My phone stopped working all of a sudden, and when I restarted it entered the fast boot mode iteratively.
If I select recovery or normal boot, or whatever it says the same msg, "recovery image not valid".
The phone was unrooted, so I thought of rooting it.
I dont remember the status of usb debugging in my phone was on/off, now no chance to check it either.
But i could run the commands from the cmd to get the unlock data code, as well i received the code from Motorola to unlock.
When I tried the fastboot oem unlock (20 digit Unlock code)
I used to get a reply: Unlock data invalid!
Failed (failed remotely)
And some time info of time ~10s.
I also ran the getvar all command & noted the cid= 0x0007 (I dont remember count of 0's but ending was 7 which I found the device is unlockable)
I live in India & the device is not network restricted and I have bought it from flipkart.com which was sole retailer of Moto devices in India.
Can someone plz help....
Thanks,
Swapneel

Hello,
so i have rooted my LG using instructions from this - link but i have not got polish laguage and i can't sent any SMSs or call anyone. I thought that i would acctualy change my system to Cyanogen, so i decided to unlock my phone using LG's manual and here is my problem, I can't get my device id, when i type 'adb reboot bootloader' everything looks fin but then when i type 'fastboot oem device-id' there is 'waiting for device' all time. I have installed those drivers manually and using SDK, I am not sure if i did it right but i have no idea what to do, i am not very familiar with this whole stuff as you can see.
After downgrading my device there was a information 'device locked - (...) you can unlock your device by device unlocker app' but this app says that there is a problem with unlocking my card and It stays locked, so i can't use network or call anybody.
I hope You can help me guys, anyway thank You in advance.
I am about to lose my mind if I cant figure this out.
I have an LG Stylo 2 Plus model LG-K530F, and i have been trying to root it for several hours
I have certainly clicked the "Enable OEM Unlock" option, but no matter how many times I try the command on ABD, it will not work
I have made sure that my computer recognizes the device, and from the command prompt can successfully boot it into fast boot with "adb reboot bootloader"
I've poured through all sorts of threads and forum posts about other lg stylo 2's with different model numbers, I've factory reset the phone preemptively from suggestions, yet no matter what I try, I cannot get past "fastboot oem unlock"
And just to be sure, I have done a "fastboot flashing get_unlock_ability" just to make absolutely sure I allowed to unlock it.
It just *won't* for some reason
"fastboot getvar unlocked" tells me that it is not unlocked already
"fastboot oem lock" works and says its already locked
Does anyone have any help for me? Any suggestions? A thread or post I haven't seen yet?
The phone itself seems to imply that i need a code from LG to unlock it, there is a part on the fastboot menu that says "2) Write Unlock Key - fastboot flash unlock unlock.bin" but the LG developer website does not support this phone, so i wont be able to get one from them
lol yes you need the unlock bin from LG...
good luck
I have found a way to unlock bootloader again! (if the normal fastboot command does not work for you!)
I had mine bootloader re-locked for some stupid reason. And my phone stayed at Lenovo logo, So no booting or flashing custom roms again. I had giving up the hope. But after searching on some Chinese website. I found a way and it WORKED! I have now again a unlocked bootloader.
The website is in Chinese but don't worry people you just need to fill in some small data.
1: go to the website : https://www.zui.com/iunlock
fill box 1 your IMEI 1
fill box 2 your SERIAL key (the key that you get when you connect to fastboot and use the command 'Fastboot Devices')
fill box 3 your email
fill box 4 the security code that you see to the right of it ( Four numbers )
check the last box, as accepting the rules for warranty blabla. And click the BLUE BIG button
Now wait and have patience! After a while you will get a email with a file in it. Download that file and put it in your adb folder.
now check your device first if its connected and that you see the serial.
- > Fastboot devices <-
If YES than continue...
Use the command :
Fastboot flash unlock (name_of_the_file).img
after that use command:
fastboot oem unlock-go
And your bootloader is UNLOCKED AGAIN !!! :highfive::good::laugh:
Phone is back to life
Disclaimer: sharing your imei is not safe, other people can easily duplicate it on other phones. Google: ''why you shouldn't share your imei''.
Use this as your last resort if your phone doesn't boot or is bricked. Use a fake imei, follow the process and once or phone is unlocked, update the imei using the link @sth0r created on xda to fix imei for the lenovo z5

In this case the fastboot command is wrong.
You want to boot the phone up to the landing screen and enter ADB devices in your command prompt. Enter That.
You can also get the correct serial by opening the dialer app and entering *#06# in your touch phone pop-up keypad
Hope that helps!
This was helpful, It worked for me. Thanks.
Guide outdated - this worked for me now
Phone: ZUK Z2 Plus (Z2131)
After having tried many times following this tutorial and never receiving any E-Mail, I found a rather simple solution that worked:
I didn't really expect it to work, so this is from memory, wordings may differ a bit.
First: make backup of your data!
Make sure you have updated ZUI to the latest available version.
Enable developer options ( From your device go to " About -> ZUI version" , scroll down and click " build number " continuously until you see "You are now a developer")
Go to developer Options and look for the toggle "Allow OEM Unlock" (or similar) and set it to enable. Confirm.
Reboot.
The phone automatically performs a factory reset (All Data lost!).
Now you can continue with flashing custom recovery (TWRP) and ROM.
For example use Lineage OS. Instructions: (Sorry, can't post the link)
Finally I can enjoy the phone with custom ROM and up-to-date Android 10.
Is this why I can't see my device when it is in fast boot mode or boot loader mode?

You are liar.
This solution will not work, because bootloader still will be locked at this state
It's an old phone, I wanna root it, but no matter what I do "OEM Unlock" never shows up in the settings. I've reset the thing multiple times, changed the date, messed with auto updates a lot, but nope never shows up.
Some info that's probably useful. I got this phone from straight talk (a Walmart carrier, don't ask why it's a long story yes I know it was a terrible idea, Walmart was lying to us saying we needed to buy a phone from them and I didn't want to fight), and when trying to root it a friend who knows a lot more than I do told me to enter odin mode, and instead of that, in big red text (slightly covered by the camera) it says "entering fastboot mode...", (shown below) and doing "fastboot devices" spits out "R9AN90BYY5J" as the fastboot device, so I don't know.
I tried doing it via pc but when I do "fastboot oem unlock" (because apparently its not a real samsung phone so i should use fastboot) it says "
FAILED <remote: 'unknown command'>
Fastboot: error: Command failed"
from what I've heard (from a source I don't remember, and the same friend) apparently you just can't root us model phones, I tried all of this on my Galaxy A50 as well (I got it from inland cellular and apparently it's a verizon model phone, might have something to do with me going through verizon I don't know, but it is a real samsung phone) and oem unlock still never shows up. So am I just screwed?
This post is more like an explanation.
So my phone got bricked today, stuck at logo. I managed to access recovery and format data, but its stuck at formating data for more than 6 hour.
The only choice left is to unlock bootloader and flash firmware. Now here's the bull**** part.
When i try press fastboot oem unlock it says failed, device state locked. Device state can be set to unlock only through one method, by booting>going into settings>developer options>turning on oem unlocking. Doing this set your device in unlocked device state and thus allow it to unlock bootloader through fastboot. But, if your device got bricked and can't get into phone and your oem unlocking was off (average person will not set it to on) then you're ****ed, cuz without it you cannot unlock bootloader, thus you cannot install twrp or flash firmware.
This is so dumb, not even adb can set the device state to unlock. Read the last paragraph - (https://source.android.com/devices/bootloader/locking_unlocking)
There are so many post like these but no answer. so this post is for those guyz.
guess, i'll use feature phone for rest of my life
That an Android device's bootloader is locked by default isn't dumb, it has good reasons.
BTW: Flashing device's Stock ROM doesn't require device's bootloader got unlocked before.
tried flashing stock rom using adb sideload and fastboot. both failed. adb states that it cannot as it is a downgrade. fastboot says that device state is locked.
Yes, im aware that it is present for a good reason, but someone who's phone doesnt boot up has no way to unlock bootloader or do anything.
I'm not sure that I have the same problem but I have Samsung sm-t500 on the download mode says : device state lock and Im searching for FRP software but I think it won't happen because I tried too to connect via ADB and still can't connect.. But mine is still not bricked.. I will be very happy if you can give me some advice
