How many AT&T Built-in softwares in G Flex 2? - LG G Flex 2

Just curious if I need to root for this reason.
Will they slow down the system dramatically?

[Q] What tethering options does a Droid Mini on 4.4.4 have? Does PDANet work?

I have Unlimited Verizon data, and haven't bought a new phone yet, but I would like something faster than my Droid Razr M. The Droid Mini looks perfect, and is around $160 lightly used. My only reservation is that it might be on 4.4.4 so I would lose the ability to root or tether. Is there currently any way? Thanks.

Check the main ultra board, there is some info about obtaining root & wp off for 4.4.4.
I believe USB tethering still works on 4.4.4 w/o root

Pda net works. If its already on 4.4.4 you cant root unless unlocked BL.

[Completed] Moto E 2015 gps

Hi All,
I want to use a mobile as offline gps navigator (using apps like sygic or MapFactor without internet/data connection). My questions are:
1. How is Moto E's offline GPS capability? Does it catch gps easily?
2. Should I go for Moto G as I have seen lot of people have fantastic gps catch with Moto G even inside their house?
3. Moto E's processor is Snapdragon 410 which should be better then Moto G's Snapdragon 400, isn't it?
4. Is Beidou working on Moto E?
Please reply
Thanks

[Q] (Non-Root/Rom/Developer Question) General Questions on the Moto G

Okay, I've bought me a mint condition Motorola Moto G. The first generation. I have a few questions that need to be answered, as I have not recieved the phone quite yet, and I'm a bit impatient.
1.) What internet speed does it have?
I ask this because I've been getting mixed answers all day, and I cannot find one.
"HSDPA+ (4G) 21.1 Mbit/s, HSUPA 5.76 Mbit/s, UMTS, EDGE, GPRS, EV-DO Rev.A"
But when I watch videos it says it's only capable of 3G connectivity. Can you imagine my confusion?
2.) Is it difficult to mod?
Now, I'm no granny. I can figure out how stuff works, what super user is and such. But is there like a one touch root? My previous phone was a LG Tribute. It was quite easy to root and get TWRP on it. All I did was install Flashify and pop the .img on it.
3.) Do you have 720p on YouTube videos?
Personally, I've never owned an HD phone so to say. I also own a Kyocera Hydro Icon. So from my previous phones, none of them had a dedicated forum to it.
4.) Do you have a MicroSD card slot?
Again, videos say you don't, PhoneArena says you do. ( ._.)
That's it. I hope they aren't too difficult to answer.
Forget question 4. I overlooked. That's one drawback I don't like. Hopefully there is some modifications that can extend the storage, even if it's a little.
There isn't A motoG but SOME motoG
It depends on the specific model you have chosen :
2013 first gen, named falcon :
XT1032 XT1034: 8/16G noSD, no4G
XT1033: same but dual sim
XT1028 XT1031: CDMA
there is also the 4G variant (named peregrine) of that first gen:
XT1039 XT1040 XT1045 : SDcard + 4G
And then there are the 2014 MotoG and its 4G variant but these are not I' this forum.
It is not difficult to "mod" as long as you do things the way tutos here say: read 4 times, simulate the action, ask if anything is not obvious for you, then try for real.
And yes about 720p
BTW, the variants are described in the FAQs if you had took time to read them, maybe they're not clear enough for new comers, I may rework them a little.

I'm with the carrier Boost Mobile, and after reading your FAQ, I believe that would be the XT1031.

[Q] Lollipop on AT&T G2 - same issues as other variants?

On Verizon, the Lollipop update brought slow usb charging and faster battery drain. This seems like it would be easy to find, but I can't seem to find if the other variants (specifically the AT&T one) have the same issues - maybe I'm just searching wrong. My wife and I picked up a couple of AT&T G2's unlocked to use on Cricket now that we've left Verizon. They're great, but if lollipop on them doesn't have the same issues as Verizon, I'll gladly force the update (which is evidently the only way we can do it).
TIA!

My daughter's AT&T LG G2 has the same battery drain issue + lagging apps startup and not able to sync calendar, contacts, etc. She tried factory reset, no luck. She is now very frustrated. All these problem appeared after OTA update to Lollipop 5.0.1.
My LG G2 ATT has no problems at all, everything is perfect, much better battery, not a single lag, much much smoother etc. you should upgrade.

Aug, 2020,,,,,
yep your on 20f just like me.
you can do the root method described in the root thread but it will (not) work because even though you can switch to a different "slot" you would only be switching to 20e.
i think if you are on anything (below) "20f" you can switch to the other slot which would be lower then 20e then you could do the root method as described.
if you are on 20f (like me) then we can (not) do it. i dont think.
i come here looking almost every day for a new root method for 20f but i dont ever hear anything.
please someone dont leave these awesome phones out of root.
i just got a verizon galaxy s9+ and did a side by side benchmark with 3dmark on both phones and the lg v50 i have (sprint) scored 2049 points and the s9+ scrored like 1450.
this is incredible because the the lg v50 is older then the s9+
so basically the lg v50 probably is equivalent to an s10?
idk but we have two of the lg v50's both on 20f and really wanting root for volte for sure as we have tmobile and it switches from lte to 3g everytime we make or receive a voice call.

The v50 is newer than the s9 ? also, I wouldn't use those benchmarks as they're pretty biased, and certain phone brands suspiciously perform worse with the same processor as other brands. Of course there can be throttling differences and stuff like that, but the scores created by those benchmarks just don't show much.
Lg v50 is snapdragon 855 and galaxy s9+ is snapdragon 845 so yea it isnt the same but that means the s10 is snapdragon 855? Which makes this phone even more important than i thought.
Please devs dont forget these phones. There are great phones.

I am using Sprint so I am fine coz VOLTE works. But sometimes I don't like to phone to be so hot and I wanna do underclock cpu. But cannot do it as no root is available.
I didnt know sprint was even around anymore....
Our phones are awesome except when making or receiving calls when it switches to 3g because no volte.
By the way in january 2021 sprint and tmobile is dropping 3g.
Dont know what we gonna do then.
Devs help
