Update old rooted S3 to KK? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Hello all,
I have an old VZN S3 with rooted stock kernel BMA2 (4.1.2). I was looking to update it something newer. Is there a easy way to go to 4.4.2 or higher and keep root? I am only interested in a stock ROM. Right now I have no backup software installed (CWM or TWRP). Any help to direct me to a step-by-step post would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Frank in Michigan

Going from custom ROM on Bell S2 to the new 4.1.2 official Jelly Bean ROM? How?

Hey everyone
I've only ever hacked my phones one way, from stock to custom. Today the 4.1.2 official firmware came out for the Bell S2 i9100, and I'd like to give it a go. I'm expecting that I won't get an OTA update since I'm modded, and there's nowhere under the "about phone" section for me to tell it to look for an update.
What is the easiest way to get back to stock? Do I need to download the new 4.1.2 and flash via Odin? Is there a way to tell my phone to go back to stock, and then do the update?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Upgrading stock root Sprint Note Edge SM-915P to Marshmallow

Hello,
I have been trying to search for an answer to this but have only found ways to root a note edge or root a note edge after upgrade.
I know that when Lollipop was released, there were discussions of how you had to go back to a stock configuration, then upgrade, then root again.
I have a stock kernel root 4.4.4 which I did back in 2014.
Is there any way of being able to upgrade, while rooted, to Marshmallow?
Regardless of the answer, all help would be greatly appreciated as to the required steps to move up to the new ROM.
Links would also be helpful.
My intention is to remain in stock root configuration.
Also, if any of you have Marshmallow with root, would you happen to know if the old GalaxyTools ver 2.2 works with it (the only reason why I have not yet upgraded)
Thanks in advance
