Thanks a lot man for helping btw pendrive works with this on miui eu rom ?
YES if the stick is formatted FAT32 - for NTFS exFAT etc... you will need third party software available at the play store.......
I had a problem with one single USB 3.0 stick which simply is not recognized. But two other USB 3.0 worked fine. So i think its an incompatibiliy issue.

How did you connect your drives ? Via adapter?
yes via Adapter C male to A female (linked in post #4)
i couldn't get it to work with a usb otg adapter + a xiaomi type c adapter
Tested using this otg cable from ali express:
w w w.aliexpress.com/item/2016-New-Arrival-Micro-USB-C-3-1-Type-C-Male-to-USB-3-0-Cable/32522054659.h t m l
(remove the spaces from start and end)
and usb flash, mouse and keyboard are all working fine with my Xiami Mi 4c. OTG won't work using the micro usb converter (also tried and tested). Only the direct USB Type C OTG cable will work as the one in the above link.

What is the reason behind not working with micro usb adapter? Does anybody know?

As per my understanding, it has to do with the difference in standards of type C and normal micro usb. Therefore the converter only works for charging n data transfer and not while u use the port in host mode (for usb flash and other peripherals).

I'm pretty sure it's because USB type C and USB type A use different lanes/wires (physical) for transferring data and the adapter links up different ones. That's just the standard I'm afraid.
Suppoted
after much testing it works with every native usb type c flash memory or other. that means that if u use an adapter from micro usb to usb type c or an otg adapter it won't work.

I've got an existing OTG cable with micro USB. Does that work for things like thumb drives and mice using the adapter?
If not, would this work?
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0194WSKOM/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A21TE5CLHZDYA7&psc=1
thanks..
It comes with a USB-C to USB-A adapter in the box. You should be able to plug your thumb drive or mouse into that.

I don't know why they would get rid of something as old as OTG support so I'm assuming that yes it will work.
yes otg works and the samsung smart switch lets you plug one phone into the other and transfer data
Just reading through the AT&T manual: it states clearly that OTG will not work through the supplied USB connector (p9). Nor can you use it to charge the Note 7 from a computer (p12).
With built-in battery too - hope the Note 7 isn't just another pretty fetish.

It is a DAC/Preamp. So you use the included microUSB to USB C adapter for your OTG cable?
Yup

idk but all my jump drives work just fine, same as my s7 edge.
just plug them into the usb c otg and tranfer files via samsung file app
Ok. I just realized that there is an otg usb to usb c adapter in the box. That one actually works just fine with my external dac.

I can't get my Oppo HA-2 DAC to work at all. I tried using the included adapters but nothing. I went and bought a USB - USB C cable and that also didn't work. The only way I have been able to get audio is to use a standard charging cable (USB - MicroUSB) and put the USB C adapter on the MicroUSB end. However this charges the Oppo from the Note 7 and I can't disable that. Will burn through the battery in no time! Not sure what else to try at this stage
+1 I have successfully used a SanDisk 8gb flash drive with an aftermarket Rankle usb adapter. I have an AT&T Note 7.
Cheers

I use the included USB-USB C adapter with a USB -USB Mini(?) and my Fiio Alpen. As you mentioned, the Note7 charges the DAC. This also happened with my Note4. You should be able to use a wireless charging pad to charge the Note7 at the same time. That's what I did when I was transferring files between phones. It's transportable but not very mobile.
My little micro usb fan does NOT work with the included usb 3 to microusb connector. So, i'm gonna assume OTG doesnt work as it used to.
Hi,
I'm trying to use the iRig UA Accessory with my LG G5, I'm connecting by an OTG Micro USB Type B to Micro USB Type B cable with a Type C adapter.
Sadly, the iRig doesn't turn on and is not recognized.
When using the same iRig on PC or Nexus 5, everything is fine. Does anybody know what's wrong here?
May it be caused by the adapter?

The B Micro to C adapters are for charging only.. you would need a Type C OTG adapter and a standard B micro to Type A cable (like used to a normal computer) to hook it up.
Edit: Tested a normal USB sound device (Cmedia based) usb audio works.

Glad to help . Perhaps some day someone will make a Type C OTG direct to B Micro cable that will make your device setup more streamlined.
I've been looking around for an OTG cable that will work with my Mi 4c and haven't got any guarantees from any I've viewed that it will work with Mi 4c. I know for sure the 4c supports OTG. Does anyone know of a cable that works?
You need to have Type-C OTG converter, there are alot on Ali Express sold with reference to Nexus 5x & mi4c

The OTG cable has been tested to work (Nexus device and Xperia) and the adapter works for data sync. I have only tried with USB though, so that might be the issue
Hello !
Problem is more that a lot of USB sticks/devices are not recognized. The adpaters that I have worked well, but only every third USB stick.

I ordered this one:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Elo..._2&btsid=c8d2641a-70b4-46fd-bad6-ec0e0eede4ed
works perfectly. It arrived today after about 3 weeks. Working perfectly with my NTFS formatted HP 8GB and Kingston 16GB Flash Drives. My HP USB flash drive is v220w and Kingston's is Data Traveler 2.0
you need to reformat with Allocation unit not more than 16kb if your flash drive isnt recognized. I keep mine at 8kb while formatting.
Nice

You can easily make otg out of a micro USB cable and female port. There are various tutorials on YouTube for that.

Hi guys.
*
I tried connecting my new Pixel 2 to my PC and it wont work, it says it´s charging but the notification where I can click and change from "charging" to "transfer files" will not show up. I am trying this with a USB2 A to Micro-USB cable connected to a MicroUSB to USB-C adapter. Worked perfectly on my Xiaomi Mi A1 but not on the Pixel 2 and even though this is such an expensive smarphone Google decided not to include a USB A to USB C cable (or some headphones, for that matter) I cant connect my phone to the PC and transfer my music to it! I have tried the USB3 port, the USB2 back and fron ports, to no avail.
Can someone please help?

Cheers

Did you go to settings - connected devices - USB?
Of course i did it. Doesn't help. I used usb-c cable from HTC10, but it's doesn't fit good with port in my Pixel 2. Maybe it is problem. But with stock cable i cannot connect Pixel with my PC.

I didn't use stock cable from my Pixel 2 but cable from my HTC10. At one end it's usb-c, and at the other end it is USB - and this side i plug to my PC.

You said "but with stock cable I cannot connect to PC". For a moment I thought you connected the stock cable and it didn't work.
No i mean that i cannot connect because there is no USB at the end.

same issue here!try use other cable ,turn on the USB debug mode, install the ADB driver already, but not work
Probably a dumb question, but did you 'enable usb debugging' in Dev mode? You didn't mention it in the OP, so I had to ask.
i download the google usb driver then follow the guide and fix it

Agreed.

One thing I recommend is trying to find the cable originally with the device. Or, try to find a "DATA TRANSFER" cable, some cables only charge the device. I have the same problem, I just have a USB-C to USB-C cable, cause I do not have the Pixel 2 XL. Sucks there is no headphone jack. Any ideas? Maybe where I can get a working cable? I need one for my phone, cause I record my YouTube videos with it.
