No PC available/Root/Unlock boot - General Questions and Answers

How can I root an unlock boot loader on HTC Evo Shift. 2.4.1, or can it be rooted with locked loader

You WILL need a PC for ADB and Fastboot I dont think it will be possible without.

Help i cant get recovery

I just used the super cid tool to spoof my phone and i used htc dev and everything worked fine until i tried to flash the 1.85 and it didnt work so then i relocked the bootloader by going into adb and typing adb fastboot oem lock and then the ruu update works now i booted and used htc dev again and in bootloader it says unlocked with s-on but i try to flash recovery and now when i do boot into rcovery it just goes blank and restarts
if i understand your steps, you flashed the RUU and unlocked your bootloader. if yes, flashing the RUU also installs stock recovery. now you need to download CWM recovery for the ATT One XL, restart in bootloader mode and then flash CWM (clock work) recovery.
it also says tampered in bootloader

Watch this video I made to Flash Recovery successfully and root it and unlocking bootloader. I also flashed a custom ROM to test it out and it works. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lX-ptz41p7g

I assume you are s-on
Did you install 4EXT recovery prior to this and can you still boot to recovery?
Is so just enable smart flash and dont' worry about fastboot to get the boot.img installed.

HTC X9 Fastboot

Hi, I'm trying to boot into TWRP with out actually flashing it following some threads I have read here the
commands are.
fastboot devices
fastboot boot
This is as far as I can get , I have unlocked the bootloader and have OEM Unlocking checked on, I have the correct TWRP img for the htc x9, htc e56ml tuhl twrp.
1st pic is the fastboot commands and results.
2nd pic is what the phone is doing.
Some help would be appreciated.
Have you installed the Android USB Driver suitable for this Mediatek chip based phone, too?
I have installed it it still doesn't work,
but I can relock and unlock the bootloader so I'm unsure of why the phone isn't booting
