[Completed] Adding infrared capability to my Allview A5 Smiley: assistance badly needed - XDA Assist

My Allview A5 Smiley Android smartphone does not feature an infrared emitter, so I recently bought one (eBay item# 381493551518) with the purpose of remote controlling my 'dumb' TV set.
The eBay description suggests using an app called ZaZaRemote, which I installed and tested. Unfortunately, none of the profiles in their database seem to activate the LED.
I tested the latter by pointing both my TV remote and the smartphone IR blaster / LED to the webcam: with the TV remote I can 'see the purple light' flashing, with the IR blaster I CAN NOT.
So I tested around a dozen of similar Android apps, no success there either.
I also tested the IR device (diode) using a multimeter: on [diode] / 2K mode I get 1.280 and ∞ respectively, so the LED seems to be in order.
Please help.
Thank you.

Many thanks for the warm welcome AND for the 2 threads you suggest.
I chose to go to [Ask Any Question][Newbie Friendly], but (please don't laugh...) I'm not able to make out how to correctly take part: do I use the Reply button or is there a 'posting area' I'm stubbornly missing on the page?

You can just press the post reply button there. I normally scroll to the last page and either press reply or quote someone's post.

[Completed] Suspicious app

Hey, I have a new phone and after downloading my first app (tweaked MiBand app) from outside the Play Store i found a very strange app in menu. App looked suspicious to me because its name was "zamki oprogramowania", written just this way, without any capital letter at the beginning. I was also surprised because I was sure that I already checked every feature of the phone before starting installing any apps. I changed my phone's language to english and the app changed its name to "AppLock". When I open this AppLock it works like if it was an AppLock - it chooses a PIN and lets to choose apps to lock with it. I would accept this as a poor translation + my oversight if I didn't check the App info. This app has literally every possible permission. Starting with directly calling phone numbers and editing text messages, throughout the precise location with GPS, modifying contacts and content of SD card, setting an alarm, accessing Bluetooth, adding words to dictionary, drawing over other apps and much, much more. I made some screenshots but I can't post them, since I am a new member.
Additionally, the app is Version 1.0, it weighs 120KB and has no details about the developer or anything. Of course, I can't uninstall it, I would need a root for this. I didn't find a good looking tutorial for my phone yet since it's not that popular and quitely fresh - it's Doogee X5 Galicia. It might be important, that I noticed the app before turning on "unknown sources" in options, just after downloading Mifit app but before installing it.
So, to summarize: I downloaded an app from the web, then i found another, strangely-named and undeletable app with all the permissions granted. Should I be worried?
Ah, and sorry for poor english. I hope it won't be that hard to get why am I concerned.
Thank you in advance!

[Completed] I have the zte Prestige 5.1 I bought it new about 6 months ago

How can I have the same app open twice at the same time, and why does this phone turn itself on and start texting in the same app that is open twice but not allow me to see what is being typed as it is little black dots like when you input your password. Also I was reading something on a website when all of a sudden there was a drop down (kind of sorta) with commands like, player_load "catalog - request" "catalog _response" "start_time" "video _impressions"
Please can someone help me figure out wtf is going on with this crazy phone?

[Completed] Android taskbar enlarge

We work with 20 touchscreens (tablets) under which an Android Webaplication takes to record production data. (We work with Android 4.2.2) This is the only thing we do with these touchscreens all other Internet options are blocked. Now more people are logging on simultaneously on a screen by clicking a new tab in the taskbar. However, this part of the display is less prone to be selected with a finger. You must click, for example next to the + or x to activated. The rest of the screen works well but that's because there areas in which you click are a lot bigger. Is it possible to enlarge the taskbar for example, 200 or 300%? How can you make an adjustment?

[Completed] Force installing android OS through a USB port into a locked car entertainment system

Hey guys, so my mom new vehicle got "upgraded" by the dealer with a custom android entertainment system running android 4.2.2 version.
Thing is that due to regulations the dealer makes the system COMPLETELY dysfunctional, all of the main options are blocked, no google play, no settings, no apps, i cant access no where and install nothing, navigation only.
I tried to find a way to open it and found out that the few people in my country that do it (for a 200$ charge) actually connect a usb stick to the usb port that auto installs a completely new OS and dont crack the original one.
So i would really like to avoid the 200$ payment and i really dont care being a guinea pig for that matter, so any of you know a way to auto install an android OS via a usb\laptop\any other way to crack a system or any other idea that would help me out?
thanks!
