Hello guys!
I've recently started having problems with downloading pictures from internet.
When a picture is downloaded, it's saved to my download folder, but is not displayed in my stock gallery app, until I restart my phone. This goes for Chrome and Chrome Beta. It does work good with the stock web browser. Also when trying to open them from the notifications menu (which shows when the image is downloaded), it displays a blank image (as if the file is not available)
It dors work and files are isntantly shown in QuickPic app.
PDF downloads are also a problem. When I open a PDF file in my web browser and hit download, it actually just opens it in my PDF Viewer and does not download it. This goes for the Chrome and Chrome Beta. The download button works fine in Mozilla and Stock Web Browser.
I've tried to troubleshoot myself by deleting .nomedia files, clearing data from Gallery, Media Storage, Reinstalling chrome, but nothing helps.
Edit: I'm using LG G4 and a custom ROM Genisys 3.7
Thanks for any help

Hey all,
I've encountered this problem with downloading attachments on my Transformer. My brother sent me some ebooks to read via kindle and when I go into my gmail, open up the email, and attempt to download the ebooks (.mobi format), it seems that there is no option to download. I also have set the option to auto download recent attachments through wifi, and still no go.
It just gives me the "Sorry, no application found to view this attachment." when I press Info. Now, I know I could just download them through my computer and connect my TF to get the ebooks, but I figured there must be some sort of solution to this annoyance.
Any ideas, guys?
Sorry if this should be in General, but I figured it should be here because it concerns the gmail app.
I'm having an altogether different problem with GMail attachments. For me they don't actually download. The download manager starts, but nothing happens. It seems to not have any download size information and pauses the download with no option to restart. I am getting the same problem in the Browser.
This problem existed before the 3.1 update and has persisted since. I have tried Clearing the app data. There's no way to uninstall and re-install either app. I am able to download in other apps (dropbox, etc..)I want to avoid a Factory Reset if possible.

I'm having that same exact issue with certain files attached in an email. Seems to be with certain files/formats, but why is it view instead of download... Think this happened when I tried uploading a rom to myself or a friend.
Try intalling Astro File Manager...

Tried this. It did not work.
After adding a .nomedia file to the Touchdown attachments folder I tried many things to try to get the Gallery to stop displaying these folders (in various combinations):
Rebooted
Wiped the data of the HtcMediaCacheService
Wiped the data of the Gallery app
Renamed the folder to one thing, opened the Gallery, renamed it back, opened the Gallery again. (As per this suggestion.)
I don't want to use the "Show/hide albums" feature because Every email with a picture attachment creates it's own album. Is there some way to solve this?
EDIT: After yet another reboot, they're finally not showing!
At my work I use a web browser based online medical billing system to enter various types of client/patient data. Some of this data must be entered into PDF files that when opened on a Windows OS computer, open up a PDF in a web browser window. I then enter the data into the PDF and can save, as well as edit it in that window. Does anyone know if there is a way to enable such a feature using an Android web browser? So far I have tried just about all Android web browsers and have not been able to do this. Every time I attempt to do this using one of the Android web browsers the PDF file usually just is downloaded, yet it is a blank PDF with none of the previously entered data. I would love to be able to use my new Samsung Note 10.1 2014 edition for work, rather than my relatively large work laptop. Any help with this question would be most appreciated.
Hello friends!
I recently updated my Nexus 5 to LP 5.0.1 and since then I am not able to access any images through any app like Facebook etc. I am able to access images through an app called Quickpic or through ESexplorer, but if I open Gallery, only the pics that I have clicked from camera are accessible, rest are not. When I opened Facebook and tried to share a pic that I had downloaded, I wasnt able to access that file. I even copied the file to the DCIM folder but still only the pics those were actually clicked from this phone were accessible and the rest were not.
Please help.

Searched all over the web and can not find any help on this. Just picked up a Galaxy S7 last week and haven't had any issues with it. My internet at work blocks Gmail, Drive, etc. so I have to access everything on my phone. In some cases if I need a file from my Google Drive I have to use my phone (Gmail app) to send it to my work email, download, edit, email back to Gmail, save to Drive. It is a pain, but the only work around I currently know that still works here.
Anyway, I always password protect the files (word or excel files) so they can not be opened (well opened easily) and viewed. This has never been a problem until now. For some reason, when I email the password protected file back to my Gmail and open up the email on the Gmail app on the S7, it will NOT download or save the attached file. I have tried numerous files and oddly, if the file (docx, xlxs, pdf, zip) is NOT password protected, the Gmail app downloads or saves it to my Drive just fine. However, if the file is password protected, it will not do anything. I tap the screen and all the options and it does nothing.
I do not know if this is some security feature built into the phone, or some app, but it is not helping me. I have tried messing with the Gmail app settings and nothing helped. Cleared cache and data for Gmail app didn't help. Uninstall/reinstall didn't either. Any ideas?
Have you tried other email apps? Do files that you send download normally on PC?

Other email apps work and I can download the files fine on a pc. I looked more into it and apparently it's a Gmail android issue. Others are having similar problems so I guess I'll just have to wait until they roll a new update out.
Today i received my fresh oneplus 6 with android pie rom. Actually i have this issue with gmail. Can't download/view pdf attachments even if i have 2 pdf apps (google pdf viewer and adobe reader). Any idea?
