[Solved] How to hide NFC icon in statusbar ? - Xperia Z5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

It is not so simple as it was with my previous Z2...
I know it can be done by changing of firmware region, but I don't wish.
Does anybody have a solution to hide the NFC icon in statusbar with NFC on ?

Settings > Display > System Icons
Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk

Can you post a screenshot,cause i don't have it and even in sytem icons it's not there to hide it.
Maybe look if you have the option to turn it off under display settings system icons.

Same for me, no NFC icon in settings > display > system icons

I Have searched it a lot and found it in a bizarre place go with you root explorer to racine/oem/system-properties and change this value in config.prop
Code:
ro.nfc.icon.enable=false
with build.prop editor or something else save and reboot. the icon should be gone!
Don't forget to press thanks if helpful

It did not work for me, it was not enough. I had to change:
Code:
ro.nfc.icon.enable=true
to
Code:
ro.nfc.icon.enable=false
in:
racine/oem/system-properties/config.prop
racine/oem/system-properties/5651/config.prop
racine/oem/system-properties/5652/config.prop
racine/oem/system-properties/5653/config.prop
And NFC icon is gone now

with cm6 you can change the color and/or remove it in cyanogenmod settings...not sure if it is in alpha1 but the nightlys have it and definitely the next release
As far as I can tell, these settings are created by the active (ie Network Connected) SIM card placed in the phone. We have the ability to slightly modify the display, but i'm unsure of a total change- such as switch "T-Mobile" to say "AT&T". I don't see any entry in the build.prop to do so. If someone finds a way, please let me know. I could think of a host of funny things to say on my Froyo lockscreen.
Try this, copy the code bellow into notepad
<EriFile VersionNumber="1357" NumberOfEriEntries="1" EriFileType="1">
<CallPromptId Id="0" CallPromptText="CallPromptId0"/>
<CallPromptId Id="1" CallPromptText="CallPromptId1"/>
<CallPromptId Id="2" CallPromptText="CallPromptId2"/>
<EriInfo RoamingIndicator="128" IconIndex="1" IconMode="0" EriText="Sprint" CallPromptId="0" AlertId="0"/>
</EriFile>
Replace the Sprint text within the quotes to whatever you want.
Save the file as "eri.xml" NOT .txt no quotes.
Place the file in /system/etc/ or in /data not sure which is the right one for your phone so try one then the other.
Reboot your phone.

Looking for an answer too. I know We can modify the operator name on Home screen but could we change it on lock screen as well?

In CM 6, one can remove it from lockscreen. (not rename though)
-> disable PLMN field on lockscreen (in: CM sett..user interface...data provider)

if you look here http://review.cyanogenmod.com/ you'll see that someone worked on it, but it seems they don't like the current incarnation and might add it into the CM Settings.
Renaming the operator name is no problem, basically its a one liner using setprop but it could lead to unwanted side effects for apps that rely on the alphaname of a provider and not only on the mnc.

Didn't know it exists something like that..
Well, looks like we can't really change it at all.. atleast not like on old Sony Ericsson phones with .elf's or patches good old times haha

? You can but with said side effect
If you want to change the lockscreen or the statusbar only to show a fake name you can always get the sources and compile it for yourself with the modifications.
Is there a way to insert custom Text to the Lockscreen?

systemui question

Hi mate,
Download SystemUI.apk from attachment. Copy it to your sd card. First delete system/app/systemUI.apk and systemUI.odex. After that copy new SystemUI.apk to system/app then set permissions to rw-r--r--
Restart your phone
Just hided sim indicators, the other things are still untouched.

Hi all, I am just sharing the S5 style SecSettings and QuickToggles which I made for my Note 3 N9005 running on Stock firmware (XXUGNG1) , This mod should work on all the Note 3 N9005 variant with firmware having ChangeList: 1955971
Changes:
*Added Flashlight in Quick Toggles.
*Enabled Full Fleshed S5 style Settings including all S pen settings.
*Enabled Settings Shortcut (Battery, Application Manager, LockScreen).
*Enabled Hidden TorchLight Option. [For some reason Torch not working ]
*Enabled Hidden Power Management Options.
*Enabled Hidden Safety Options.
*Removed fingerprint Option.
*Added Gallery, S Voice, Phone, Contacts, Gmail shortcuts (settings module) under Application header.
*Changed all the icons to S5 Settings.
*Several other bug fixes.
Attached SystemUI.apk in S5 style with matching header background and Gaps between tiles is removed.
Color code to be used for WanamXposed

2. FF006578
Both of these colour codes are copied from S5 SystemUI.

Yes. You can do it without custom recovery.
Download mobile ODIN pro. And flash using Mobile ODIN pro.
You can flash zip files using MOP.
Or else
**Decompile apk and make changes as per your wish and recompile
Or else
**Copy the required apk where you wish to change png icons into phone memory. [Example: Storage/emulated/0/app folder]
1. Extract the required apk using Root explorer.
2. After extracting search for the image/png icons which you want to replace in drawables folder. (Assume you want to replace notification_panel_torchlight.png in res/drawables-xxdpi folder of SystemUI.apk)
3. Create your own png icons.
4. Now rename the newly created png icons with the same name that you want to replace.
(Example: notification_panel_torchlight.png)
5. Now install RAR from playstore. And Copy/Cut the image from RAR.
6. Navigate to Storage/emulated/0/app folder from RAR..
7. Long press the apk file (ExampExample:SystemUI.apk) which you wish to change png icons.
8. Click on Open as archive.
9. Navigate to res/drawables-xxdpi folder and paste that png which you have copied or cutted in step 5.
10. All images should be in .png format.
All the above method require Root access. And you can root without tripping Knox.
THANKS.

-open the file in text editor and go to the end of file and add a line in it 'qemu.hw.mainkeys=0' (without inverted commas ofcourse)
-restart the device.

I am not aware of any other way to resize it xcept the gravity box. The only way to unhide the call button is ofcourse resizing it. Or try using other software like ex dialer or some other launcher.

the first two pictures 5 Columns,Pic 3 and 4 with 4 Columns
When Colum on 5 and Row 4you can see all the links/Quick Settings Icons,see the last pic

Change the Icon Size
Go in System,open Build.prop
search the Line
Original:
ro.config.app_big_icon_size=161
change to (in Red)
ro.config.app_big_icon_size=128
Save (Permission rw-r-r) and Reboot.
I like smaller icons and have 128,you can play with it.
See the Pic in Attachment
Thanks. This is really useful.
Now I just wish there was a way to edit the shortcuts on Quick settings.
is there a code to remove icon names on the toggles? and make it smaller with affecting the icons on the homescreen? thanks
I don't know to remove toggles.
You can make the Icons smaller in Build.Prop
Search the Line:
ro.config.app_big_icon_size=164
And change the last three numbers.
I use 128.
Don't forget the Permissions to rw-r-r
and reboot.
You have smaller Icons
Changing columns and rows and also icon size adjustment can be found at K Settings
Yes, it's in Notification Settings / Change statusbar toolbox showmode.5 columns is ok. With port to 6 columns in port I get overlapping on some text.
