube (the real one) and it work great, I just can't sign in...
In the accounts & sync settings section, I can create a google account, but It can't communicate with the google server to set up the account, it give me the error:
"Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server."
It's probably cause by some app that I didn't manage to install yet, like "onetimeinitializer", "googlepartnersetup" and some other...
I've managed to install Busybox, but have yet been unsuccessful installing the Google Framework.
I was able to install the Clockwordmod, but I have yet to find a phone or tablet on it's list that is compatible with the Kobo Vox. I'm going to do my research to see if any phones or tablets have similar specs to the Vox and see if that will work. So far I've just been picking at random and trying it.
Try the B & N Nook Color - same CPU, Memory & screen size.
That was my first thought. Unfortunately no luck. With a couple of them I can seem to get them start loading as if they're going into an update but it always errors out. I'm now just systematically going through the list and driving every version.
If you attempt to install a version of Clockwork made for another device, you'll brick it.
Don't forget that after dropping in the files to the various system directories, you also have to set permit permissions properly.
Also, would be good to request a Kobo Vox forum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1301121
If anyone in this thread is actually a developer who knows how to compile and so forth, Koush has a brief guide to porting Clockwork:
http://www.koushikdutta.com/2010/10/porting-clockwork-recovery-to-new.html
Manual Configuration is a must have option. Thanks
wow, pretty lame that the android market seems not to be supported despite it being touted as an official feature
on a side note, has anyone figured out how to change or remove that default dock (without rooting)? it's kind of a pain in the ass.
I've installed a couple dozen different clockwork of recoveries so far and haven't bricked it yet but maybe I should quit while I'm ahead. I'd rather not brick my shiny new Kobo.
Need Kernal Version & Build Number
I have to return my Kobo Vox because the speaker is not working. Under Privacy Settings I have done a Factory Data Reset but I am still showing the Super Icon. Does anyone have a copy of the original firmware or know how to unroot the device?

Official marketing material says apps but doesn't say Android Market. Some media outlets misquoted and wrote Market falsely.

Factory Reset just clears the data partition but doesn't reset the system partition.
Until someone properly compiles a custom recovery or finds a stock reset file, there's no safe way back.

Need help with ICS...play/market won't open

I can't get the play/market to load or open. Additionally if I access via the web and try to download rom manager etc it says it's already on my device.....which I can't find. How can I get the play/market to load and open? I've tried multiple older version. Here are my specifics:
Xoom wifi only (US)
Android Version 4.0.3
Kernel Version 2.6.39.4 Tiamat
Mod Version 1.4.0-XOOM (WiFi)
Build Number IML 77
Please help....my tablet is pretty much only an internet browser at the moment.
another way around your problem
as far as play from google since you have browser you can go directly to market and try reinstalling if from your browser on your tablet. try loading from your browser and if that don't work there are other methods if you search through xda you can find google apps folder and load them on to your sd card and load from there I have learned that it is near imposible to ruin these tablets. hope this helps
Delete the cache of market/play and Google framework services.
Still won't work

I tried this, I still can't load Google play. Ever since acknowledging the change from Google market to play, I've not been able to load my apps page. funny thing is, it will update my apps, though page/app will not load. When I try to access it via the web, it won't load my apps page. Even though I'm logged in, it asks me to log in again, but won't allow me to log in..a script comes up to "touch/click" login, and it does nothing..using dolphin browser HD, I'll try another browser, but think it will get same results. Anyway, I've got a rooted 4.0.4 ICS Xoom.

This has happened to me last week. Basically you get your apps updated because you have enabled market apps auto update. Your issue is with market unable to load or open and sometimes with connection error. Right? Try first rebooting your router and your device.
If so, you have 2 options here only.
First, is your device rooted?
Option 1: create another gmail account and then try to add another google account on your device with the newly created one from settings / accounts and sync. If successful, before going to google play, open youtube app and login with your new account. If ok. Login with old account. Then reboot. Then go to market and open your new account. If ok, login to market using old account. And check. If ok, done. If not, option 2 is the only solution.
Option2: backup your stuff. And fully wipe factory reset your device.

You can also just delete your current Google acct and then re-add it. This works with some of the Google apps errors.
not working
well..I tried option 1. and also to remove my Google accounts then re add them. still doesn't work. I just re flashed 4.04 over 4.03, so I don't want to do a data wipe again, since it was happening before I flashed it last time as well. It seems I can get to Google play from a browser, but when I try to get to my apps from there, it will also not connect. I'm about to just put a mod on like tiamat...dunno yet
now did the wipe, still no work, then loaded EOS ROM, still not working. I can only guess I need to use another gmail account all together
I have the same problem on time with google applications.
Due to differents flash of differents ROM and Google applications
Flash the tablette with the GAPP signe:
http://goo.im/gapps
reboot and no problems
This is getting annoying...
I have done every suggestion here. wiping data, even trying EOS builds and cyanogen mod, clear cache, wipe cache, use another Google account ( I have 2). Google play app will not open. When I go there from my PC, it says app will be installed, whatever the app may be, it is not getting installed to the Xoom, even though I'm logged in. AT first, Google Play would not open, but apps would install on the Xoom when I had auto update enabled..still Google play will not play nice.
I had same issue like you. Unfortunately, the only solution to me was to factory reset my xoom. Flash rom and gapps again.
Be4 that, try rebooting your router...

[Q] Brand New 4.0 ICS Coby Tablet Issue!!! HELP!!!

So yesterday i received a gift of the the brand new Coby Kyros MID9742-8, which I was shocked to see came stock with ICS... Just like many other Kyros tablets though it doesnt have access to the google market (google play).. So I downloaded a google play.apk and installed it... But everytime i click the app it opens and closes automatically... Then i read to delete that apk and install the google services framework first.. then reinstall the vending apk (google play apk).. I found a google serivces apk but everytime i try installing it, it says installation fails... Any ideas XDA... Becuz I really want android market, this Get Jar market it came with sucks...
same problem
I have the same problem would use cm 7 but that would be downgrading so I'm just patiently waiting for a reply
APPS
Goto 1mobile.com and download the app and install. I have been able to get the google play apps I want there. Also, you can get apps for the Amazon Store, just have the app emailed to your tablet.
Ok I've did the amazon store thing which works good. But I also now found another way which works good if u have a existing android phone... just download "app backup and restore" to ur phone... then download what ever apps u want to ur phone... then on ur phone back up the apps u want to transfer to ur tablet. Then plug ur phone and tablet into ur pc.. next find the app backup and restore folder on ur phone then just copy the apks to ur tablet. Then go to file explorer app on ur tablet and find the apks then install them... I put instagram, chase mobile, temple run, and a bunch of other apps from the google market on my coby tablet this way and it works...... my new problem is getting flash to work on it now... any suggestions
Root the sucker
I just found instructions here...I'll let you know how it goes.
http://androidforums.com/4205223-post14.html
No luck with those, I'm getting hung up on Step 7. Trying the amazon store work around.
saving same problem, getting hung up on #7
i've tried all the past versions of superoneclick since 2.2. can anyone help?
I get the apps from 1mobile (which seems to have more of what i need than amazon) but most of them quit because i dont have a google account, I tried to in the options but I can't seem to find a way. I'd really like to get gmail and google music in here and synced up.
Any updates to this? I picked up one of these, and I have do the backup/restore option to get most of my files on it. But still would like to see some sort of rooted/rom for this thing.

[Q] Lt18i problem in Google Play Store.

Hi everyone, i m new here.
I have faced a big problem nw.
First of all, i can't download app from Google Play Store properly. It keeps giving me a message 'XXX could not be downloaded due to an error 927'. For sometimes the download will run but it can't complete the download.
This starts to happen after i have install and run ' Vodafone Market Enabler *ADS* ' from Google Play Store. (Ok i admit that i m stupid to use an app that i even dunno how it works.)
Though i still can access to internet via Facebook or Browser, but i can feel that there is a different compared to before. (Eg. Sometime it will show 'can't connect to internet' when using Facebook and laggy when using Browser)
I have searched everywhere to find the solution and tried everything i can do, but the problem is still there.
Maybe buying a new phone could solve the matter but i really can't afford it.
I m using SE Xperia Arc S
Build number 4.1.B.0587
and it is rooted.
Please help.
Thanks in advance.

Hi, I too have that phone and had the same prob
R u sure you logged in your google account
And no need for that app Vodafone market enabler
Waitin for ur reply
U can private message me ok
Ok, my phone is getting back to normal just now with no reason, or maybe i can say with don't know which is the reason is.
Let post my 'fixing route' below :
1. Run a 'Factory reset data' in Setting w/o Reset SD card. Problem is still there.
2. Update my phone to unroot it. Of course this is useless here.
3. Rooting my phone again. What m i doing... orz
...Starting to find any solution.
4. Clear data in Setting -> App -> Google Play Store(Force stopped), Google Play Services(Force stopped) and Google Services Framework(Force stopped). Remove my google account and add it back. Reboot. Problem is still there.
5. Uninstall updates of Google Play Store and uninstall Google Play Services. Problem is still there.
6. A solution here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20196766&postcount=14 but i don't know the way to find the .cache so i just leave it.
7. Remove the battery and SD card from phone and leave it about 5 seconds, then place in the SD card and the battery. Problem is still there.
8. A solution by boot into recovery mode and clear the cache and dalvic but my phone can't enter recovery mode so i passed it.
9. Run again 'Factory reset data' w/o Reset SD card. It starts to work as i finally can update my Facebook. After that everything goes back to could-not-be-downloaded-due-to-an-error-927 situation again.
10. Again, running 'Factory reset data' and now with 'Reset SD card'(of course important data is backed up). Problem is still there....
11. Frustrated, keep repeating cancel the download and re-download it. It works, Facebook updated and Root Checker installed. Then, once again it failed to download any other things.
12. About an hour pass then try again the '4th route'. But this time i just force stop and clear data of Google Play Store, Google Services Framework. Strange thing, i go to Google Play Store and it shows me 'Server error'. Restart phone. Google Play Store turns back to normal, but still failed to download.
13. Again after an hour, trying to download again, I found everything has going back to normal. Problem solved.
Though the problem was solved now, still i m scared this will happen again as what had happen in 9. and 11.
My apologies on my broken English.

Please Help Me to Side Load Play Store Onto Xelio Tablet

I recently bought a Xelio 9" tablet (Android 4.0.4) and need to get a full version of an app that I've paid for onto it. Seems like the easiest way would be to side load the Play Store onto the tablet and then log into my Google account and recover that app. So, that's where I'm stuck. I downloaded the 'com.android.vending-4.1.10' apk to the SD card and then used ES File Explorer to navigate to it and install it. Seemed to install fine... that was until I attempted to open it and I get an error 'Unfortunately Google Play Store Has Stopped' and I can't get any further. Do I need to copy the apk to the /system/app directory and change permissions or is there something else I should do/try?
The tablet doesn't have GAPPs but it does seem to have Gmail & Maps even though I didn't try to open them yet. Thought that was odd since it wasn't supposed to have any Google apps from the factory but sure 'nough, there they were.
Thanks for the help.

I successfully am using 'com.android.vending-4.0.27.apk' with the same method you described.

On a Xelio tablet? Do I need to root and/or run another ROM? I think I saw something where someone was saying to flash CWM and then CM9 onto it so I was going to look into that next.
I tried 4.0.27 and still no dice.
I am using xelio tab 7" and I rooted and used an app called lucky patcher to install a modded play store. It has no relation to the play store at all plus the play store is installed as a system app and you can choose any version of the store starting from the android market to play store 4.3.10. Also it installs the original stores as well.
Update
It now has the latest play store update as of 5/14/2014.
