TouchFlo3D Music Player, how to play by genre/artist/etc?

I can't seem to get used to the TouchFlo3D music player. It found all my music and I can browse it in the library. I can play single mp3s from an album and somehow managed to create a playlist with all my music.
But isn't it somehow possible to play an entire album? Or all songs from an artist or genre? When I go to the library, choose the 'artists' tab, select an artist and press 'Play' at the bottom right it just returns to the media player without playing anything (the songs already there just remain there).
Am I missing something? Windows media player does it just fine but the touch music player confuses me bigtime.

To play an album: "Library" -> click on the CD case picture (it will show all albums) -> scroll to the album you want to listen to -> tap on it -> tap on the first song (it will start paying the first song and will then continue with the rest of the album)

Argh, and if I go to the genre -> all songs and play the first one there it also queues the entire genre...

How to Shuffle songs in zune WP7?

Hi ,
I created a play list in zune. i dont know how to shuffle..it keeps playing albums 1 by 1 anyone knows how to shuffle ?

but i want to shuffle songs only in my playlist not all songs in my zune

i got it now..i have to press almost at the bottom of the album art to get the option..thanx guys..

Whoa.
And here I thought WM7 would be user friendly. I still can't do this. I've got a playlist, some albums... Is it that hard to include a shuffle button at the bottom?
When I long-press on the album art I either get a grey "share" option or the following options: "add to play now", "delete", "pin to start".
I'm honestly not taken in by this player. How do you shuffle songs?
EDIT: The only reference to shuffling that I saw was the on the "all songs" list. But I want to shuffle an album, not the whole songs library.

I had a Zune HD for a year and the controls were spot on (music & video), I don't know why they were not ported straight to WP7 but hopefully that will be updated soon.

Are you suggesting the feature is not there, or that using it is shown in the YouTube video? (I can't watch YT videos at this very moment...)
EDIT: After more Googling, I found the answer to my question. To get to those features one has to tap the album art.
I always associated "pressing" on phones with a "long press", which in this case brings up the Zune context menu for that given object, but doesn't contain the shuffle option.

ok, step-by-step
- Open Music & Videos
- Select Music
- Select your artist (Click the artist name, rather than the Play button next to them)
- Select your album (if you want to play all the album, you can just click the album art at this stage, which will immediately start playing the album)
- Select the album Art (not long press, just a tap will do)
This will make the album art gray out and 3 button will appear over the top of it, the first being Repeat, the middle is like/dislike/no opinion, the 3rd is the Holy Shuffle Button
I've never owned or used a Zune device before so can't comment on whether it's better/worse/different/the same. But it's easy enough for me.
Note: When you're in the WP7 Library, the "Play" button you'll see next to the artists name in Artist View (for eg.) immediately plays all that artists songs you have. Just an FYI as the Play button pops up in a few places and has different effects than Selecting the artist by tapping their name for example.

The feature is there but if I remember correctly on the Zune HD it appears on the screen without the need for a long press.
The video just highlights differences between Zune on the Zune HD and on WP7, for instance on the ZHD you can fast forward a video by sliding on the playing bar.

In the "Songs" menu, once I've found the song I want to hear first, there's no way to then shuffle the rest of the songs. After the selected song is finished, it goes on to the next song in the list. A bad omission.

whilst the song is playing, where the album art is, click on it... three icons will appear over the album art... shuffle, repeat, favorite (i think).

I have a brand new Nokia WP7 and was having a little trouble finding this option, but it does exist. Yes, you can shuffle play your playlists!
Go to your playlist, pick a song out of the playlist. When the graphic of the song comes up, there are three icons on the RIGHT. The icon in the middle that looks kind of like a set of headphones/crab is the shuffle icon. I thought it was some kind of share icon, so initially ignored it. Just turn it on and you are good to go.
Aside from the little hiccup, I am loving my WP7.

Can someone help. I don't get how to make a playlist in Zune.
And what is the purpose of "make a selection" ? it does not work.

The way that I've been doing it is this. I play a Song that I want. Once its playing, I go through zune and press hold the song's or artists and select add to current playlist. Once I have the playlist set, I press on the now playing from music history screen. From there you can press more options and then select save playlist.
This is how I create playlists. Still haven't figured out how to edit playlists though

It does not work. As soon as I want to save a song in my Selection, I am asked to give a name to my Selection ???!
Then if I check this playlist I wil have 562 tracks that are not mine and that I did not selected. What the hell !!!
And it sems that there is no Shuffle function. How to play he playlist tracks randomly?
How is it so complicated?

Zune does not even find my photos and music on pc.Just bought a titan. My hd2

So, on my LG Quantum, I was trying to create a new playlist from my existing mp3 files. When I do this, it creates a playlist with everysong.
So what's the point of creating a playlist if it has everysong?
Also, I am not seeing anyway to adjust the order of a playlist.
When I shuffle, it switches from playing a playlist, to playing all music.
Maybe it's as simple as clearing the music that is considered now playing. But, I am not seeing where that is displayed.
Starting up Music, the first screen says
Zune, with items (music, videos, podcasts, radio, marketplace)
The next screen says Histroy with tiles of songs and playlists.
The only menu options are play music and search marketplace.
The next screen says new with tiles of songs and playlists.
Again, the only menu options are play music and search marketplace.
The next screen says apps.
It lists MSN Money Stocks, and YouTube and YouTube again.
The only menu is search marketplace.
The next option takes me back to zune.
Since I want to create a playlist, I select music.
I can play an album and create a playlist from it.
If I play a song and create a playlist, it puts every song on my device in the playlist.
If like an album, but don't necessarily want all the songs of it in a particular playlists, I see no way to remove a song from a playlist, or create a playlist without the one song.
Anyone know how to create a playlist. Then add just the songs that you want to the list. Then shuffle the playlist. Then later remove and add songs to the playlist.
If there is an app that accomplishes this, I am fine purchasing it. I am just a little shocked that this is not built in or easier to figure out.

And reading all requests for playlist, the feature just is not implemented well.
There is not a good way to create new playlists.
Only thing I can think will sort of work is to create a playlist on your computer with 1 song that you like or just a 1 second or shorter song of just silience.
Sync that your device. Now you can play the playlist. Then add songs to the now playing. then create a new playlist from that.
It's a lame work around and it won't get around the fact that you can't remove a song from a playlist.

New Google Music Issue

I've read everywhere about how cool the new Google music update is but I have what I think is a major problem.
I press shuffle and nothing happens. The songs play in regular order of the queue and don't even reshuffle.
Is it just me? Is there some new secret way to do it?

When you hit the shuffle button, it seems to get all the songs in the current playlist/album/artist/etc and shuffle them up in the queue (finally they implemented a queue system, i was waiting for this). If you untick shuffle after it has created the shuffled queue, it will play in order of the shuffled queue as it would've done anyway - enabling it again will reshuffle all the items in the queue. You can clear it so it plays normally by clearing the queue and playing a song you want to start listening to, and it'll act the same as it did before, but it'll all be in the queue rather than just the next song. They probably should have unshuffled the songs once you untick it though, it does seem a little confusing.

my google play music just shuffle it correctly
or maybe you cant try shuffling it after you choose song in "song"tab not artist or album..i always do that when i want to listen all of my music:laugh:

I have another problem. It doesn't play my music. It says "Music playback error". Everything is stock.

time to download another music player? i recommend winamp

Maybe he/she streams their music? Have you tried clearing data or maybe reinstalling the app?

Yeah, only reason I stick to GMusic is the cloud...UI is pretty slick too.
About the shuffle button, seems waaaaay too complicated. Why can it just shuffle my current queue? Now whenever I go to app, I have to turn off shuffle, clear my queue, start a new queue/playlist and then press shuffle again for it to work. If I happen to play another album for instance, shuffle button in new queue pretty much dies till I clear it.
It's horrid.

Mine is giving me the playback error as well, but only when I'm on data and not wifi. Which is weird because I have it set to only stream via wifi. And it only does this when using another music application(ie Pandora, TuneIn)
