Hi,
I Googled the following question and watched a YouTube vidoe where it suggested using an access code of either 0000 or 1234 which I did but it would not allow me to "pair" /access the area where the manual suggests you can change the Bluetoothing timing out to never time out.
The process I've followed is to to tap the Settings icon which brings up the next screen and then tapping the Bluetooth icon (switched on) where there is a green check mark next to the tablet model and says ready for Bluetooth.
Underneath that is PC-Admin which when you tap that you get a screen prompting you for the 4 digit access code. An access code was never set on this tablet so I tried the 0000 and then tried the 1234, to no avail.
Is there a place/way to change the access code so I can enter this area to extend the Bluetoothing to "Never Time Out"?
If one can not change the access code, then how else can I change the Bluetoothing to Never Time Out?
Thank you.

I'm looking for some software that will lock my 8525 on demand, hopefully through a today screen plugin. The app MUST require a password for unlocking. I have found some apps like Start Nice and Omega 1-Pass, but they are both explicitly incompatible with WM5. An app that merely triggers the built-in password protection would suffice.
Thanks in advance!
the default password function shld help. go to Settings - Lock. select "Prompt for device unused for" and then select 0 minute from the drop down, click ok to save. whenever u power off ur device and power it back on, the password screen shld prompt.
I do not want to have to enter a password every time I take the device off standby. I want to have a 1 hour usage timeout and a lock-on-demand button on the today screen as well.
I use mortscript, I wrote a script that I linked to an icon on my today tray launch.
You could do the same on your WM5 device. Some of the clever folk on here could help you with a script for your device.
Password lock on demand
Does someone know how to creake a desktop icon that will activate the password lock? The default password lock function allows activation after a specified period of time but it would be better if the password protect is active only when the phone has to be left alone, not while it is on person.
Found an old thread....but no solution
There was some debate on the topic in the past but no satisfactory solution was found!

For security reasons, I have a 10 digit code set for my HD2. However, the default behavior of the hang up/on/off button not only blanks the screen, but also activates the lock as well, which means that I have to enter a 10 digit code every time.
What I want, is to change the behavior of the button, so that it only blanks the screen, and to use another program, such as ThrottleLock to secure the screen instead of the lock password. I've set the phone to lock in 30 minutes, so that if I don't activate the phone in 30 minutes, then I'll have to enter the 10 digit code.
Any help would be appreciated.
Nevermind. Found the cab I needed here.
While roaming through my phones settings I discovered the following setting and cant seem to find out exactly what each number refers to.
Settings\System\Notification Drawer\Widget Buttons\Screentimeout Modes
It shows the following:
15s/1m/5m
30s/2m/5m
These appear to be screen time out settings but does anyone know what each number is referencing?

I think its obvious
15 seconds / 1 minute / 5 minutes
30 seconds/ 2 minutes / 5 minutes
It'll work this way.
If u select the first option and then touch the screentimeout button thrice, it will toggle between 15s / 1m and 5 m
The second option will toggle between 30s, 2 m and 5 m
What is the difference between the ScreenTimeOut setting vs.Display\Sleep?
And I am not sure where I would find the ScreenTimeOut button.
I don't know.the difference exactly. I think it's the same
Pull down ur status bar. Do u see buttons at the top? one of them is the screen timeout button
OK, that's why I could not see it it was not ticked in the settings to show on the bar. Weird and possibly redundant feature though.
It's not weird...screen timeout means when your phone will switch off the screen...sleep means your phone will switch off the screen+go into standby mode...sleep mode saves battery but take longer time to reload your previous activity...
OK, I (without reading of course) thought the Display setting turned the screen off not hibernated the phone.
I have posted this in another thread recently but are you aware of any tweak or setting that will prevent the screen from blanking when using the dialer? It will not blank if I call voicemail (I guess it knows more keys will be entered) however, other calls immediately blank even though I have more keys to press. I have tried for some time to locate a setting or fix to no avail.
I`ve just bought Nec Terrain and got a problem: i need to use virtual keyboard together with physical one. I`ve tried to install Google keyboard and a lot of others, but after installing & setting them up by default they don`t pop up in the text fields & i can`t get an input method window pop-up. Tapping & holding on a text field gives nothing. Maybe somehow usage of a virtual keyboard is blocked in this phone? So how turn virtual keyboard on?
It turned out that virtual keyboard is being blocked by physical one while it is not turned off in settings, but i can`t turn physical off, because the tip is grayscaled and locked. How to unlock it?
Try disabling Adaptxt.
I have not tried to use a virtual keyoard, but when I killed Adaptxt my keyboard mostly stopped working.
I don't know if this will work, but it is easy enough to turn back on.
Eureka! I have found it! After going through a dozen or more keyboards, I have found one that brings back all the keyboard functions without the predictive text bar.
Download the TouchPal keyboard and set it as default.

did this ever get resolved?

Did you solve this VigerV? I'm having the exact same problem and may have to return the phone if I can't figure out how to type in other languages. I can't enable any type of virtual keyboard. It's crazy that they make it this hard!
Hi!
My Nexus 5 is running CM11 and the only lock screen security settings that work are "None" or "Slide". When I select "Pattern", "PIN" or "Password", I can set these, but after confirming them, the entry under "Screen lock" stays on "None" or "Slide", whichever was selected before. And when I lock the screen, I can unlock it by sliding or simply by pushing the power button.
The strange thing is that when I want to change the security settings again, the phone prompts me to enter the selected pattern/PIN/password, so it is stored somewhere. If I enter that correctly, I can change the settings again, but the results are the same.
I am running the latest nightly build, but the problem has occured for at least three months on every build I tried to change the setting. I've never used a different kernel or messed with the system by using xposed or something like that. Has anybody got an idea, where I could find the solution?
