I have been trying to root my phone but can not find a way to do this then I came across a website that refers to your site as to how to install marshmallow 6 on this phone but if you try to download the ROM from there website all you get are more links to complete a load of offers, but even tough you follow the video you will not get the download. Do you know of this as I can not find any reference to it on your site is it genuine or are they just referring to your site to make it plausible and get people to just complete there ridiculous offers.
Are there any plans in the future to include this phone for rom updates and bootloader unlocking.

Hello, I've impulsively bought a Huawei Ascend Y6. That's my fault and all, but I'd like to be able to install a custom ROM on it at the very least.
However, I see very little information on it over the web, and I can't find any ROM which supports it. Is there some way I can install my own OS on the device, without GApps and with F-Droid instead? What should I be doing if I want to get a custom ROM installed on this device when I get it?
Thanks very much for your time.

Hi,
Thanks for using XDA Assist.
I just had a quick look and I couldn't find any Y6 specific development. I see that you've already opened up your own thread. If you don't get a response there then feel free to ask in the friendly Q&A thread here->[Ask Any Question][Newbie Friendly] .Experts there may be able to help you.

Yep, I'm asking around a lot here. No Y6 ROMs, as you've mentioned. So far, my options are to root the device and purge as much nasty stuff out of the phone as I can, mail the phone back and buy something much more expensive (IMO this phone has good hardware for the price), or try my hand at developing myself.
I can only imagine that things would go very wrong if I tried the last option. There don't seem to be any third-party recovery modes for the Y6, so I wouldn't be able to screw up at all. So I guess that's out of question.
Huawei H891L - Android 4.4.4 - Windows 7 PC
So I've had this phone for a while and after a fair amount of research I've decided to root it. Unfortunately, I just don't know enough about software customization to attempt it without some clear direction. And to be honest, I can't afford to wreck my phone. I've tried a couple of the one touch root ...things. And even the ones that list my device as supported, have failed or told me after downloading my device actually isn't supported. I think I got duped by the creators just listing as many phones as possible so people like me would download it.
The bottom line is, I'm smart enough to follow instructions, I just need to be directed to a root process that definitely supports my phone and won't turn my device into a paperweight.
Thank you for any help, just please keep the technical jargon to a minimum because this isn't my area of expertise.

So recently a customer of mine asked if it would be possible to put android stock software from lets say a note 5 or edge on a clone iPhone. As far as I understand these clone iPhone's run a similar android system but with a apple launcher. Would it be possible to root this and put a different stock software on one of these clones? Thanks! and if you get your info from somewhere else please site so I can read more on the subject!

New Development for Samsung SGH-1437P?
I'm New to this and spent about an hour looking for the answer to this question. I suspect that the Samsung SGH-1437P is fairly old Technology even though I just bought it through a friend of mine. I guess I'm going to find out if $100. for this phone is really a good deal or not.
What I am Looking for:
I was able to root the phone and rid it of all the AT&T Bloatware and I was able to ReFlash the rom with the currently posted compatible CyanogenMod Version 11-201606612-NIGHTLY-expressatt ! At Least I believe THAT is the most current. If there are other Newer or better custom roms I'd like to know about it. It says the build date is Sun Jun 12 00:47:37 PDT 2016 so it probably is. I also have another question.
I forgot to back up my apps and I have some that were purchased thru the Google PlayStore. Am I hosed?
Thank you for this consideration. Murph.

Hi, I am having issues with my Doogee X5 pro since I did an OTA update from R12 (i think, or possibly from R15) to R17.
Since the update the phone will not boot, it just stops at the DOOGEE logo and goes no further. Of course I have done the usual factory reset through the recovery menu. I should point out that this error is possibly my fault as I did root/unroot the phone prior to the update.
What I am asking from XDA assist is help finding a method to reinstall a stock rom, as this will probably resolve the issue. I have looked all over the web and through the XDA forums for a guide to flash the stock rom, but any guides I have found either do not explain the complete steps properly or the associated download links do not work. It would appear that flashing the X5 is not as simple as say a Galaxy S2 (which I have done before).
I was going to post a question in the forums to see if some one could explain to me how to to this, but I thought it would be right to ask XDA assist first to see if this has already been done (although I have been unable to find it).
many thanks,
MD
