Confused: Best How-to Guide for N920T Root - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note5

Hi All,
I just got my N920T 64GB with the N920TUVS2COKC baseband
There are a bunch of root guides here and on other sites and I am super confused on which is the latest method to follow.
Can someone recommend the best guide/thread for this?
Also need a ROM recommendation, would like something optimized with xposed framework, no need for fancy skins, clocks or tweaks.
Something like the Note 3 / 4 FireKat ROMs would be the best.
Just FYI, I came from Note 3 N900A on towelroot with Safestrap 3.75 TWRP on the FireKat Build 24xxx Rom.
Thanks all for your advice!!!

@TEKHD has probably the best guide with all the steps and files. If you can't follow that you probably shouldn't root. Good luck

Tek's guide is the one to use.
As for rom I'd go with Tek's rom, as well.

I liked firekat, too. And, it's what I'm using.

+1. Tek's is the best. However, make sure you flash another kernel after you use Noble Kernel to root. Noble kernel is not stable for daily use.
After you've followed the guide, flash Arter97's Kernel v11 or SkyHigh v4.

following tek's guide, it ask to flash aoge write fix, does it work in N920TUVS2COKC?

It does

which kernel i can use beside skyhigh and arter, I tried arter and seems a lil sluggish even with cache wiped. i prefer something close to stock.

[POLL] Kernel Knowledge

I am experienced with rooting and flashing Roms, but I have never flashed a Kernel. I know how to and I know why I would need/want to. I am just wondering what I need to do if I decide to flash a different Rom or even return to stock Rom. Example: If I flash a Kernel while running The Executioner 3 Rom for my rooted Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III, would I need to restore that Rom's original Kernel before flashing a different custom or stock Rom?
Re: [Q] Kernel Knowledge
Depends on the kernel.
Check kernel thread.
But I doubt you will have any problems
sent from that young galaxy s3!

So pretty much I would just be able to wipe data and cache and flash new rom as usual?

Nah when you flash a new rom, it flashes its own packaged kernel as well. If you flash a newer version of that rom, say Executioner 3.5 was released, it would also flash its own kernel so you would need to reflash your other custom kernel if you wanted that back. If you're moving between different roms, you wipe and clear away all of the previous mods/kernels/etc that you flashed from your prior rom.
Questions and help go in Q&A
I changed the title to reflect a POLL rather than question
FNM
what i do is set up rom to my liking, make a nandroid, then flash kernel, if i dont like the kernel i go back back to my nandroid.
Thank you all for the great answers.

does anyone have an official debloated 2.3.6

Hello, i'm looking for an official debloated 2.3.6 firmware for the sgs4g..
I was wondering if anyone has it? I know there is a debloat zip creator, but that doesn't work through the stock recovery...
I don't want the 2.3.6 with kc1 because that creates a bug with the sdcard constantly having to be read....
Thanks for you help

Hope this help you.
Another alternative is to install the Blastoff Kernel @bhundven made, you can grab it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1828171
It will give you root on your rom which will allow you to use my debloater so you can pick exactly which apps you want to remove. It will also give you the option of upgrading to a more recent ROM. I would actually recommend this seeing that there are a lot of problems with running 2 year old software and I feel that the current batch of kit kat roms available are at a state that you can use them as daily drivers with no major issues.

[You are probably wondering why a BOA8 rom. It is so old. Well this is the first STOCK rom I have built for the S5.

I am new to the Samsung develpoment world so bear with me!!
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Wipe system, data, cache
2. Install Rom
3. flash BOA8 in odin or you may flash any other Lollipop firmare such as OC4 in safestrap(I could not find a flashable firmware for BOA8 Rom is deodexed, knox free, busybox installed, prerooted, fairly fast, zipaligned and freshly cooked.

Root SM-N915FY 5.1.1 COJ2

Hi Everybody,
I'm a very happy owner for more than a year of a wonderful Note Edge. I'm getting a little bored and I'm looking for a safe and easy way to root my phone without if possible implement Knox (and in top of that I'm a Mac User...).
Any advices ? What do you think of Kingroot or Oneclickroot ? Possible ?
Thanks in advance for your kind help !!!
not possible, you need custom Kernel like Micki`s Kernel!

As far as I now there are 3 possible "rooted" ROMs to try:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-edge/development/rom-micky387lollifamous5-1-1v1-t3200849
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-edge/development/rom-edgerom-coh2-5-1-1-lp-deodex-t3197069
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-edge/development/riverrom-coh2-5-1-1-s6e-note5-feature-t3203799
using 2 different "permissive" kernel kernels (from micky387 and Pafcholini @emotroid Team) :good:
Now, with SuperSU beta 2.60 or 2.61 it's possible root Note Edge without custom kernel.
Has anyone used this N915FY rom (COJ2) to Deodex/Zipalign & remove KNOX?
(pre-rooting it's no neccesary now if you flash new supersu 2.6x zip from TWRP/CWM as mentioned above).
I'm trying to do it by myself using ArchiKitchen by @JustArchi but I'm having problems trying to run this tool from windows 8.1 with Cygwin.
If someone have already done the job (basically zipalign/deodex and remove KNOX) please upload it and give us the link
PD: Maybe deodex the rom it's no necessary (I've tried stock rom and it's quite fast. What I really need now it's to remove KNOX related apps and services).

If the drKetan Rom port works.. the N7 will follow for shure. End of the month i will have time to begin flashing.. got a lot of reading to do for porting and building. Got some guides and tutorials from other XDA members how to do it.
Kitchens and tools need to be installed.. even need to create a virtual Ubuntu drive.. As Ubuntu is new for me, this will be a very good learning project.
