[ROM][MM] Bliss Rom for T31x - Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 Android Development

Thread Closed....All support focus has moved to Lineage.
I take no credit for the features of this rom as it is an unofficial build and I am not a part of the Bliss Roms development team.
I am creating this thread as a place to discuss development of unofficial Bliss Rom builds for the T31x devices. Those of you that have been around here for a while already know that I tend to get busy with other stuff and disappear a times. So, with that said, if you would like to contribute to the development of this rom, please feel free to do so. I can make you a contributor and you will have the ability to modify this OP as required.
Bliss is one of the most highly customizable roms that you can install on your mobile device, and we hope you have a truly blissful experience.
A huge thanks to CyanogenMod for the source and all the work and dedication their team puts in to keep us updated.
Bliss is CM13 based, with some features added in from various roms.
BlissRoms Website
FEATURES:
See THIS thread for a more robust official thread with feature list.
What Doesn't Work:
- Bluetooth audio has issues
- External SDCard will not work as "internal" storage
INSTALLATION
First time installing Bliss to your Galaxy Tab 3 8.0, or coming from another ROM
- Make sure you're running latest TWRP 3.0.2-0
- Copy GApps and Bliss zips to your internal or external SDCard
- Boot into Recovery
- DO A DATA WIPE / FACTORY RESET
- Flash Bliss zip
- Flash GApps zip
- Reboot
Updating to a newer version of THIS rom ("dirty" flash)
- Boot into Recovery
- Flash rom zip (no need to re-flash gapps or wipe anything)
- Reboot
If you have any issues after doing a "dirty" flash, do a clean install before reporting any problems.

Hi bro,
Installing Xposed uninstaller:
1. To avoid boot loop.
2. To upgrade Xposed Framework to V80.
Gapps:
Nope I don't forgot. No need to re-install Gapps, since it has been installed on previous Bliss-20160121, where I came from.

@Ibbi786
Since you came from other ROM, then you have to do clean install as instructions on OP.
Happy flashing bro
Wish you luck!
PS:
Do not forget to do nandroid backup just in case and backup your apps and its data using TB or similar app.

OK, I am on BLISS but can restore the apps, while restoring using Titanium Backup, it giver errors insufficient storage even tho 2GB is available but the boot animation and keyboard are cool, didn't explore much...

AOSPA v4.1-beta is up. Be aware that there is no PIE yet (for non-nexus devices). The code is still being worked on.
Is there a reason that quiet hours were removed?

I believe it was removed because the code was considered hacky. The code is going to be reworked.
Cool stuff!
Thanks for bringing it to us as well Bryan :good::good:
Thanks, it seems this is one of the most recent roms.
It says -beta on title, does this mean this is in testing stage or is it stable?
Is there a CWM or TWRP version requirement? I have twrp_2.6.3.0_kitkat_skyrocket_vincom currently installed, can I use this to flash this rom?
Thanks!

It's beta because other AOSPA features aren't available yet. Otherwise, the ROM is pretty much stable.
As for recovery, TWRP 2.6.10 is recommended. But test and see if that recovery works.

Big up to the devs behind this one, PA is by far the best Android distro I've found, I was scared for a bit after KK was released, didn't see much about PA + KK for skyrocket. I actually prefer the 2.99 4.12 over all the PA released for skyrocket to date, but looking forward to this one!
Update: most stable KK rom on skyrocket so far. Even though it's pretty well stock aosp, I'll rock it. Build.prop for dpi setting (just so I could handle it)

Installation Instructions
ALWAYS MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP FIRST!
Coming from another rom/clean install:
Reboot to recovery, flash required firmware
Wipe system, cache, dalvik/art cache, data
Flash rom zip and gapps
Reboot
Updating from a previous build/dirty flash:
Wipe system, cache, dalvik/art cache in recovery
Flash rom zip, gapps and any other zips you may use
Reboot
Never dirty flash from one rom to another
SuperSU will no longer be required on builds with Magisk, as these are rolled out, you will be notified
Substratum support is there as long as you have root and latest Substratum app.
If you have any issues, grab a log after a clean flash, upload and link here please. Add steps to reproduce the issue in your post.
Do not report issues dirty flashing this over some unofficial build or with some kernel flashed.
Logcat Extreme app is great as you can choose to start recording a log just before reproducing an error and stop recording just after so you log just the part you need.
Xposed is not supported here, if you want to run it and have issues, try an Xposed thread for support and bug reports here only welcome with a clean install with no Xposed present.
Make sure to state which rom you are running when asking for support

Also does the alert slider thing work?

Thats what i tried next but no luck.
What phhsuperuser did you flash just superuser.zip from his buildbot website?
EDIT: I flasher phhsuperuser.zip and it seems to work but it just automatically lets the apps have root access without any prompt lol Tried two different superuser APKS and still get no prompt weird.
Just one quick question:
Is this ROM crypted or not ? (I hope not...)
Thanks.

Thank you very much for making this rom
FOR GOD'S SAKE, MAN! I'm fed enough with this. What's the problem? Why is UI so slow? Why does any rom except stock based are so slow? You should rebuild your sources. Your CM11 and CM13 are like this as well.
Look, I know Adreno 203 is not that powerful, but come on. How can Samsung handle this when you can't?
Maybe you should reconsider using GT-I8552's sources. At least the graphical one.
Also, music stutters on CM11. Governors are buggy when asleep.

Hey have u try build kernel with this https://github.com/ali-filth/android_kernel_samsung_msm7x27a?files=1 kernel source branch cm-11.0? This kernel is design to galaxy core device taken from samsungopensource for gt i826x (not core duos variant) maybe it can be done for Bluetooth and other known issue, and try to compile with GCC 4.7 to avoid random reboot

Installation Instructions
ALWAYS MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP FIRST!
Coming from another rom/clean install:
Reboot to recovery, flash required firmware
Wipe system, cache, dalvik/art cache, data
Flash rom zip and gapps
Reboot
Updating from a previous build/dirty flash:
Wipe system, cache, dalvik/art cache in recovery
Flash rom zip, gapps and any other zips you may use
Reboot
Never dirty flash from one rom to another
Builds are rootless, so to be rooted, flash your SU of choice
Substratum support is there as long as you have the latest Substratum app. You can now use Substratum on Pie with GZOSP/ Validus without root if you install this key apk:
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603915176
Also enable "Force authorize every theme app" in developer options.
If you have Magisk installed, Substratum will still ask for root but will still work. This way you can use it with or without root.
Choose to build and update your chosen overlays, reboot, then enable in Manager section of Substratum app.

Those empty sections are yet to be populated as this is an early build, it's the same on all devices, but as features are added you'll see them in the relevant sections. To customise buttons, go to settings, system, buttons. Have you tried going there and changing the action for long press/ double tap on your home button?
sim card working on this rom?
i have a problem with sim card detection on android 8 & 9.
updating bootloader and modem dosent work for me.

Please use only english in the forum. I am very bored with this situation. If you are not familiar with roms, I suggest you do some research. Android 9 roms is currently the most stable but Android 10 roms is not stable now.

Installed yesterday and so far so good on my RS988. Love how it already includes a launcher based on lawnchair2 (which is what I used anyway).
I'm having the same issue I've had with LOS though and it's kind of annoying, was wondering if you could look into it? With the default messaging app, if the phone is in a deep sleep (ie screen is off for 30-40+ minutes) notifications don't pop-up until I turn on the screen. Using the google Messaging app, this doesn't happen, however the LED blink doesn't work. And yes I have both pop-up notifications on and LED blink enabled. This started happening ever since LOS16.
Anyway, really appreciate the build. Great work.
Thanks for the build!
