1)I have rooted the Android phone. Xperia Tipo.
2)Installed the Root explorer, Permissions Denied, Droidwall, Startup Manager, Adfree, Busybox, Titanium Backup.
3)I was planning to use the Comodo Mobile Security (including antivirus and a live monitoring firewall)
Do I need to remove anything from the previously installed set of apps? Because even if I have droidwall, It only blocks applications as a whole. I cannot stop the apps from doing specific spying like- phonebook photo, access. etc.
The ****ty google has lot of apps that keep logged in. I tried to block one service from startup, and youtube stopped working.
I dont want to permanently block them. I only want these apps to login and access only when I need.
What should I do?

Dude I can understand what you want because I also hate such google apps running in background so do the following
Go to (settings<apps<all)and find the app you want "for example" take YouTube select it and click "Disable"
(before tat click force stop to save RAM) The app will be freezed and will not run until you again go and enable it...
PS:The disabled app will be in the dead bottom in (settings<apps<all) you can go there and "Enable" it again when you really need to use the app.

I'm not exactly sure of the end result. But maybe you could use a titanium backup widget to freeze/unfreeze Google play services. I did it to g maps and the toggle widget works perfect I just haven't tried play services because not sure if it will break something lol.

I am already using Link2SD ( BTW I met some other serious issues with it - no one here in XDA has bothered to reply to me ) and I froze the following apps that run in the background without asking me
-- google services framework
-- google play
-- airdroid
- some other google service ( not sure of name )
i will unfreeze only when I need to , rest times I am good. Miss out updates - but who cares - I dont - actualyl updates are a pain in b**t when they keep happening every other day
I wondered if there is some s/w out there that will change the ACL's of these files so that they cannot exe, automatically.

some google service - I will double check the name. Try it . How cares - unfreeze if it does not work . I froze the sim#2 service also because i dont use it Think Linux - what do you need to run it
I just tried something different, I used DroidWall to block network access to the following services:
Google Play Services
Google Services Framework
Google Account Manager
Network Location
Google Bookmarks Sync
Google Contacts Sync
They were all listed as one item so they had to be blocked all at the same time. I will report what happens.
It's possible, annoying part is having to defrost services to install/update an app. Once in hibernation with the correct apk you'll be fine with no orange bars.
Make sure to delete all /data/data gsf stuff

Any updates on if this helped or not? Did it cause any negative effects?
No negative effects, and tablet is FASTER! Only thing is I have to unblock Google Play Service to check for app updates, but I only do that twice a month anyway.

Not sure I understand your question. I've discovered it's safe to block network access to them all.

XPRIVACY is undoubtedly the best privacy app out there. Its because of the options it supports almost all the android versions.
But it is not as easy to understand as App Ops or Pdroid privacy guard. Thats why inspite of my many attempts to use it, i gave up after few hours or days and switched back to App Ops.
It has come along way from when i made those attempts, it has become more user friendly and interactive but so many options which is its biggest plus point, also makes it hard for new users to switch from other privacy app to XPRIVACY.
I recently made a small guide about HOW TO USE APP OPS MORE EFFECTIVELY.
So the next obvious step was GUIDE on XPRIVACY. i have been putting it off from many days but now no more will add more videos whenever i can but its about time i that i finally get started with it.
I hope this guide will help my fellow XDA members to make the required switch or to introduce them to the world of XPRIVACY

What this Guide is ABOUT???

1) Faking or restriction location
I am pretty sure this is going to be very useful to many people for playing location based games or to become mayor of certain place in foursquare and i am sure you can think of using it in many other apps.
Please note that you cannot fake location for some apps like google maps and facebook. these are the only two apps that i know of. you cannot fake location for these two apps but you can restrict it.
Also as you can see in the video you will be able to fake location in foursquare but when you will try to access google maps view from inside Foursqaure app you will get no location. But still you can check in and get suggestion from foursquare based on your fake location. default fake location is CHRISTMAS ISLAND. but you can change it through XPRIVACY(which is covered in the video).
2) Blocking access to the different accounts configured in your device
For this i have used Chrome beta as you can see in the video that blocking the account permissions will result in chrome not seeing the different google accounts that are present on my device. Thus i am unable to sign in chrome beta to sync my bookmarks and other stuff.
You can use this to block access from those app which try to gain access to the different accounts configured in your device.
Note: if you block access to 9gag, Ifunny etc apps like these for which you sign in using your configured google account. You wont be able to sign in those apps as these apps won't be able to see the configured account.
Although if a you sign in using username or email id which you use only for that particular app. You can block restrict this permission as it will have no negative effect on that app behaviour
3) Xprivacy Category - View Browser
For explaining what this permission does i have used DIGG app. This permission will restrict app from opening external links. or more precisely hyperlinks from withing app. If this permission is restricted you will be displayed warning from xprivacy when you try to open any link from withing the app(shown in the video).

You can block internet permission. That will block ads but that can also make app useless if it needs internet to function.
Why don't you use adaway or adblock pro to block ads?
I know this is a dumb question but I've been using Xprivacy for a few years now and I never could figure out what the two boxes to the right of the application names are for. I believe one is for restrict and one is for allow? If someone could let me know which each of those boxes means it would be much appreciated.
Good question. The two-column system is a later addition to xprivacy and many of the newbie tutorials don't cover it.
Let's take a simple example like location.
For starters, let's say the second column is unchecked. This is the easiest situation to understand. Then what happens depends on the first column.
The first column -- if it's checked then xprivacy will always deny access to location and will instead feed the app fake information as set up in the xprivacy settings.
If however the first column is unchecked then the app will be able to get to your actual location.
This is what you want with an app where the answer to "can it use this permission?" is always the same (either "always" or "never"). Second column unchecked, first column choice telling the app yes or no.
The second column controls the pop-ups that you see with xprivacy. If the second column is checked then you'll get a pop-up asking whether to allow the app the permission or not (whether or not the first column is checked).
There are four choices -- "allow", "deny", "don't know", and "oops I timed out".
"oops I timed out" will give the app whatever the answer in the first column is. You can tell what the first column is because the app says "Timeout will: allow/deny" depending on whether the first column is unchecked/checked.
If you click "allow" in the pop-up then xprivacy unchecks the second column in its settings, unchecks the first, and gives the app access to your true location. The popup will then not appear again unless you recheck the second column in the xprivacy settings.
If you click "deny" then xprivacy unchecks the second column, checks the first column and feeds the app fake location. Again you'll not see the popup again.
If you click "Don't know" then I *think* xprivacy denies access (whether or not the first column is unchecked) and leaves the second column checked, so it will ask again the next time.
How did I find this out? Well I didn't read it from a FAQ! I just downloaded xprivacy yesterday and I found it incredibly difficult to work out from scratch. In the end I just downloaded an app which prints out your gps location and nothing else, and I just experimented with it. The above is a report on my conclusions. I hope it helps other people because it is the post which I wish I could have read this time yesterday.
Note that other permissions might work slightly differently. For example it is not really possible to feed an app fake internet information, as this would require carrying around a fake internet on your phone. You can get a quick idea about what data can be faked by looking at the xprivacy settings. For example, you can fake your phone number and your MAC address. But as I've said you can't fake your internet and you can't fake your storage either -- which is quite a good idea because if you pretend to let an app write to your SD card and then pretend to let it read it and it can't find what it just wrote, this is bound to lead to trouble, probably more trouble than if you'd just denied it access in the first place.

I got also another question (if someone knonw the answer) about the "shared rules". I mean, if I download the rules for some app, from the XPrivacy server, it's supposed to be the settings that someone has configure, ok. But what if I send my rules and, later in time, I download it again for that app? I got my rules (the rules that I uploaded before) or I got the " common" rules setted shared by the XPrivacy?

Is it possible for xPrivacy to allow app's permission? I'm using a phone that runs android 5.1.1 and some apps just don't ask for permissions which makes it impossible for me to access storages. It will only respond that app has no permission to write over storages which makes the app not functional.

My phone doesn't seem so. Here's how it looks like in the app settings.

as you know, even if we disable "android device manager" from settings->security->device administrators, it still can be enabled from https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager "enable lock & erase"
from one side it is good, but from other side it is bad - i don't want that my phone can be remotely erased by google
this functionality definitely resides in gmscore.apk
of course, we can just kill all google services, but we loose too much.
so : probably someone from devs here already know answer what to patch in gmscore to disable this behavior ?
with latest gmscore update ( 6.1.74 (1511752-038) ) the only message i can see, when pushing "enable lock and erase" :

I can't seem to find that service, heck I can't even find gmscore.apk
When I use find / -name gmscore.apk in terminal nothing came up.
Running 4.4.2 on galaxy S5, google framework 4.4.2-940549
Any ideas?
I would really not want my device wiped If my google account was compromised (really only have it for android)
as i remember, this service because build into gmscore from 4.4.4 and enabling downloading some external application.

This a serious security flaw, let me explain why.... I have a company account on my phone, just for the purpose of receiving gmail, and that's very important to me. This also means this account can access my phone through android device manager. So, anyone that can log in to firm's gmail can lock and erase my phone and there's no way to disable it. Best I could do was turn off location reporting and hide my phone from showing in device list. However, anyone that can log in to this account, can also change this in settings and unhide it, enable lock and erase, make it ring and.... well, lock and erase it.
This is very worrying when you have a lot of people with access to gmail account that you also have on your phone. ATM only solution I see is to remove account on my phone and search for other email app.
Anyone knows how one could deal with this and still use gmail app?

Instead of a problem with ADM, this sounds like a massive security issue on your company's side. I don't know why your company need to share the same email account, but the more people who have access, the more likely someone will spill the beans. If I am you, getting my phone wiped will the least of my worries.

This dosent appear to be working, as after I disable all the above services, clicked on "enable lock and erase" from my google account it reactivated said services. So which service is activating and overriding the services I disabled?
Im running Android 4.4.2(goldeneye rom, Googymax kernal) on a Samsung i9505, I use Xprivacy, Android firewall, and Appmaster(app uninstaller & autostart manager)
Trying to secure an oem samsung Rom from google and its services while still using all the factory apps is going to be like herding cats...
It's similar to going to the pool and expecting to swim but not getting wet.
If you use Google apps and use the accounts feature of Android then you are going to have Google play services and other Google services running, and sadly you can stop them all you want they update and restart themselves regularly.
You just can't get away from Google, if you still use Google play, the Google mail app, Google voice search, Google account verifier, Google download manager, Google hangouts, Google plus or the host of other Google services and apps that a baked into your rom.
All you will do in find yourself with a lot of force closes from apps, and less hair more cats.
What @Cyclu said was the right way. there are several services and receivers that have "mdm" , probably what you could do is use the search function in the app while viewing the services for GooglePlayServices. at the top of the screen, click menu, toggle full, (full/short option) then tap the magnifying glass, then the search box and type "mdm" , then do the same thing under the receivers section
This is so annoying. Can you imagine disabling admin on the phone, knowing that after reading the description in that area of the settings that it cannot be used to wipe the phone? Then someone testing it to prove it and they click "Enable" and wipe the phone? Know how dangerous that is? My phone is an S5 mini, stock firmware and rooted with SuperSU. What can I do to just prevent admin mode being enabled? I want to be able to track my phone's location but I do NOT want my phone able to be remotely wiped by anyone including myself, remotely.
I tried all. Looks like there is no way to disable ADM. Even if u disable corresponding service for ADM still when u restart that service gets re-enables it self again. Had any got a solution to disable this crappy android device manager fully?? thx in advance.
Forgive me, but this thread is just pathetic. If you have Gapps, your device is not yours. It is Google's. Period. If you can't live without hangouts and similar garbage, then enjoy them, but stop *****ing about remote wipe. You can't be half-pregnant. By the way, remote wipe is not the worse thing that could happen to you. Anything could be silently installed on "your" phone, even if you somehow disable ADM. It could be done through Google play and google services framework. Not to mention thar google analytics record everything about your activities and gsf regularly reports the same "home" i.e Google.
To gmail at work guy: if you can't use another client to access your work gmail, get a separate feature phone.

Android, unlike Gapps, is open source. So, you can get under the hood and clean lots of things.
According to facebook report over my mail, someone has entered in to my fb via Xperia XA, Saratoga, CALIFORNIA, US. I am at Europe.
Most likely i was blocked because my phone Ip have changed somehow.Now i cant enter in to my account with msnger and facebook (only from browser) app on my phone. Think the security system is blocking my phone.
Ps: i had to swap Wifi with 4g in order to get access.

Think not, just standart office Wifi connection. And i just check , my office location (according to my laptop is Europe), but according to my phone 4g i am at California ,Saratoga. So whats going on ?
Its something from the phone system, i changed the firmware few days ago, and the phone is encrypted now, so maybe its forcing the apps to connect via VPN network, or who knows...

Have you some apps from unofficial markets like Aptoide? Have you some apps downloaded from file-sharing links or P2P? If yes, don't search away, you probably have a malicious app.
If you are rooted, use a permission manager app, Xprivacy is good for that and allow blocking strange permissions (Facebook, Google accounts, contacts, device ident, ... for an app who don't need them).

1) Try to re-download apps from trusted sources.
2) Try AVG app integrated in the device to scan it.
3) Use Xprivacy and block unnecessary permissions on suspicious apps, make some test (block/unblock) to understand what mean each permissions. For sample, a game generally don't need root, phone contacts or SMS and needs sensors, storage and Internet.

nICE,will try that ,got some apps which are not suitable for my device. Think they might be suspicious.
So Xprivacy installs xFrame too ?

Not suitable ?? Big targets to be suspicious are warez/cracked apps.

One reason I'll never use apps like that in the first place. Just asking for trouble.

yea few which i was trying to connect a DSLR and use the phone for shutter remote.
It looks like i have already removed the antivirus app.
