[HELP] - General Questions and Answers

Guys I got a strange problem. I can't turn on my radio on my phone. I tried turning it on with apps or calling *#*#4636#*#* but it didn't help. Any solution? Also I got an Mediatek mt6592 hardware

Using custom roms, radio and other things must be responsible. What last activity you did on your phone?

I think that I run Cyanogenmod 12.1 ported and then I installed my stock rom using SP flash tool because I needed it to call my friends. I reinstalled Cyanogenmod and then I reinstalled stock rom and now radio is locked.

The problem that I have with your first solution is that after I type the code for the Engineer Mode, in all of those options I dont have "CDS information"... ergo, I cant do nothing.. What do you advise next? p.s. how do I flash my phone stock firmware?

I have the new X920 (butterfly clone) MTK6589, and I have this invalid IMEI issue. I can manually get this fixed through your guide entering the engineer's mode. But everytime I reset to factory settings, the invalid imei error comes up. Is there a way to fix this permanently?

i think
it can be done if you have any previous backups of data partition before the invalid imei problem occured.

I've never heard of this before and it seems extreme that you could lose IMEI number just by flashing a custom ROM. What method did you use?
I would have assumed fastboot flashing stock firmware should solve this.

Hi Sorry for late reply but I lost internet connection on Saturday morning.
When I have been doing some stuff in CWM recovery, had system and data partition mounted.
Then done rm -R * in root dir.
At this point I thought that my current dir is tmp.
After this I lost wifi and IMEI.
I manage to sort out wifi but not IMEI code.
Do you know how to fix this?
Since that I have been re-flashing stock rom and CWM rom but none of them help.
Chris
anyone can help to recover IMEI ?
Thanks
Changing/manually setting the IMEI is illegal afaik. And afaik assisting someone with that is also forbidden here on xda. We used to have a similar problem on the phone I came from, and there was a app which let you backup/restore your IMEI. You need to have a backup in order to restore it so this won't really help you...
This is what I'm talking about: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1591997
Edit.: There actually seems to be a way to manually set it but I'm not sure if it is device-specific.
Sent from my XT1032 using xda app-developers app
You can find your Imei on the back of the phone.
If you google android 4.4 set imei you should find something from technostall which might help you
Good luck
Yes, it's on the battery.

I haven't.
I tried to sole this issues re-flashing with different roms, but after several operations it bricked.
It's totally dead, not charging, in linux I can't see device connected, so i think that is dead.
I bought new one.
Good luck with this problem.

I solved the problem, place to charge the phone, let him take some of the load and flash the original ROM, after that flash CM11, and run perfectmente, I think at first it was because I had done without the SIM, the second time you make with the SIM sunset ...

Yes It Does for most of the devices given you should know the proper method.
Mtk is different. It's not the same thing.
Any news?
Also I think the problem is that the imei is on the phone just not on the OS? (obviously, but...)
Maybe when we all reflashed to the original stock (and countless other stocks) they just didn't have the proper folder to access in order to identify what imei they're assigned?
Because every single time I've tried to manually rewrite the imei to it all the methods I've used are futile. Even the ones specially tailored to the Moto G's hardware SnapDragon - Qualcomm...
restore IMEI by Motorola service?
Same problem for me. I am really interested in some experience about restoring IMEI.
Motorola support phorum owner replied that Motorola service can recover IMEI (not covered by any kind of warranty of course).
I have tried to reflash factory ROM with and without inserted SIM card, but unfortunately no difference.
I have seen looking for solution, that for some people Android system sees IMEI=0, but the IME is still untouched using fastboot mode and "fastboot getvar" CLI command
For me it's empty using the "getvar" command as well.
The official service center in Germany told me that they mustn't repair selfmade imei problems :S
Lost IMEI
You could all try this new method claimed to be working but as I have not lost my IMEI I can't say, please report back if it works for you?

Discussion about manually modifying IMEI numbers in any way is not allowed on XDA as it is illegal in many countries, including the USA where this site is based.

Lost IMEI and baseband numbers after flashing custom software. Help with restoring.

Hi, I flashed xtrestolite on my phone and after booting up both my imei and baseband numbers became unknown; I now can't connect to my mobile network as my phone doesn't detect my sim.
I've tried to fix this issue by flashing other roms as well as flashing various official firmwares downloaded from sammobile to no avail.
I remember having the same issue with my gs3 and fixed it by flashing cyanogenmod. I tried this as well but the phone wouldn't boot up after flashing the unofficial version.
Could someone please help me with fixing this as I've been trying to for 3 weeks now.

The phone originally for vodafone uk and you flashed the latest firmware on it?. I think nothing can be done except restoring the imei from backup manually.

Try reinitialize the phone using smart switch. Hopefully it could fix the broken imei. Flashing the correct firmware(odin/smart switch) sometimes helps to restore imei.

Hello so I was using the phone as casual but suddenly during some call the phone cut off and there was no signals or sim card showing so I check the call app and check the IMEI and it was null I don't know how this happened so I reinstall firmware even factory reset but couldn't fix it so plz somebody help me to fix this phone imei the phone is rooted by magisk but twrp is not installed so plz help me what do I do...
If you haven't backed up the /EFS and/or /NVRAM partition where phone's IMEI is stored before re-flashing phone's Stock ROM then you have lost, unless you have the box at your hands with which phone has been delivered: IMEI should be printed on there.

If Windows Device Manager shows you an unusable driver is installed then this has nothing to do whether driver is signed or not. It simply means the driver isn't suitable.
You have to install the USB-driver suitable to your NOKIA device:
Download Nokia USB Driver for Windows (Latest Driver)
Download the latest and original Nokia USB Driver to quickly connect any Nokia Smartphone and tablet to the Windows Computer.
