how to run .exe files in android phone

Android is a linux system, and .exe files only work on windows systems.
If you would like to get more info, there is a thread on the askubuntu.com site that explains it well.
On Linux nearly any file can be executable. The file ending just describes (but not necessarily) what or how a file is "executed". (the last sentence is copied and pasted from that thread)

Putting togeter exe from wm6 image (noob)

Hi,
Following this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=310287 I created a dump directory for a WM6 image. Inside the SYS directories are a number of subdirectories. Some of these subdirectories have familiar names (e.g. calendar.exe). Using calendar.exe as an example, there are 5 files: imageinfo.bin, imageinfo.txt, S000, S001, and S002. Here are my questions:
1. What are these 5 files?
2. What tool would I use to put the folder together to create a single executable?
Sorry for the noob questions but I can't find the answer on the forums!!
OK, after trying out all of the tools in one of the bundles, I found the answer to the second question:
2. Within someone's kitchen tools (I don't remember which one I downloaded) was a file called recmod.exe. Run it with the folder as a parameter and it will put the exe together.
I still don't have the answer as to what those 5 files are though.
My terms may be off base but I'll try to explain what these files are as I understand it (and hopefully not look stupid in the meantime as I'm also trying to explain it in layman's terms).
Many core files are constructed like this so that they are optimized in the Rom to make them run more efficiently on our devices.

android sdk and ubuntu

Hi,
I have a question. I want to look at my apps on ubuntu and have installed the android sdk and can get it to boot. However, i cannot install any applications on it. I downloaded a system.img which I think I need to move to the .android folder and specifically into that avd folder.
However, where do I find this folder in ubuntu? I know where it is put for windows and can do it on a windows operating machine.
Thanks for the help
In nautilus (the file manager) click on view > show hidden files. This will allow you to see all the hidden directories. In linux, directories that being with a "." are hidden.

java8 for android? the sollution might be here!

Im what you might call a trainee android developer working with java and i might have found a sollution for java8 on android. Well, here i go:
step 1. download jdk-8u66-linux-i586.tar.gz it should be under the linux category
step 2. Extract the tar.gz with the Rar app for android. or use a computer.
step 3. locate the extracted copy of the archive
step 4. go to:
jdk-8u66-linux-i586/jdk1.8.0_66/jre/lib/
step 5. there should be a file names rt.jar
rt.jar includes the entire directory for java8 and all class files. most likely an API
THINGS TO NOTE:
1. if you are developing code on a android and not a computer(like i am) you may see some class files twice in your IDE.
2. to my knowledge, i am not quite sure everything will work the same as if on a linux computer.
thank you for taking your time to read this.
sorry if i post this under wrong category, completely new to forums!

Add APK - repack system.img

I was looking for a similar topic but I did not find one. Refers to problems with running applications added to "system.img".
I bought UMIDIG S for my father-in-law. It is based on a mediatec chipset. Unfortunately, soft is tragic, and there is no full translation, so I decided to bury it a bit in "system.img".
I can easily install the file in Linux and make changes in it. I can delete applications, I can make changes in configuration files and "buikd.prop".
Unfortunately, all APK files were uploaded to "system.img" even though I set permissions 755 for directories, and 644 for directories. Although the files are root: root, after uploading such "system.img" none of these applications works for the phone. The system sees them and tries to load. Unfortunately, applications hang because of errors. The system informs that the application hangs, and does not load its window. The icons of these applications and the names do not appear either (applications have green robocik as icon, and domain name, e.g. com.android.clock ....)
I am asking for advice. How to add APK files to the unzipped "system.img" so that after packing and uploading to the phone there were no errors ???
Do you have found how add app in system.img?
It's all around, but you can replace apps with others. In the linux system, unpack the img, and mount them. Then you can freely rename files as well as move files within the .img mount point
I chose the applications or other files I did not need, and moved them to the directories (which I named my applications). If the application needed libraries, you also had to get files in a similar way, and place them in arm or arm64 directories.
Then prepared files "stuffed" with data, using the command DD. That is, dd if = (source file) of = (the recipient file at the system.img mount point).
Thanks for reply, so this only on Linux? For Windows there is something?

I do not know, I do not use Windows. Certainly you can in a similar way from BSD systems, probably from Android and MacOS. I read something that Microsoft can somehow support linux shell, but I do not know the details. You can always use some distribution that works with a pendrive.
Thanks, I will try again

You can use Virtual Box to run a Linux distro inside Windows or you can try using Cygwin.

[File Download] ext4_unpacker.exe

How to download the removed ext_unpacker.exe
Recently, I have came back to android ROM rooting, and found myself unable to download the files that allow ext4 unpacking on windows. And if you are using a laptop with windows, or a small windows setup on desktop, or just are not that tech savvy, and dont know or dont have the space, to create a dual-boot setup for pc, you can just use this unpacker!
WARNING: I DO NOT CREATE OR OWN PROGRAM, ITS CONTENTS, OR ITS FILES, I AM SIMPLY REDISTRIBUTING FILES THAT LOST SUPPORT FOR THEM, USE THEM AS YOU WISH, AND I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES THAT MAY OCCUR TO YOUR DEVICE, SYSTEM, FILES, OR ANYTHING ELSE THE PROGRAM INTERACTS WITH, AND TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGES THAT DO OCCUR. THIS PROGRAM HAS PROVEN TO BE SAFE FOR ME, THAT DOES NOT MEAN IT WILL BE SAFE FOR YOU.
First Method Of Obtaining Files:
The first what you are able to obtain the ext4 unpacker is by going to this XDA thread and downloading the GS-Kitchen RELOADED. I am not going to add the download for there file, as to give them support for there files, and there work. But if you download there ZIP file, and extract it, you can find the 2 files you should need to run the unpacker, those files are located in the tools folder, and called:
ext4_unpacker.exe
ext4_unpacker.ini
After grabbing those files, you should just be able to run the ext4_unpacker.exe, but you may want to run it as admin.
Second Method Of Obtaining Files:
The second method, and the easiest way to get the files, is to just download the zip file containing the two files from here. Just simply unzip, and use the .exe file! I got the file from the same place as method 1, although method 1 got it from somewhere else, if im not mistaken.
Enjoy the ability unpacking on windows!
