Stepped OTA's from H81010g to MM - AT&T LG G4

I blocked OTA updates after I was automatically updated to H81010g. I was holding out to see if some bootloader unlock method came and have decided to quit waiting. I'm hesitant to go to MM since there tends to be bugs on the first pass. If I unblock OTA's will it step through the updates in between 10g and MM? I was hoping I could stop it at the last update prior to MM so I can root and wait to see how MM pans out. Is this possible? And what is the last software version prior to MM that I should stop at?

Normally OTAs will step through. 10o is the last update version before MM.

I unblocked the update files so I could update. I went into about phone and checked for updates and it started a download. I noticed it was 971mb which meant it was the Marshmallow update so I immediately blocked the updater files with the debloater to stop the update.
I'm on 10g and really only wanted to go to 10o and stop. Is there any way to get the rest of the KitKat updates through 10o? I'm assuming that if I unblock again and let it do FOTA updates on it's own that it will jump straight to the Marshmallow update again? I'm not ready to take my chances with potential bugs on Marshmallow and also to lose the ability to root.

[Q] New OTA ATT Software Update - Will I lose root if I upgrade?

My phone just let me know there is a new OTA ATT Software Update. Has anybody gone through with the update? What does it upgrade? Will I lose root if I upgrade?
Thanks ahead of time for any help you can provide.
Cheers,
Matt
It should be 10f and if it is it does not break root.
Seriously, people are still only just getting the 10f OTA? What gives? How can it take so long to push a simple update like this out to ALL AT&T LG G3 users? Where abouts in the world are you Matt?
Generally if the phone is old stock this happens. Many new stock devices come out of the box with 10f
I got my phone yesterday from an att corporate store. Came with 10d and it's asking me to update. I declined for now.
It will eventually force the update but you can still root 10f with stump mine forced today. What a great update though all the aux problems are fixed now no more popping sound and no more having to put power cord in to get it to work
Haha apparently ota with custom recovery is a bad idea. Back to frozen updates for me.....
My G3 is on 10d and it tells me that mine is up to date.

How can I to update to the latest ota softare?

I have an HTC One M8 on Tmobile. I rooted it about a week ago not knowing the lollipop update would come out today. Now when i try to install the update it obviously fails. How can i update with the ota software. I don't care if i lose root in the process, I just want to install the update.
Should be able to unroot with super user and then take the ota, better yet would be to flash a custom rom.

(Please Correct me if i am wrong)
Will i stop recieving OTA Updates after i update?
No, you will still get updates from motorola.
Will This unlock my bootloader? Does this need bootloader to be Unlocked?
If you are Downgrading from soak test to Marshmallow firmware you will need your bootloader to be unlocked to do that.
Rest i dont think youll need unlocked bootloader.
What is The Security patch Details ?
It's First November , you can also check the review video to see.
Is this the Official Update?
Yes this is the Update by motorola.
Will it root my device ?
No it wont!
what about VoLTE support?
How would people who got the soak test ota and updated there phones earlier update to official version of Android 7 ? Is it through new ota?
Can't we just side load there official update as we did with the soak test ota? I mean others who are on soak test build and didn't receive the official update.

Is the thread not clear ? I will update the thread to be more specific.
If you are on soak test currently! Then the only way as far as i know to go to the Official update is by first downgrading to marshmallow and then flashing the New OTA via recovery , you cannot directly flash(sideload) the official ota on the nougat soak test.
That's because the update is for marshmallow devices and the ota checks before installing if the phone is running the latest official marshmallow only then it flashes.
how to root?
Just installed the OTA through sideloading.
So, i couldn't wait until it ACTUALLY gets rolled out to everyone, therefore I used the OTA zip to sideload it.
Initial impression - I was actually surprised by the lack of changes on Nougat. But that's just me having used a Pixel.
Anyways, the Notification dropdown/slide is different, and slightly counter-intuitive than MM. In MM it was easy to turn on or off WiFi/Bluetooth/Data (single tap), whereas in N, you'll need 2 taps. The transitions on the notification shade are liquid-smooth, so :good:
On init, it asked me to reconfigure my SIM, where i found a particularly interesting menu... Emergency contact information... Good stuff, don't know if it was available in MM.
A cool new feature is the fingreprint to lock... Great :good:
The settings have a slightly revamped UI, but not by that much... Still feels a lot like MM.
The app drawer is the same. Was actually stupid of me to expect the Pixel launcher.
Didn't feel any changes in camera (image/video).
Opening the lockscreen is a little laggy using pattern. Opening it through fingerprint is still lightning fast.
App loading & use still the same as MM (Maybe apps need additional updates to support N).
Battery life virtually the same as stock MM.
Oh, PS - Was on stock MM, locked bootloader. Updated to N without data wipe.
Hello, could any early adopter of nougat update for G4 Plus confirm one exciting feature of android 7 (atleast for me) that it works on this phone software.
As of Android 7.0 phone can read 2G/3G/LTE frequency WITHOUT root(Google RIL version 12). Easiest way is to install app Cellmapper(mapping cell towers to map) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cellmapper.net.cellmapper
Could anyone run this app(enable "Use new Android 4.2 Cell ID API" in settings) and post screenshot while connected to LTE only(no wifi)? Also, maybe send debug report from settings menu to developer with screenshot.
Thank you very much.
How do you prove that this is "official" and not another soak? There was no announcement from Lenovo /Moto.
Is this the same file like the one posted 2 days ago? It has the same name, same size... Did you just "stole" that without giving proper credit to jeash?

Again, those are not OFFICIAL Lenovo/Moto websites. Stop believing everything on the net.
Read my link, a Moto rep already responded today that is NOT.
I have some doubt, pls feel free to help me.
1. Do we get OTA updates after unlocking bootloader (no changes in recovery, system and all), and are we able to install it as normal OTA if we get one.
2. If its possible, then can i stay in mm after downgrading from soak nougat first blur version, untill i recieve official nougat from the company directly and flash it as normal.
Thanks in advance.

I got the update myself.
Sorry i didnt add credits. The second link(mirror) i gave is the the update that i got. And moreover i confirmed from motorola support and they said it has started to roll out in batches. They have also updated the release notes if you havent seen
https://motorola-mobility-en-in.custhelp.com/app/answers/prod_answer_detail/a_id/115401
I have owned previously Moto G 1st gen and 2nd Gen and in all of them to , you couldnt go from soak test to The official firmware with out unlocking bootloader. And i dont think this will be an exception but you guys can wait for the official release to hit everyone.
I have looked this morning and there where no release notes. I did check the site now is still no notice of upgrade:
https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/country-selector/software-upgrade
I guess this confusion is because of Moto...
There are any news about nougat for XT1641?
Hi, I tried to install it from MM on my 1642 and it gave me an error with signature verification

Help with Firmware Finder to get Nougat

Hi there
I am NXT-L29C636B193.
I have rooted or unlocked bootloader.
I have grown impatient with waiting now... I'm almost convinced Huawei won't update my device... It is still on June Patch...
I am in the UK, maybe why there has been no update...
How can I use Firmware Finder or other software to safely upgrade to Nougat without rooting? As I want to be able to use Android Pay in the future...
Firmware finder has been updated so it isn't as clear as before... Some of the updates displayed now say Full OTA but they used to say just OTA...?
Please help!
All advice is appreciated
Some of the updates shown on Firmware Finder has changed...
Notice the two screenshot, some used to say OTA but have changed to say Full OTA?

OTA Update to Oreo

Hey guys... Does anyone know when I should expect my update to Oreo OTA. I don't plan on becoming a beta tester or flashing it myself.
So if anyone has an idea of when Oreo will be pushed out to the masses, I'd appreciate it!
Thanks!

I'm in the same boat. No one knows yet. There are not even factory images available nor full OTA images on the google site here.
https://developers.google.com/android/images
Until such time as they appear don't sweat it. After they do then you can re-ask your question but you'll probably get it before you can hit send. Someone said they got an OTA on Verizon from 7.1.2 to 8.0 but I'm a little leery of that claim since no one else I've seen has received it.
I believe it was destined for the Aug 21 deadline but some major problems have arisen and I believe it was pulled for further testing. Bluetooth is one of them, random rebooting, stuff like was on some dp4 devices. I also saw some volume control issues too. Yes, I know others haven't had issues and someone will post a link to the factory images on the android site but that doesn't help any of us with locked bootloaders. Besides the fact that I like the background install and being able to use the phone while it's updating. Then a simple reboot and you're done. It'll happen soon but no one knows when yet.
I am in UK and I have already received for Oreo OTA on Google Pixel set.
It can be flashfire updated as well for root purpose.

So you were on stock 7.1.2, locked bootloader, not rooted and you received an OTA to 8.0? I'm not sure what you mean by flashfire updated. An OTA installs in the background.

I am on 7.1.2 unlock bootloader with root.
You should also have received ota update if you are on locked bootloader with no root.
Some of ota roll out dependent on carrier. But if yours is google set, you would be able to receive by now.

Well that's a bit of good news. One thing is that on G+ no one has posted the inevitable screenshot of the OTA notification (which are at best annoying but they do it anyway), so it must be rolling out very slowly. The other thing is that once an OTA is released the system images are usually available with the OTA images shortly thereafter. I don't see either of those at this point.
I mean I'm gonna wait and I'm sure it'll be here, but the question is when. I'm on VZW so they might be tweaking some things before the let Google release it. Not sure how that works.
Did yours install in the background and then a reboot to 8.0? How long was the bootup process if you watched it?
For carrier, like you said roll out will take some time. For me, time taken is similar to update and reboot as normal security patch monthly update where it should take longer as this is the whole different version. May be backbone still same but with just UI change and some tweaks.
