Music interrupted by notifications - General Questions and Answers

Hello, I am using my samsung galaxy s6 edge (SM-G925F) and I find that the most annoying thing in that device or the android most is that when I listen to music it got interrupted by a notification so the music stops for a second to play the notification sound and then continue and even not where the music stops at and that really annoying me so much
I tried too much methods to solve that one of them that I used to mute the notification from settings/sounds but I found that is not quite in my hand because not every time I'll remember to turn it on after finishing listen so it's not good
The second one is to downloading an app called Don't Pause and I found that app is quite useful but a one problem, that's muting the whole phone and putting it to vibrant mode and I don't want to put the phone completely silent so I thinked that when I pay to the donate version I've got that feature that is muting only the notification not the whole phone but no, I didn't find any difference between the both so why I would pay for something not useful. Is there any app can do that job but just muting the notifications?
So please I want a permanent solution for that problem because I am getting sick

Audio starting on it's own

About a week ago my phone was on my desk at home and for no reason a song that is on my phone started playing. I use doubleTwist and the widget didn't show it was playing, but when I pressed the play button then pause button it stooped. I figured no big deal, just a bug. Well I was in a meeting at work and my phone started playing a podcast I was listening to. Just happened to be on some vulgar talk and the phone was LOUD. I pulled out my phone as quick as I could and stopped it, but a little too late. Everyone had heard more then I would have liked them to.
So now I need to know. What the hell might be causing this and how do I stop it? If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Thanks.
Sent from my Samsung Captivate
Mine has done it on every captivate rom, stock and cog. Since I flashed others, it doesn't happen anymore. No clue why it was happening.
This has happened to me once or twice, but it's always been one of two things:
* Installed new app that has 'default ringtone notifications' and the default ringtone really isn't -- just the first one on the ringtone list
solution: Find offending app and correct ringtone.
* Installed .apk or framework mod that has some non-existent ringtone. It seems the next notifcation will be a random one.
solution: trudge through all notification settings everywhere until you find the offender.

Txt message Notification breaks sound!!

Has anyone else experienced this? when I have my phone hooked up to my car stereo aux jack to listen to music.. I get a text and then no sound, until I receive another text!! its like to txt notification is muting the music and then not un-mutting after the notification is complete. this was happening on stock un-rooted phone and on all other roms too!!! its the reason why i rooted it.. and im still stuck with this problem, I have to send texts to myself to get the sound working again.
oh and how in the heck do you keep it from announcing the person that is messaging you? it is quite annoying, i just want a simple notification.. not a name or a number being called out for every one to hear.
well I take it im the only one with this problem???!!

i changed to handcent to see if that would help and yes I have changed player and neither of those help.. how do you keep it from reading peoples name outloud when a text comes in without putting the phone on silent?

To answer your question, I have the same problem too. Never tried sending myself a text to get it working. I just boot into recovery and then clear cache and reboot.
As for the phone telling you who's texting you here's your fix to that.
1. Go to Settings
2. Go into Voice input and output
3. Go into text-to-speech settings
4. Check to see if Driving mode is checked.
If it is this is what makes your phone talk to you.
5. Go into Driving mode settings
6. Now uncheck what you don't want your phone to say out loud.

New message tone with headphones plugged in even in silent mode

Hi.
This is probably the most annoying problem I've got with this phone. Basically, when your headphones are plugged in and you're trying to enjoy some music, receiving a text message results in a loud and clear "beep" tone. I understand it could be useful at times, for example when the screen is off and you actually care about any messages you may get, but most of the time it makes it pretty much impossible to listen to any kind of music at all, because the sound can be really disturbing.
The problem is that the tone can still be heard, even if you enable all "silent" modes and what not. That includes the "no disturb" mode as well, but it doesn't deliver any less disturbance, go figure.
I could think of two solutions to that, first would be to just go into the airplane mode, which is suboptimal for obvious reasons and it also won't work at all if you stream your music (when there are no WiFi networks nearby). The second thing I've yet to try is to set a silent audio file as the message tone to see if it removes the beep sound. I'll have to try it later.
Let me know guys what do you think about this matter and what other solutions come to your mind. Maybe there's a way to disable the feature in the settings somewhere, which I just wasn't able to find myself?

[Workaround] Notifications interrupting media playback

I've been searching around the web and have not found an answer to this problem. Regardless of the phone being on silent, vibrate, or even do not disturb, text notifications still interrupt the music that is playing. It happens with Google Play Music, Pandora, and Spotify.
I downloaded a couple apps to manage media and notification volumes individually, but one didn't work at all, and the other simply muted the notification but the music still lowers for a second, as if the notification is still occuring.
Can anyone help me out? This is quite frustrating.
Please, and thank you for your time.
Update: I noticed this only occurs with a headset plugged in or connected via Bluetooth. When using the phone's speakers for music playback, notifications do not interrupt the music.
Workaround: I managed to find a slightly more bearable solution. Here is basically what I did.
1 - Download third party texting app for play store.
2 - Assign new text app as default.
3 - Go to Settings -> Apps, find stock messaging app, and disable all notification settings.
4 - Modify new text app notifications to vibrate only.
I don't know if some of these steps are excessive/unnecessary, but I'm tired of tinkering around so much, so I'm settling here. I hope this can help someone that finds themselves in the same situation. Again, I do not claim this to be the best solution; just slightly less bad.

Notification sounds not working.

I have 2 apps installed, WhatsApp and Ring Doorbell that are not giving me sound notifications. For me the volume on this device is not very loud. I work in a noisy environment and need loud volume. My last phone (Note 5) I did that sound mod changing the volume xml file and used very loud notification sounds (mp3) and it was perfect. So I took those sound files from the Note and put them into the Mi 10 Ultra in Ringtones folder and set them. Since then I get no sound notifications.
I did some digging and found an app 'Hidden Settings for MIUI' and set it to 'play sounds', but that didn't fix the issue either. I'm completely new to MIUI and am all out of ideas. Its strange, but when I open the phone, the WhatsApp notification sound beeps to let me know I have a message, but I have to open the phone, if its sitting in my pocket I get no notification. Ring Doorbell is not working at all as far as notifications go. Nothing. If someone who knows MIUI could give me some help it would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: shouldn't have wasted my time
That's it for me. SIM out and back to my Note 5. Great phone but the software is atrocious, if I had of known the nightmare this would be I wouldn't have bought this phone. So now it goes back into its box where it will stay, 6 months 1 year I don't care, until there is an alternative to using this absolute mess that MIUI is. A real shame, but something as simple as a couple of apps really is the deal breaker for me. Maybe I'll sell it? Global ROM? Who knows ....but for now its a useless device that can't even run a couple of apps? That is as bad as it gets. Its privacy settings are the worst I have ever seen. Disguised as 'protecting you' but in reality its the other way around. If I wanted to be locked out and locked in and locked down I would have bought an Apple iPhone. Xiaomi makes good phones, but their MIUI software is the worst I have ever seen. I would not recommend anyone buy this device.
I actually was facing this problem and found out a fix. You just have to turn vibration on. For some reason some apps don't make a sound if it doesn't have vibration on for notifications.

I have Ring doorbell and Whatsapp working (sort of) as sometimes they are delayed.
I had to change settings/notifications/ring and set rules for notification as important and also make sure all notification settings are on
Then fo to settings/apps/manage apps/ring and make sure Autostart is on and set permissions to make sure the bottom 4 are set to green ticked. Then make sure restrict data usage set to WLAN and Mobile data and then set Battery Saver to No restrictions.
Hopefully it will work after that. Do similar things to other apps that may not be making notifications correctly.
PS I'm using China ROM
So I had this issue and figured out a sure way to get sound notifications working.
You just have to turn vibration on in the subtype of notification for said specific app. If you don't want vibration on all notifications for that specific app turn it off otherwise.
Here is the thing that helped me with the same notification issue! Just google "xiaomi mi 10 ultra notifications" and in the top 5 links you'll probably find an article from:
theunpopulartraveller. It explains the settings, and they need to be accessed by pressing and holding the app icon ^ app info.
Don't give up, try and you'll get the sounds from needed apps back. And ye, actually now I find the way Xiaomi did it much more convenient: I just turned on notifications for 2 apps, and all the rest are silent, while previously I had to turn off all the rest of the apps (much more than 2, definitely) not to get disturbed by all the bull****.
