Found a reliable and easy way to root our device! (SM-T330) - Galaxy Tab 4 General

Hey guys, I found a way to root this device (finally)
It's easy and reliable.
Download King Root (Google it) and head on to their official website
Then, download apk to phone and install it.
Check root and then it will prompt to root it, and accept it.
I have it rooted, and now I'm using rooted features: P, try it out, really.
Do this at your own risk still, warned

this method works but it may be adware/spyware, i woild recommend you to flash twrp and flash new rom and wipe everything

I saw Philz Advanced twrp, and it's available for T330nu and not T330, which is mine. Can I flash it still via Odin?

Yep!
Kingroot works like a charm for most devices nd the best thing it isnt spyware.
You can even switch your superuser app to SuperSu using few simple commands!

Kingroot is incredibly efficient at identifying noobs who don't know the proper way to root these devices and if by not spyware you mean it actually copies your personal data and sends it to a Chinese server, then yeah, I guess it isn't spyware. Damn too many people falling for this kingroot nonsense, ugh

Guys, sorry for posting this. I had no idea it was bad.
I'm gonna flash a new ROM now, 'cause it may be dangerous

well, I am rooted and running a custom rom right now.thanks to @intika for the awesome Locky ROM dedicated to S4s with a locked bootloader. I did have to flash an AT&T modem to the device because wifi quit working, wouldn't even turn on, but a quick flash and BOOYA I'm rockin a totally tricked out custom ROM!

There is not root for 4.4 yet. I don't doubt it will be out in the next 1 or 2 months
So, has anyone upgraded this to Kit-Kat yet? I don't think we'll ever see it from AIO.
So the aio variant for sure has a locked bootloader?

Do you have root? I know there's a way to download and grab the zip from the phone if you have root. Otherwise the other method you suggested may work.
EDIT: Root method is easier as you just download, use file manager to get it from /cache, and then you can upload it for others. I don't know which root methods do and don't work for your device however. Logcat can be done, you'll just be looking through a lot of lines of logs possibly.

its true what you say, i have been trying logcat but it shows a ton of lines, and im searching for the hotword .zip or zip or update and no results give me a URL, maybe samsung is cloaking the update from logcat or they found a way to hide it, in my phone the root i know it works is kingo root, but when im rooted the phone does not let me download the update, it says "your phone has been modified, updates are not available"

Try installing Xposed Framework and Wanam Xposed, and use the fake Official system status option. I think that might fix it but I don't remember all it checks.

rooted successfully via towelroot!!!

This is my first time posting so I figured sharing my successful attempt to root using towelroot would be a good starting point..
I realize someone may have already beat me to it but I wanted to let ppl know you should be able to root using the awesome new app towelroot. Things to consider though.. I was on 4.3 ML1.. This was very exciting for me as my PC will not recognize my siii so the fact I was able to do this straight from the device itself is just great news.. Didn't think I could root without a PC.. Well, until now.. This is SO AWESOME! now to install some xposed mods . Happy rooting v

easiest root i've ever done.... used to having to odin... also, i used a third party root check to verify that it wasn't just teasing me... if i weren't unemployed and broke i'd definitely donate...

Not useless. Can root, remove bloat, use ad blocker, tether, some people are using xposed, etc. Just may not be able to run any custom ROMs yet. Safestrap may work to run custom ROMs, but I have not seen an NC1 kernel module. So you would not have WiFi running safestrap on NC1.

or does installing another rom using safestrap kill the wifi?
final question: is safestrap the culprit for the wifi not working?
I've done this successfully however tethering is not working. Can anyone confirm? What do I need to do to get tethering working?

They will hardbrick if they attempt to install CWM or TWRP on TW 4.3 or KitKat firmware. Hasn't worked before when people tried using Odin or GooManager to install custom recoveries on VRUCML1 and I'm confident it will be the same result here. I need video proof proving the opposite.
If you are referring to Towelroot, yes this will work on all three.

i just did this on my new KK g2, already had 4.4.2 on it when i got it friday and i asked this question in another thread, but didnt get a response. so this method of rooting will not keep us from getting future OTAs but will more than likely loose root, is that what you are saying? and that this method may not work on say 4.4.3 or 4.4.4 (which just hit the nexus 5)?

Duties otas will probably beak root, yes.. And threes methods may not work.. But, who's saying that 4.4.3 comes to the G2, as it just saw 4.4.2.
4.5 is right around the corner..

Thanks for posting this. I've gone through a long drawn out process trying to install a custom recovery on my d801 G2. I tried flashify, twrp installer, freegee, nothing worked for my phone. Have had to revert back to stock multiple times because my phone wouldn't function properly. Stock with root now what?

so I am still on the stock rom I never flashed a new rom be4 on this s5
I don't mind the stock rom but have some questions.
I am being prompted for 2 updates!
1 is the software update
2 is the security policy update
what happens if I accept them? will I loose root?
& what should i do and if so could I remove the nag?

If you accept the updates and if it goes through, yes, you would lose the root.
Are you sure you are completely rooted? Because you shouldn't be receiving those update notifications if you are.

Yes, you will lose root for sure because that's what happened to my friend. However, after update I re-rooted for him. I know it's tedious but that's what you have to go through.
Or u can download the ota file in zip format & flash using recovery. It'll work as long as you are using stock ROM with no modifications. & most likely you won't lose root

I don't think so. After update the phone might not boot & keep going into recovery. I suggest u flash stock recovery & then update & fish twrp again. Or you could try your luck and update & let's see what happens.

That's basically the worst answer to any question ever asked!
I expect google to replace human interaction any day now!
Can anyone point me to stock recovery or tell me if it's safe to update with out bricking my device?

I believe this is the latest stock file. It will un-root your phone and put it in stock.

Can we change the the system language from Italian to English? And does the new fw recognize other phone networks outside of Italy?

I see. Still, I heard there are problems concerning the new FW about the tablet being unrooted if you flash KK on it and the samsung logo not appearing in the booting screen. Is there any way for the root to stay? I already know that there are a few bug issues in the software like the fast battery drain and I can handle that but the root though...I don't really want my device being bricked or whatever. I'm still a newbie about this so I wanted to find more information if possible before doing anything first.

I know it's official and everthing but that's not what I'm worried about. My tablet's already rooted with a custom rom and a blackhawk kernel in it. I read from the other posts that you'd be stuck in the booting screen if you flash the KK due to the logo missing and that you'll lose the root and will never be rooted again due to KK leaving a signature on the build or something. I'm not exactly sure what steps to take to prevent it though and I wanted to flash KK so bad. I just want to know if anyone knows how to flash KK in my already rooted tablet without encountering those two issues I just stated above.
Anyone?

You can always get root access again either by pre-rooting the firmware or by a custom recovery image in several different ways.

I don't think I can do the pre-rooting one. My computer doesn't run in Linux and I'm currently out of the country (and probably will be for months) to do anything about it.
Can you please tell me how to do it using custom recovery? You mentioned that there are different ways to do it?
