Where to Buy ? - Mate 8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I'm from france and i want to buy the huawei Mate 8 64Gb 4go Gold champagne version.
I just wanted to ask what's the best site to order from ?
And wich version should i get ? International / other ?
Thanks for your answers

I bought mine from Spemall, just do a search on the web and you'll find it. It was shipped through DHL and got it within a week (I live in Canada). All devices sold through them I think come loaded with Chinese version, however It's easy to switch to International version if you follow carefully all the tutorials available in the forum. You can also wait for the international launch, I think, France is among the countries where it will be launched.
Good luck!

I get my stuff from www.gizok.com. They also ship DHL and I had my phone in three business days (New York). The Chinese version will get all the updates, the international versions usually don't. They currently have the 128gb version for $699.99 and the 64gb version for $649.99 both in Mocha Brown and Champagne Gold.

i am so interested to buy this device specially the 128 gb and puzzled in buying this device or huawei nexus P6 ( 128 GB too )
if i buy it ( Huawei mate 8 128 gb ) from the amazon site is there is any sticker in the body of the device ( as any Chinese communicating trade mark ) ?
it i to cost compared to other version 32,64gb ( about 850 $ with out the cost of charge do u advice me to buy it from other site )!!!
THNX

I purchased chinese version on 26.1. from Aliexpres for 734$ and now is the price 644$ for 128GB Mocha Gold. So I am little frustrated that I didn't wait longer.
And I found a one eshop (they have a 64GB Mocha Gold EU version in EU warehouse for immediate shippment for 614€ including shipping and VAT

Hello.
Anyone has any idea when will it be launched internationally (1st wave launch markets)?
I know it was launched in Spain on Feb 1st, but there's nothing in the news about all the other countries.

be aware that ull have to pay import tax if the seller doesnt offer DHL EU express which circumvents that. a lot of offers on aliexpress seem pretty cheap but once u add those 19% (for germany) taxes on top of pricing AND shipping they aint so cheap anymore on the other hand, if u check the more expensive shops offering that EU express shipping theyll actually be cheaper in the end since they already include the import taxes (or rather circumvent them)
aside from that: what did u expect? its ALWAYS been this way, u pay a premium for being among the first to have new tech. fast forward just a few weeks to a month and u already save big

thats ok, but such a big price difference only in 4 days? I think that it is not normal. It is normal for a longer period.
I am calculating that DHL will stop my parcel due to VAT. But seller promised me marked a lower price on the parcel so I hope that it will without VAT .....but it depends only on the luck

The best way: wait for an invite and purchase directly from OnePlus.

I go to london the 11 of august...
I have an oneplus one 16 gb,
I want to change for galaxy S5, nexus 5 or iPhone 5S.
If you like send me an private messge.
Thanks
To my knowledge all 16GB phones are China-edition and thus
a) missing international LTE bands
b) come with a chinese OS (ColorOS) instead of CM
Afaik all early contest winners who won the 16GB edition were upgraded to white 64GB editions.

Your knowledge is wrong.
1. The LTE works fine in Europe for the chinese version.
2. You can flash CM11S stock image.
3. There are 16GB international phones for sure.
I bought mine from lenteen.fr , paid via paypal, received 1 week later
But now they ship from EU (mine was shipped from china) and it should take around 48h
If your buying on Gumtree then make sure you pick it up as there are a lot of paypal scammers on there.
I'm selling one of mine on there at the moment and I have had a few people asking if I would post and take paypal even though I offered to deliver(I travel a lot with work) so you just know they would make a paypal claim as soon as they get the phone.
Likewise if your buying on there you get a lot of scammers looking to pull a fast one.
If you are buying a sealed in box phone then you can't check for the yellow screen until you pay for it.

That's a dangerous statement as neither chinese nor international OnePlus work as expected across all of Europe due to the missing LTE band 20.
Furthermore the chinese 1+ is missing LTE bands 4/17/38/40 which equals to 43% of all LTE bands missing. True it will work in most parts of Europe where the international one is working due to Europe's huge reliance on LTE bands 3/7/20.
Additionally the chinese version is missing 3G/HSPA band 4
Conclusion: my point still stands that the chinese version is NOT the same as the intl. connectivity-wise.

I specifically said "comes with", not that CM11S cannot be flashed anyway. Even if it is not very likely, they could break CM11S official updates based on IMEI, serial or other factors if you are not entitled to it. You would still have the "normal" CM11 though.

They changed production schedule way before mass-producing the device - only a few international devices were shipped with 16GB to journalists and maybe very early contest winners. Fact is that you could NEVER buy the 16GB intl edition.
Just bought mine off Gumtree from a local guy who had pre-ordered but bought an HTC M8 in the meantime.
£320 for a SandStone Black 64GB, brand new and unopened - absolute bargain
Hi there. Im from Barcelona, Spain, and I bought my Oneplus One from myefox.es. I bought the white 64GB one, with DHL shipping service (was here in 6 days) and it costed me 313€ total price (around 270 pounds, guessing) Yes, it is the chinese version, but it comes with CM11S installed, unlocked bootloader, stock recovery.
Works perfect, no problem with reception, calls, signal... not eiter in spain nor uk, as I travel to Glasgow quite often so, so far, so great!
I think it is a great deal, so you might want to go and check the website, I think they have one in english too, but this is the one that I bought it from.
Regards to all XDA community,
Paco.

Sorry, you're right. No invites for 16gb phones now..
As for CM, since they posted a ROM on their website, it's very unlikely they would ever start doing something you mentioned to the CN versions... Even if the 1% chance came to be, you can always get the latest OTA zip on xda
Gumtree probably best place like I said just meet them at there house or yours exchange details if you feel need. There some good deals ATM

Where to buy Mate 8 mocha brown chepeast and most reliable chinese based site ?

I live in Sweden I want to buy the Mate 8 Mocha Brown version with 4Gb Of ram memory.
We only got the 3GB variant in sweden plus only 2 colors (silver and gray)
I want the mocha brown version with 4GB, where to buy it from in china which you can trust ?
I know there is 3 versions of the mate 8
Does all of them support the same bands ?
as the one sold in sweden ?
I hope they are sellting them cheap some where...
in Sweden it is good to buy stuff from chinina it is the only country in the world where you will not get a 25% import tax when you import stuff.
Which I would get if I did order from usa for instance.
Gizmo. Com
Wondamobile.com is great. I got my précieuse from them.... Very GOOD customer service. Only bug: the tracking system is not very reliable....
some eBay seller are very serious. If you find your phone on eBay, search the seller'name on Google.
eglobalcentral is cheapest I've seen, ordered phone from them before no problems
aliexpress.com is also worth a look

Oppomart if they have it. Or honormi if they send it to Sweden. But what do you mean you don't need to pay import taxes? Ofc you do. It can depend on how the Chinese packs it because sometimes they write gift on the package.
thats news to me as well with sweden not billing import tax for goods from china...
in any case, some vendors on aliexpress use DHL EU Express, where the package is first sent to the UK, repackaged and then sent off to its destination in the EU. the shop ive ordered from did this and it took 8 days for me to receive the mate 8 without having to pay import taxes here in germany

Most of the big player's getting greedy now.
Honor 8 I felt should of been max £280 and £310/£320 max for the 64GB version... Mind you the Honor 6 Plus is still going for a high price £299 two years plus down the line since it's release.

Agreed. Too darn close to other higher spec phones.
They're opening space for other Chinese brands to offer better value.
Had an email from Honor UK today which stated that the Honor 8 Premium most likely will not be sold in the UK...

Mate 9 Pro-> Available at all? in U.S.?

The Porsche Design is incredibly expensive. But they have announced a Mate 9 Pro, and is on their web site here. But no information on versions, or places to purchase.
Google search not turning anything up either.
Seems like this time of year would be good time to get this stuff out there and available.

It's only a limited release so far.
It's available in China, Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark.
Your only way of getting it would probably be to import a Chinese version. I've yet to see a Nordic shop ship internationally even though it would probably be preferable (albeit more expensive) to get one from a Nordic country.
Other than that, you can only cross your fingers and hope it sees a wider release. I'm guessing they're testing to see the reception of a curved amoled display for future devices.
Thanks
Sweden and most of the others appears to be pre order from 20th.
i've found a couple of shops in sweden that will ship to other countries when they do have stock...
If you find out where the Pro is available for purchase online, please post.
Yeah, a lot of people like me have interest on this Model.
Sure. Likewise, of course.
Misco in sweden will post overseas but they only taking pre orders and are not guaranteeing it'll be instock by 20th. They said telcos will get them first so maybe try them....

Yup. It sure is. Although it is not available from a supplier in the U.S.
One of my concerns about purchasing a phone that would not be from a vendor in the U.S. is support. Even if the support is 'good', timing for handling would be an issue, I presume. Maybe my concern is not valid...I don't know.
The other thing for me is if I purchase a phone (especially one in that price range) I want to be able to evaluate it for at least a couple weeks and return it if it's not for me for whatever reason. The Oneplus 3 has a 14 day policy, and the Axon 7 has 30 days.
I talked to Huawei customer support today inquiring about the Mate 9 Pro because I have been wanting to get one but was told that they do not recommend buying it from 3rd party vendors or sellers and there is no warranty for the international version of the phone if you use it in the U.S.
Well, that ended my hopes of getting an expensive unlocked phone. Might as well wait for the upcoming phones...

Some re-sellers offer warranty support.
I wouldn't worry about it... I've never had to use warranty service for any of my smartphones. I've been searching but can't find any places selling this phone in silver/gray at a decent price... most are $1,000+. I already got burned when I bought my international Mate 9 (lost $200 when I sold it after the unexpected U.S. release).

Very valid. I bought a Mate 9 Pro in the USA via a seller on ebay. The sellers post just said huawei has 12 month warranty. Which is true. Just incomplete
After i received the device, i could figure out:
Huawei does not seem to have global warranty support == you need to send in the device for any form of repairs to the country where it is originally from.
My device seems to be from Taiwan, but that is just conjecture by me because the packaging has a URL from Taiwan on it. Alas, the Taiwanese Huawei site is one of the few that does not have online warranty check and when i sent an email to them from the webpage to inquire about my warranty status, i never got a reply. Maybe they can not or do not want to talk english. Or deal with overseas sold units customers.
Aka: i guess i am pretty much out of luck wrt. warranty unless i learn chinese and jump into a plane to taipeh. Which could be fun . But i guessed something like that to be the situation before i bought the phone, so no big surprise.
i got my mate 9 pro from ebay too. and it's also from taiwan. it's the gray one and it's only $878 + intl express shipping. i think it's the cheapest gray mate 9 pro coz some sellers from aliexpress sells it for even more than $1000 coz it's very rare. and they are selling the chinese version too. mine's international, i got it after 5 days here in new zealand via dhl. didn't have pay any import dutiesas well. the seller only sold 4 of these and i was one of the luckiest to grab the sale. here's the link:

That is a great price! Gray does seem to cost a lot more because it's unavailable mostly... there's a AL00 (China) model open box on eBay, but I'm afraid of dealing with annoyances from buying a Chinese model.
I've just ordered the gold via Amazon Prime for $889. At least that way I actually CAN easily return the phone and get my money back if I don't like it... or if Huawei does a release in the U.S. soon I won't get screwed.

You won't find those savings on sites selling to the West until it's been available for a while. Wait 4-6 weeks and you'll see significantly lower prices.
Unless my Google-fu sucks, there's no way of ordering from Vmall.com (CN) and having it either sent directly or forwarded to other countries.
You are right, the price could only be found on Chinese website. Everyone else I have seen added 200 USD on the Chinese MSRP. And they won't directly ship to overseas, U.S. at least. Same for Huawei shop on Tmall.com. I ordered one yesterday, successfully paid for the order, and then was asked to cancel the order or change the address to one in China.

Could try Tiptrans. I know some people who've had good results with them, though I've never used them myself.
If you want a Mate 20X early, getting one through them via Vmall might be the best option.
