Viper4Android returns sound great but complex to set up "on the go" (ie quickly change a parameter)
The app and its MaxxAudio sound drivers available from CM12S on features excellent high and low, to the detriment Surround effect that can often drastically worsens the quality of the song you are listening. In addition the low that returns are not dynamic, and what feels distinctly in some parts.
So let's seehow to use simultaneously the two drivers:
WARNING:
1. This is for ROOTED users with Custom Recovery installed.
2. Your stock audiofx libs will be replaced. So make a nandroid backup of your current ROM.
3. Keep your volume low as 30% before you use this mod.
Requirements:
Root
Recovery (TWRP)
Busybox: Yes
SeLinux: Premissive
ViPER4MM :
Androidfilehost: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24369303960688386
MaxxAudio:
Androidfilehost: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24369303960688385
Poweramp or Blackplayer and MX Player: only player which at the time the process has been tested, but I suppose that many others are compatible.
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for any Soft/Hard Brick. Try at your own risk.
Steps:
1. Place downloaded ZIP files on your Internal or External SD Card.
2. MAKE A BACKUP, VERY IMPORTANT! Things can happen.
3. Use TWRP Recovery to Flash the Zip File.
4. Reboot to recovery
5. Flash ViPER4MM.zip
6. Flash maxxaudio.zip
7. Reboot
8. Open maxxaudio app and turn on it
9. Open viper app and install the driver
10. Reboot
11. After reboot open maxxaudio app and disable it for phone and headphone both
12. Reboot again
13. Enjoy the power of music
Recommended Music player: PowerAMP
PowerAMP will work on Normal and Compatible Mode.
For Normal Mode you must Disable BOTH Direct Volume Control & BT Direct Volume Control even if you're on wired headphones, under "Settings>Audio>Advanced Tweaks" to Disable.
For Compatible Mode you are free to use DVC but you must Enable MusicFX under "Settings>Audio>Advanced Tweaks", then under Tone/VOL you can trigger the MusixFX button and V4A will work.
if you are on MM Based ROM and you have personal profiles to load, then
Goto: data\media\legacy\ViPER4android\Profile folder
Add your profiles
be sure to change the permissions of these files to rw-r-r, otherwise V4A can't read them and won't load them.
Enjoy V4A with MaxxAudio ...

Did you do as instructed like turning off maxxaudio and then rebooting .
I had already installed the latest Maxxaudio by OPO but had the same issue that it didn't work with Viper4android as both act as audiofx app .
Worstenbrood tried something but then he got busy and never tried again .

It's work on my z3c
Thanks @ahrion and @worstenbrood @aki_007
I will try it out just for the fun of it. I realize that for the best audio one should have only one system wide mod like Extreme Beats or Dragon-Fi(for HTC users) with a few apps with different audio features.
On lg g2 stuck on starting apps, than bootloops after force restart

A lot of that stuff is placebo. If you do a boot log you'll see 90% of the libs not even loading.

That shouldn't happen. Are you getting an error when you flash?
Works with SGS 3 just have to tweak the EQ of the music and movie settings. The default EQ is good.
Doesn't work on m8, the app loads fine, just doesn't do anything, shouldn't there be some sort of audio.conf edit?
Working on SGS2 (D710)/CM11/ViPER4Android/Neutron. Flashed no drama with CWM 6.0.5.1. Thank you for all your great mods!

That's like asking how does HTC android differ from Samsung android.
Honestly, do a backup and try it. Report back here.

Very well. I'm just going to assume that this does nothing different than OPO's MaxxAudio nor does it sound better (just like the rest of the audio mods out there, with the exception if V4A).
Honestly, what's so hard about writing a few lines describing the features it provides?

I didn't ask you what MaxxAudio is.. I asked you what do they differ from each other. If they don't (or if you don't know), then say so.
I could tell their differences from the screenshots (3 modes and MaxxDialog), I asked in case if anything is left out from them.

Yes, I flashed it and it works, but first I uninstalled Viper4Android. I think it's better to be on the safe side. I think I will go back to Viper, because it has far more options.

Why it most likely is working on stock is due to; ND
3.5mm jack Yes
- Dolby mobile
The SW of G3 does support Dolby Mobile while CM doesn't and that's probably why it doesn't work.
However i stick with V4A since i think it's way better (tested this mod on note 10.1) and it was OK but not too good
Does it work fine or should it keep V4A?

V4A Have Much More Sound Options Than Dolby.
No. But if You Want Try You Should Backup And İnstall Dolby.
This Mod Generally Work On All Devices. This İs Universal Mod
get this pop & play feature look really cool with ds atmos
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UDxyI8zS_0
I'm using rooted stock 20P with a custom kernel and I'm able to have both Dolby and V4A installed and running however every now and then there is a .5 second break in audio which might be due to buffering (is it possible to confirm this), the sound quality is great as well and better still when using good quality head / ear phones.
Hi! ¿works with stock rom? ¿works with youtube/spotify?

How to Install Viper4Arise on Galaxy S8/S8+ (Exynos)

Hello. I made an YouTube tutorial on how to install Viper4Arise audio module on the Galaxy S8 so that we can unleash the audio power of this beast. Enjoy!
XDA THREAD IS HERE
Can you please look directly to the file you installed? I went to the XDA thread and find the only install file available was the Magnus Opus file and that fails on install.
I would love to have viper running on my phone so could you please link to the file you used?
Thanks

Hi evryone
This method works fine but I have a problem and I don't think it's normal.
After flashing the sound of the speaker was disgusting, so squeaky.
I'm on the renovate Rom v1
I'm on nemesis ROM and it's perfect. Did you flash any modules during the install? I just installed the core 2.5.0.5 package and I skipped everything else except I did remove the buffer (one of the options along the way) and then rebooted and it's perfect.
Since there's no uninstall method you'll have to either wipe and flash renovate or perhaps check out nemesis.

Yes, seriously, it sounds fine.
Im on a rooted stock rom, But i can't install the drivers of this app i get the following message:
''Driver Install Failed: The busybox installation found on your device does not work. This usually means you installed a wrong or broken busybox. v4a needs stericson's busybox to work''
Has anybody else got this working on a stock ROM ?
*fixed by using the file aroma installer with the drivers already download.
If you're on the stock ROM you need to install BusyBox from the play store before attempting to install V4A. The stock ROM had no need "officially" for BusyBox, hence it's absence.
I would hope that you thought of this upon reading the door at the end if the failed install....?
works great...thanks...!!

is stereo sound possible (Not via headphones) ?
which version of busybox and where to install it to? dont want to install in wrong path
thx for help
hello guys,
Can we increase the sound level with this mod?
I'm quite OK with the sound quality of S8 but its level is not enough to me.
Is it possible to increase the headphone sound level with V4Arise?
TIA
Please, please, PLEASE stop making Youtube guides!
Yes, I understand many like to watch it instead of reading it, I'm not fighting that. I also understand the amount of time and resources dedicated to making such a video. But that's exactly what makes it more harmful to the community.
Things change. In half a year, it is perfectly possible that the installation procedure will be totally different, but you've stepped away from the phone, from the project, and the video guide is not updated. Mr. Noobly Guidesearchsson wants to do X for his phone Y, finds your video "How to do X on phone Y", and tries it. But **** has changed, and the video does not reflect those changes. Since you stepped away from it, there's no sign of it not working, and since Mr. Guidesearchsson is a total noob, he does not look further than the first Google hit. He follows the guide and bricks his phone, and is angry at the maker of the guide, for a reason. It does not work any more! So why isn't it updated, or marked as such? Because the maker did not update it, as he/she is not working on said project or even phone any more!
So please, and this is a message to all who make video guides, just stop. Unless you're doing a video guide on non-changing stuff (say, hardware), instead of spending so much time making the video, cutting, getting music, whatnot, write it down instead in steps! It's easier to update, and if you post your guide here, admins and moderators can update it later based on user input.

Module is awesome, but I can't seem to get aptx working On 8.1 Oreo. I have an aptx headset that I have used with other phones that support aptx for a while, not sure if you can fix this bit would be appreciated.. I'll buy you a beer on payday or something if you can @raimondomartire

It seems that my build.prop is read only, and even magisk modules can't modify it (though other modules like viper are working) - not sure if that helps!

this is not something you can select as you please. aptx will automatically activate when connected to a device that prefers/supports it. if you are connected to a device that you KNOW supports aptx and it's not showing aptx when connected to said device, then you might have a problem.

TEST AND REPORT!!
I permanently damaged 2 loudspeakers back to back by using Dolby & Viper together on Oreo. I was using the same setup as Nougat, but it still happened. So be careful with these ports.

It's an audio enhancer bro... You should not test this with increase in volume of the speaker... After all it's a software...
You should test it for making songs more Moody and beautiful to listen....
Generally you should use headphones with limited bass capability... For speakers unless not supported should not be used because it damages the speaker like yours...
Sorry for being harsh but you're pushing much harder than the hardware capabilities...
Thanks for sharing...
Is it working together with V4A?
App not appearing on launchet

Yes
I flash this yesterday. Don't see any difference in sound quality before update and after. OmniROM.

It's working perfectly with pixel experience. Speaker sounds improvement is less noticeable. If you want to know it's working or not then use headphone .

After all its a product... Which can trouble any moment like mine's vibration motor speed working after set to strong in miui...
If you are using n2os build, you don't need to enhance speaker...
Also bass plays an important role in destruction of low end speakers... It's okay... Now you have to replace this to service centre if you have warranty...
Working perfectly on Nos 8.1!:victory:
