Gear S2 model region and Gear S2 App Store region - Samsung Gear S2

Hi,
does someone know if each region has its own Gear S2 versions? (USA, Europe, ...)
Would this also determine the region of the Gear S2 App Store?
Is it possible to determine what region my Gear S2 is from or currently in or even to change that?
Best regards,
C3m3nt

Yes. Yes. No. Post the model number from "About Gear" and we can tell you what region it's from.

He meant serial number of GS2

There exist a lot of regions (for only a watch)
Hi,
unfortunately, besides the serial number it doesn't give any clue in its menus.
Thinking about how it would be possible to find out the region, using only the serial number of the Gears S2, I looked through the Samsung website and found their "product registration" site.
Each serial number of the SM-R720 seems to start with "R3AG". Or does someone have something else?
There by registering a product, entering the serial number, they would automatically associate the correct device with its region.
For the USA it is the model SM-R7200ZKAXAR (dark grey) and SM-R7200ZWAXAR (silver).
Doing further research, browsing through Samsung Europe and their registration site, I found out that they have at least 13 different regions for the Gear S2 dark grey.
Seems very complicated and annoying...for a watch...making it fun for every region to get its own update...
The last way to find out which region the watch is associated to, seems to be when looking at the back of the box the watch came in, on the sticker under "Model: ...".
The model numbers seem similar to the CSC codes but some are different.
Here is the list of the SM-R720 dark grey (ZK) and silver (ZW) for Europe (I don't know if it is complete):
SM-R7200ZKADBT Gear S2 Germany
SM-R7200ZWADBT Gear S2 Germany
SM-R7200ZKAXEF Gear S2 France
SM-R7200ZWAXEF Gear S2 France
SM-R7200ZKAXEO SM-R720 Poland
SM-R7200ZWAXEO SM-R720 Poland
SM-R7200ZKASER SM-R720 Kazakhstan
SM-R7200ZWASER SM-R720 Kazakhstan
SM-R7200ZWABTU Gear S2 United Kingdom
SM-R7200ZKAATO Gear S2 Austria
SM-R7200ZWAATO Gear S2 Austria
SM-R7200ZWAAUT Gear S2 Switzerland
SM-R7200ZKAAUT Gear S2 Switzerland
SM-R7200ZKABTU SM-R720 Ireland
SM-R7200ZWABTU SM-R720 Ireland
SM-R7200ZKASKZ Gear S2 Kazakhstan
SM-R7200ZWASKZ Gear S2 Kazakhstan
SM-R7200ZKACAC SM-R720 Kazakhstan

SM-R7200ZKAITV Gear S2 Italy

I have a US version, and that is the model number I have for a Classic S2.
It is the version that has Bluetooth and WiFi, but not 3G.
Rob
I have the SM-R732 too and I am in the UK. As I bought it from UK Ebay I don't know if it's a UK model or not so will be interested in any more answers on here.
Hi,
Thanks for help. I have some information about product code. As i can see all gear S2 Classic have a prefixe code 'SM-R732' and some others letters. Some codes:
SM-R7320ZKAITV for Italian
SM-R7320ZKAXEF for french
SM-R7320ZWABTU for UK
I'm a bit confused about the list above as you said that they were all SM-R732 then that the UK version is SM-R720?
---------- Post added at 11:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:30 PM ----------
Have just checked and SM-R7200ZWABTU is the S2 and not the Classic.
Sorry, there is a mistake:
SM-R720 for the gear s2 sport
SM-R732 for the gear s2 classic

Samsung Gear SM-RF760 and Samsung Gear Pay - Issues

So, due to no Gear S3 being available in Australia for some time, I ordered the SM-RF760 Model from www.eglobaldigital.com.au
I have the s7 Edge Aussie Variant. Just found out that Samsung Pay is no available on the SM-RF760 and been advised by Samsung that it will only become available and has to be activated in the country i bought the watch from!!! Can you believe it? Maybe one day I can side load a version, of if someone can help, please please do
Michael
Sorry but you can't side load it. The only way to get it on the watch is to load the csc file from Australia. I am in the same boat in Canada. Have it in Gear Manager but it won't go on the watch until Canada updates the CSC file.
Swordfish
Thanks Swordfish

I only have it in Gear Manager because I use a US phone with US firmware in Canada. Should have bought the watch in US too!

Mine in Canada is OXA, can someone from US tell me what version you have? I believe this is what prevents us from installing SP on our watches.

I ask now on another forum and wait answer.
Man buy R760 from USA, now version APK7.
Pnone not Samsung. Adding russian card without problem.
SP working via NFC and MST.
Sorry for my bad english.
APK7 is the firmware version but I need to know what CSC version the Americans have. Using the procedure above, you can check and see what version you have. It won't hurt your watch to just check the version number.
Swordfish
My guess is my model number is the American version SM-R760
CSC: R760OXA1APK6 SM-R760
We have PK7 as the firmware but my thinking must be incorrect. It seems we all have OXA as the CSC value so now I'm puzzled as to how the watch knows not to install SP on my watch??
Swordfish
THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING AND SAMSUNG ARE HOPELESS, THEY TOLD ME I HAVE TO WAIT FOR IT TO BECOME AVAILABLE IN THE COUNTRY I PURCHASED, HONG KONG?? Is SM-R760 the USA version then?

I think, need another activation SP.
May be enabling in special menu, before buy.
May be first pairing and activation in country non USA.
May be first pairing and activation with non USA Samsung phone firmware.
I dont know....
gah samsung pay not available on my HK version of the watch. Gah is there any update on this (flashing firmware etc) to get samsung pay to work in my home country (australia)?
This is frustrating
It's the watch, nothing you do on your phone will bypass it. I'm in Canada, didn't even have the SP option in my gear app and then I sold my Canadian one and got a USA one and it installed itself on my Canadian S7 Edge (unrooted/unmodded). SP works even though we don't officially have SP in Canada (only pre-release for one bank)

Change country of origin for Gear S3

Another bad surprise from Samsung.
My Gear S3 Classic doesn't support Samsung Pay in Sweden as it was purchased outside of EU.
Can anyone help to change the country of origin in my watch? Please.
Bump this. I also need this if it work on Tizen.

USA sm-r720 in Canada?

If I buy a US version Gear S2 sm-r720 (or 30 or 35), will I be able to use it easily without flashing or modding to use it in Canada with Samsung Pay since it will already be written to have CSC XAR?
Maybe @adpost knows?
Thanks XDA!

S3 Frontier (SM-R765v) new user. Few questions...

Hello everyone, hope you are all well during this pandemic.
New to this part of xda as i just got a s3 frontier in the mail today. Good price from China
Only thing is, i am in the UK and it is a r765v model. After a little bit of digging around here i believe this is a US Verizon model. Tried changing the CSC and only have VZW as an option.
Is there any way to "debrand" this so to speak with any stock firmware/combination firmware via netodin to have more available CSC's? Ideally i'd like to change it to XAR or BTU or am i stuck with this "verizon" model?
Current software on it is R765VVRU1CSD6
Appreciate the help
CSD6 Firmware for study...

Yes, US Verizon Model...
IMHO no XAR nor BTU for these LTE devices...
I can not remember LTE Gear S3 for UK...
Code:
Korea
USA
New Zealand
Singapore
No idea about your skills...
But with Gear S3 LTE you are far away from easy change to other country... including eSIM..
Best Regards
Appreciate the fast reply!
I will have a play ? i was not too fussed really about changing the csc just wanted the latest tizen update ?
Regards
Matt
