Enable Link + - Huawei MediaPad X2

I have a Mate7 TL10 that has 7 link +
This is a good feature WiFi enabled and even when a known network is nearby.
It deactivates when leaving the network again.
I have found the x2 how to activate it.
The MP X2 must be rooted.
Install a Build Prop Editor, open it and search the Line
ro.config.hw_wifipro_enable=false
change the false to true
then it must look like
ro.config.hw_wifipro_enable=true
done.
Save the Build Prop file and Reboot.
Then this should be seen in the Settings (See Pics in Attachment)
I have tested it with Android 6 (B205).if it works with 5.1.1 I do not know.
However, it may take longer to be Link + automatically enable / disable it must know the network only learn.
I hope you understand my bad English!

The same works with Roaming+ and Signal+
see the Pic in Attachment, but if it really works, I can not say

Great feature! Thanks!

CM-11 testing for sm-t325 (mondrianlte), no radio support

I'm working on adding support for a WiFi only build of CM-11 for the SM-T325.
I am making no attempt at this time to add cellular support because I don't own the device and it would be very painful to try to do that without the device. However, a WiFi only version seems possible and I want to use this thread to validate that.
As a first step, I'm looking for people to test that this recovery works for them on a SM-T325: cwmr-20140528-mondrianlte.
You'll need to unzip the file and then flash it in Odin. If you don't know how to do that, then a test build is probably not for you!
Yes..it works!!!

i can confirm that this recovery does indeed function as expected...i installed my rom (ran into a weird "android is upgrading" bootloop but it eventually loaded...that may be my experimental multiwindow mod i'm using or the fact that i have completely deleted the touchwiz launcher) as well as created a backup (didnt restore) & all seems to be in order. I may be overreaching a bit about my abilities but im sure if u get a working wifi version going for us then the least i can do is get the cellular working...on a sort of related note would u happen to know if its possible to output through hdmi while in recovery mode? As far as this build is conncerned...anything else u may need tested just give me a shout
edit: looked for the backup which is usually on the internal sd (read:accessible from pc) and although the folder is there its empty...finally found it in "data-media-clockworkmod" & just wanted to know is this normal?

That is normal (it is independent of users and /sdcard is specific to user 0 of the tablet).
If you want to work on the radio, you'll need to be able to build sm-t320. If you get that to build, I'll push up my current repos for the sm-t325.
Would you mind booting into recovery and grabbing a dmesg (/proc/kmsg) for me?
Hopefully I can post a cm 11 build in a couple of hours and we can see how that works.

everything seems to be ok on my end although i cant test as thoroughly as i'd like to because my screen is screwed (broken lcd)...gps took a long time to track & still never redrew the map after it did but that was without high accuracy mode enabled & no data of course. Mic, camera, mhl/hdmi, sound, video playback, wifi, bluetooth (wait let me check...yep!), auto brightness, lid sensor are all working properly...so now i need your permission. Besides getting data working...i just want to know am i free to use this in a dual boot configuration with my rom & post it in my thread? Also...this is not important but do u know if screen mirroring works with the wifi version?

I don't know whether or not screen mirroring works. No one has complained but I don't have any way to test it.
You can (obviously) post a link to the thread. I would prefer that you didn't link to a specific version as I hope to post more test builds here (although so far only 3 people have downloaded it which shows either a lack of interest or a lack of early adopters).

woohoo...well i got data working but calls are a no go as of right now. i can assure u the lack of activity in this thread is definitely not due to lack of intereset....more than likely its because its barely been a full day not to mention that there are not that many of us lte users but best believe once word gets round they'll come running. As far as my permission request...what i was thinking is that i'll just wait until the monthly releases start coming, make the proper changes for data (unless u actually make ours official also which would be awesome) & include it in a dualboot (hopefully multirom) setup. From what i've read ...alterations will need to be made to both kernels/roms which is why i was asking could i use it. I would definitely put a "use at your risk" disclaimer up as to not have the official thread flooded with issues not actually related to cm itself...let me know if u need anthing else on my end
edit: i do have one weird issue though...i copied the dialer app from another device with cm11 but it doesnt show up in the app drawer but is in fact found within the app manager in settings (i know i can just download another dialer but thought i would ask)
edit 2: calls not working yet & but i did get the phone app to appear & sms are also good to go (no mms at the moment)...got rid of the error message on outgoing calls (incoming wont even ring at all) but now it just force closes before it dials out (even with a different dialer)

Here's a new build that has all of the telephony bits enabled. I haven't tried booting it (I'm at work, the tablet is at home) but it should have the dialer and all the other framework that is needed for telephony. Let me know if you get calls working with it:
cm-11-20140529-beta

twrp is fine. The recovery was just because the first step is to make sure that boots before bothering to get the whole system to boot..
I will install your latest build and return with impressions.

Long story short...still no voice. Now for the rest of it...i've gotten it to the point where i can dial out but neither the mic nor speaker works when the call is answered by the other party (i think this is due to the fact that it reports that the call ends as soon as it begins on my device). As far as receiving calls is concerned...NOTHING. I have even gone as far as flashing a note 3 modem (yeah i know...stupid :silly in an attempt to fix it & still no go...i just recently found the build prop edit to allow outgoing calls so hopefully the rest is as simple as editing the build prop. Speaking of which...getting data/phone working is NOT quite so simple but i've gotten it down to the bare minimum number of changes that need to be made. So far we need to add the "lib-qcril-hook-oem.so" from the n9005 cm11 rom & the "libsec-ril.so" as well "libril.so" from the stock T325 rom (which is enough by itself to get data working) as well as decompile the framework-res.apk & and change both the sms & voice config bools enable to true (which i'm sure there is a flag for in source)...this makes the phone app appear as well as allows u to send texts then we need to add the line "ro.telephony.ril.v3=newDialCode" to the prop which allows us to dial out. Well...thats where i'm at as of right now so its back to google for me to put together the rest of the pieces unless u have some insight from working on devices with radios that can be of some assistance

Keep an eye on this post...i just jumped off the deep in end & tried to install the hlte version as is (with kernel swap of course ) so it may take me a minute to get back (i have a nandroid but like to make the cjanges manually so i know the exact process & origin of files). Well i'll be damned...incoming calls work (complete with mic & speaker) with note 3 version of cm11! Outoing still seem to be an issue but this clears up a few gray areas i had concerning whether the ril files matched the modem & so on...i had the bright idea of swapping a few of the framework files then just thought they were so similar that the whole thing should boot. Anyway....shouldnt be long to figure out what the hold up is now bu tgive me a few & i'll post the log after i test a ouple of things then flash back to the other setup
edit: Aaaaaaannnnddd....done! added the line i spoke about in my previous post to the build.prop & now both incoming & outgoing calls are working with the N9005 version...just out of curiosity i'm about to go through & see whats broken the first of which i notice is rotation (i personally hate portrait) but seems like everything else is as well including wifi, camera, lid, bluetooth, & ironically speaker audio (video playback & apollo play no audio through loudspeaker...both work through wired headset). I will still get that logcat a lil later...at this point i dont think it has anything else to do with the build prop because i had already added most of the stuff i found missing in ours from the hlte & it didnt work. I'm thinking maybe another lib file that needs to be swapped...perhaps maybe something in framework

The outgoing call issue is likely just that the audio configuration is missing the use cases for voice calls. That's why I wanted the logcat because that should be easy to add.
When you're done with the hlte version (which is actually not a great idea for a daily driver as there are other things that are different that you may not notice (two biggest I can think of is that the hardware is different and several of the HAL libraries need to enable/disable different files in /sys/ and the networking configuration is different which may break some kernel/user-space interactions).
But if you can send me the logcat, the build.prop that you are happiest with and detailed information about anything else that you chnaged (e.g. exactly what you changed in frameworks so I'm not guessing) then I'll take a look at another test build.

Enabling "Hidden" S6 Features

http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6-edge/general/quick-guide-enabling-hidden-features-t3087506
I have tried to make the edits the OP of the above thread illustrated but for the life of me I can't get any of them to work. Just curious if any of you guys have tried it and got it to work?
FYI the "hidden features" include things like Call Recording, Camera Sound Toggle, Removal of NFC icon and a few other things.
Didn't work for me either..
Only thing that kinda worked was the camera shutter sound can be gotten rid of by turning the ringtone or media volume off before starting the camera..
If you go into System-Media-Ui you can delete all the annoying boot sounds and camera shutter noise
So after messing with this stuff for hours i finally figured it out.
The guide tells you to alter system/csc/others.xml
however in my trials nothing would work - so i did my thing and found out at least on the sprint variant here you have to put the edits into this file --> system/csc/feature.xml once i did the edits to that file and rebooted everything works now, so try that out and let me know how it worked out for you guys
Ah, excellent detective work there. When I have a chance I'll check that out!
EDIT: I followed your instructions and I still couldn't get those features to work. I have no idea what I'm missing.
Where do you find the Wi-Fi Calling after you enabled it? Can you upload your FEATURE.XML file for me so I can compare it to mine? I must be missing something

I think the wifi caling option is in the phone app but i could be wrong sonce i dont use that feature. The only other thing i did was put my new code in the middle of the featre.xml instead of at the end and i made a new section that i named custom edits. From something i read somewhere u have to make sure your edits are before the very last few lines that say </feature> and </Samsung>

Yes you do need root, we are modifying a system file here. With sprints spark you can only get data and voice if your connected to wifi, or you are on a voip call which uses data so then its all the same. No other way around it.

How to enable Preferred WiFi Calling on Android P Developer Preview?

As was shown here: https://www.xda-developers.com/enable-preferred-wifi-calling-option-verizon-pixel-pixel-xl/ you could enable WiFi calling as your preferred calling method with this nice little ADB command. I can confirm with Oreo it worked, and stuck through reboots and all. I have however now sideloaded my Verizon Pixel with the Developer Preview of Android P. It was a smooth upgrade, however I can no longer get WiFi calling to be preferred with the ADB command. It was originally still listed there, and was still containing the "2" value, but the setting no longer worked. I did a factory reset to start fresh, and I notice that the setting is no longer present when doing the “settings list global” command. I tried adding the line and it still does not work. Anyone have a workaround or any ideas on what I can try to get the WiFi calling to be preferred again? I really rely upon it at work, as we have almost no cell signal, and I have come to love the previous ability I had to have it be the Preferred method for all my calls. Since I have one of the jacked Verizon Pixels, I was never able to unlock the Bootloader, so there is no going back for me! I do also want to say on that note though, for the last week, since I did the factory reset and re-did everything, my phone has been rock solid on the "P" Developer Preview!

I know there was a flashable magisk module that enabled the options, but it doesn't help with the actual ims status(*#*#4636#*#*, phone settings, ims status). It might be that you need the official Verizon rom that includes the necessary lib files, or that the dev preview doesn't include those and therefore you can't yet enable it?

I though about the Verizon thing as well, but I also used the Developer Preview for Oreo, and it worked with it just fine, so I am thinkning they have just moved it somewhere else in the "P", or something of that nature, but I am hoping that someone here can possibly figure it out!

I'm having the same problem after a recent update. WiFi calling no longer works, and the option has disappeared from settings.
Dialing *#*#4636#*#* no longer brings up the menu, either.
I tried via adb shell to set wfc_ims_mode=2, but that doesn't work. `settings list global` shows that it is set to 2, but even after reboot wifi calling still doesn't work.

Probably just something that handy yet been implemented, being it is a Dev preview . Same thing with the lockscreen shortcut icons for camera and phone.
Just an update. I stuck a T-Mobile SIM card in my phone and after using the magisk module I mentioned, the options appeared for the advanced and wifi calling. I'll do it again tomorrow and pay a screen . It's almost midnight here so gonna crash
I'm running stock p on verizon. Hoping someone comes up with a solution.

Experiencing this issue after upgrading my Pixel XL and my wife's Pixel 2 to the Verizon Pie.
Details for my Pixel XL:
Android Version 9
Android Security Patch Level: August 5th, 2018
Kernel Version: 3.18.10-ga765425
Build Number: PPR1.180610.009
I used to use the ADB hack flawlessly, now I can't seem to make WiFi Calling Preferred over mobile network. So even though I have one bar that goes in and out, it uses the network then drops.

I'm gonna pm ya
I haven't even updated to P yet and mine stopped working on the last security patch. I can set it back using adb. Reboot and wifi calling comes on. The first phone call works for about 5 minutes, then drops. The settings database values go back to default. The only way to get it to work again is to go through the whole process again.
Too much trouble. Sure would be nice to just turn it on and have it work.
Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

XDA won't let me put the text needed in the comments. Dload my PDF and copy paste the text from there to your buildprop
Does Google Pay still work after you edit the build.prop file?

I didn't not know. Can't use it in France anyways so I'm not worried about it.
Doesn't work in DP5
Hoping that someone else here can verify it in the regular version of pie.
I didn't switch to the RTM because WiFi calling is too important and I did want to test it though.

Question Mix Fold 2 Tips & Tricks

Here are some things I've learned and/or used to solve things and make this phone how I want it in the first month of so of ownership:
- install all the Androplus magisk modules
- if you search for "more dark mode options" in settings you can choose to force whatever app you want into dark mode. this one took me awhile to figure out
- if you are rooted and have any problem getting notifications use the app DozeOff from the Fdroid store
- if you want to see screen on time install digital wellbeing from the play store, no app will appear installed but you can use the app activity launcher to open it, then in settings you can choose to have the app appear.
- for some reason forcing desktop mode in chrome android does not work for me after turning the chrome flag on, but using the app Chrome UA forces chrome to display websites in desktop mode as default each time instead of mobile
- use vivid navigation gestures so you have gestures with a 3rd party launcher
- if you want to use a 3rd party app and hide the nav bar, use the magisk module Fullscreen/Immersive Gestures q-t, us the androplus modele Hide Status bar to get a truly fullscreen phone when unfolded.
- are you not getting the latest MIUI update and also want to stay rooted with magisk? install MIUI downloader from the play store, grab the latest software there you want the full version. go to miui updates in settings and tap on the icon 10 times, you will now have the option to flash update files. install the magisk module MIUI flash freely. you can now flash a full rom update from the file you downloaded. flash the update but don't reboot. go to magisk and install magisk to inactive slot OTA. you'll now have the latest version of MIUI and won't have to wait.

How to install MIUI updates manually / early - xiaomiui
Xiaomi continues to release updates for their devices but sometimes these updates may take longer to arrive than normal. With this guide we are going to teach
xiaomiui.net
just follow that, then you have to install the magisk module to be able to install the local file

So now I have to root it again like I did the first time rooting?
Yes. Auto update must be disabled both in Settings and in Developer Options. You can manually update, but to preserve root you must carefully follow the instructions knives of ice and I have posted on the forum.

Is your Android Auto working?
Anyone else had issues with voice calls sounding absolutely awful for the other person?
Apparently it sounds like I'm under water and doesn't sound great at all. I then recorded a phonecall with someone and can confirm that my end sounds absolutely awful.
I'm in the UK and using Giffgaff if that counts at all.
EDIT: Had a SIM from Three arrive that I ordered 'cause I'm off to the US next week, just made a phonecall with that and the quality was a typical normal quality, not an underwater sounding mess. So whatever it is, it's something to do with Giffgaff and the phone (it works perfectly fine on my previous phone).

Do you have VoLTE enabled? The VoLTE toggle appears in Settings/Mobile Network/SIM if coded on your SIM Card. Some SIMs, like those from T-Mobile, allow this automatically. With some carriers you have to get around the fact that this is not an "approved device" on their Network. Use the dial code * # * # 86583 # * # * to disable carrier check and the VoLTE option will appear. If it is working you will get an HD symbol before or above your cell signal bars in the system notifications tray. Without VoLTE enabled, even though you are connected to a 4G or 5G network, voice calls fall back and connect on the old 3G networks. To see if you have correctly enabled VoLTE look at your system notifications tray and note what you are connected to - ie 4G. Now place a voice call and see if it stays on 4G or whether it changes to H, H+, HSPA, or 3G. If it drops, then you don't have VoLTE enabled. If the code to disable the carrier check doesn't work, you can unlock the bootloader, root with Magisk, and install a VoLTE Enabler module. Voice quality on 3G is poor compared to VoLTE (which carries voice calls over 4G or 5G). The Americans have shut down their 3G towers so you won't be able to place voice calls in the States unless you get this settled. Alternatively, when you land in the US you can connect to the airport's WiFi and download the Google Voice app, get a free American phone number, and you can then place free phone calls in the US and Canada to American and Canadian numbers, and for just a few pence call home. Google Voice uses mobile data, so it will work anywhere in the US over 4G or 5G data. Unfortunately GiffGaff doesn't have any roaming arrangements with US carriers (it only has EU roaming partners), but if you have picked up a Three SIM, their Three Go Roam should work. If "automatically connect to preferred network" is enabled in the Settings/Mobile Data/SIM of your phone, then it might try to connect to AT&T which could be problematic. I have a Canadian SIM and the dial code to disable carrier check and enable VoLTE works with Canadian carriers, but on a trip to Colorado last week I couldn't make voice calls as the trick didn't work on the AT&T network which uses a "whitelist" of approved devices for VoLTE. T-Mobile doesn't, so I changed the phone setting to "manually select network", waited for it to search, and then chose T-Mobile. I then had VoLTE back and could place voice calls. Let us know how you made out with voice calls in the US. EDIT: I just checked with someone in the UK and GiffGaff doesn't support VoLTE at all as they push all their voice calls over 3G and VoLTE is Voice Over LTE (4G). Three, Vodafone, and EE push their voice calls over 4G in the UK.

Can you share how you rooted this phone? Coming from a person who doesn't know how to at all
Hi,
After months of sitting on the fence, I finally purchased the phone and taking delivery of it the next couple of days. Coming from a 1st time user of Xiaomi and foldable phone, I would like to ask a few questions if I may:
1) Unlock the bootloader - waiting period of 168 hours.
So during the waiting period, can i start using the phone normally and transferring my data over?
2) After waiting period is up, I will start installing Magisk via patching method to root the phone. What are the list of Magisk modules and what are the must-haves to install for this phone? I don't drive so Android Auto is not required.
3) When can i start running the ADB commands to uninstall the chinese apps?
4) Is it a must to disable MIUI optimizations in order to enable horizontal split? I read somewhere that there is a horizontal spilt mod?
Thank you for taking the time to read and clear my enquiries. Really appreciate it.

You can use it normally. Just make sure you log into your xiaomi account and dont log out during that time or else it will reset the timer
2) After waiting period is up, I will start installing Magisk via patching method to root the phone. What are the list of Magisk modules and what are the must-haves to install for this phone?
I would recommend androplus module for the global conversion and universal safteynet fix
3) When can i start running the ADB commands to uninstall the chinese apps?
as soon as you get the phone. Just make sure you dont remove the wrong one or else you get boot looped and need to factory reset
4) Is it a must to disable MIUI optimizations in order to enable horizontal split? I read somewhere that there is a horizontal spilt mod?
I dont know of any mods to enable horizontal split so im pretty sure it is. MIUI optimisations has given me more problems than features though so im fine with having it off (other than my keyboard getting reset every time I reboot)

As ThatsJustLogic said, be very very careful with what you erase. My first go I deleted xiaomi cloud and I kept getting an error pop up every 5 seconds.
In terms of modules, it’s really up to you and how you want the device to look and feel.
Thank you
ThatsJustLogic andGlesi2323 for the kind advice.
Hi, surprised no one has mentioned this but.. There is no way to customize the app grid?? It only has the default 4x5 option and no way to change it, am I missing something? Is there a way to fix this without rooting, etc?
