Stuck on "Update HTC Sense Home" loop - Verizon HTC One (M8)

Hi all,
I'm stuck on this screen after trying to do a factory reset:

I rooted to S off, and have been using TWRP to flash; the previous ROM was NuSenseven's. I decided to switch to a Venom, which was a premature idea, since Verizon hasn't gone to Marshmallow yet. So I flashed a 4.6.1 ROM, and that started issues. (Going from Marshmallow ROM to a Lollipop ROM?) BTW, I have a trouble ticket on Venom's page also.
I did a factory reset, to see if I could get back, and this is what I am stuck on. I can browse the device on a PC, but I no longer have ADK access, since I am at work.
TWRP can't seem to find the previous backup, although I can see it. (The SD Card was formatted during the factory reset) I don't know enough to be useful, just enough to be dangerous. I would like to revert back to the NuSenseven, or anything to get past this white screen. My next try will be to access an ADK computer, so I can install the updated firmware, if I can't get TWRP to find the backup file.
Thanks for any and all help,
gmcpcs

I was able to recover, I did a factory reset in TWRP rather than using the wipe/ factory reset in bootloader. I have my phone back now.
Now if I can figure out this SD card issue.
Take it easy,

Hey,
Yeah usually flashing a different OS version on top of each other is a no no. Especially going downwards is shooting a bullet through your phones OS.
Best practice: Wipe/factory reset, wipe cache/dalvik, wipe system, then flash the new ROM you want. (after you back up everything of course, and TWRP backup too if you're unsure)
In terms of SD card, you can try easeus mobisaver for android. Its a free program to attempt to recovery deleted files off an SD card. You may get some.. Results aren't guaranteed, but I've had some luck in the past. I believe the free version lets you recover one file at a time. Can try that and see where it gets you.

Here's a further update on the HTC One M8 and my specific issue. I suggest googling "Android Marshmallow and adoptable storage". In my process of flashing different ROMs, one time I formatted my external SD card as "internal storage". (More is better, right?) Unfortunately this creates issues for those who are rooted and flashing ROMs using TWRP. This may have created a "bootloop" issue? But this article's method to fix bootloop issues is what I ended up doing:
http://wccftech.com/fix-sd-card-as-internal-memory-on-android-6-issues/
From what I have read, it is much better to just format your external SD card, (HTC M8's are still devices that have those) as "removable storage" rather than as "internal storage". Sometimes it's hard to find a solution to your problem, if you don't know what you don't know

One Concern And Question When It Comes To Flashing Custom Roms....NEW USER OF NEXUS S
Ok the Nexus S does not have a micro sd slot everything is internal, i was curious to the fact of flashing a new rom. I know that when you flash a new rom you have to wipe everything through the clockworkmod and than flash the new rom but being as though you wipe the phone does that erase your music pictures and files etc thats on the usb storage??? Im coming from a g2 and of course it had a sd slot so cleaning the memory calvlik(if im spelling it right) and do a factory wipe was no issue because your music and everything was on the card. So my question is do i have to backup my music etc or is it safe to do the necessary wipes before flashing a custom rom since it may be on seperate memory banks within the phone. Thanks for any comments or answers.
Short answer, it will not wipe your music, pics, etc. It only wipes the data and cache on your separate system partition. Music data and such will be untouched between flashing roms and wiping data. You can only wipe your music by either erasing the storage through settings, intentionally formatting it or unlocking the bootloader.

how do i know if my bootlader is unlocked? where can i check to make sure?
The nexus s comes with a locked bootloader. Unless you unlocked it yourself, then its stays locked. You can tell if you have an unlocked bootloader from the Google splash screen when your first turn on your phone. If you see an unlocked padlock then its unlocked. If you see nothing other than Google, then its locked.

when i turn my phone on it says google in the center and the padlock is open beneath the words

Sorry for the bluryness I hope this helps
my bootloader is unlocked. so if i flash a new rom all my music/pictures will be erased?
No, it only wipes your personal data whenever you perform the actual unlocking of the bootloader. (Which it seems you've already done) After that, with an unlocked bootloader you are golden. Your personal data will be untouched unless something extremely out of the ordinary happens. You can flash in and out with ease.
A reminder, if you ever decide to lock your bootloader again and then unlock it, it WILL wipe everything. If you have any doubts, back up your storage data prior to flashing a new rom so you can get the hang of things.

Tried many "fixes" and still in boot loop.

I've been stuck in a boot loop on one of my G-Tabs for about 4 days now. Been trying every fix I can find to no avail so far. I have the Viewsonic to G-Tablet boot loop. I keep noticing people reffering to using NVFlash with the Img9 fix to add in ClockWord mod. Many said to do that flash then to wipe the data, which is where the problem lies. I get this error everytime I try:

Hello KJ and thanks for replying, I have seen you offer help to alot of people so thanks for dropping by here too.
I have tried that as well and it hasn't done anything. I don't know if it is the order in which I am doing things or what on this tab. My other one works like a dream but it was done before the 4539 (I think that's right) update came out.
I have done the NV Flash and added CWM via Ext SD and then partitioned and that was a no go. I also tried doing Roebeet's example of doing NVFlash and changing te Img9 file as well with a repart and that didn't work either.
I also tried this "fix" and even it didn't work.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=974422
I'm not giving up because from all I am reading, these things seem immpossible to fully brick. I also feel pretty safe to say that it is my fault and that maybe I don't have the correct order for doing the entire process but I have tried until I turned blue in the face before giving up and going to bed.
Well... what your tablet is having trouble mounting is the partitions that you should be creating with the repartitioning. /dev/blk/mmcblk3 is the internal memory. Are you familiar with ADB?
No not at all. I googled during this and saw Android Debug Manager. Something with that I should try? I definitely don't claim to be the smartest guy on the block but at the same time I pick up this stuff well and am not really scared to try something if you have an idea.
Congrats, man. I think you're the first to truly brick his gtab.

Unfortunately, I'm not a good enough teacher (I lack the proper patience) to get someone going with ADB from scratch. Especially since my development environment is somewhat unusual so I often have no frame of reference to assist in setting up the tools. So, if you're up to it, you need to do one of two things. Either get ADB installed and running on your computer or get a rooted ROM and a terminal emulator on the device that we need to work on.
Your situation is somewhat different from the others in that you can actually get CWM installed and get into recovery. I still think that perhaps some combination of partitioning, data wipe and fix permissions should be working for you. What I would do in your case is:
1) Data wipe one more time (perhaps use: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1030915)
2) Reboot into CWM recovery and repartition
3) nvflash the stock ROM again (without CWM)
4) Factory reset from the ROM settings
If that fails then research setting up ADB for your computer and we'll discuss some diagnostics you can run from that.
Thanks KJ, I will try those when I get home this evening.

What is it you're trying to do? AFAIK you're on official bootloader. This won't do anything more than flash an official ROM. If you have this ROM on your sdcard, it'll locate it automatically and starts flashing it. If you want to flash other custom roms, you need to install custom recoveries like CWM ot TWRP. Make sure you follow the instructions and pay particular attention to what official ROM you're on (Hint: search forum for pertinent threads). From where I'm sitting, the first thumb is not that clear, but I'd guess you're on 4.2 since it doesn't have the fastboot USB icon. Mistakes can brick your tab.
i was trying to install cyanogenmod 10 on my system, but i folllowed instructions about getting into a bootloader, and to wipe it off data and cache,i did that but that after that is says that i have to install from sd card. i cant find that selections, i got cyanogenmod on my sd card, but how do i install that cym on my tablet, and yes i'm on the version android 4.2.1.....

Check this thread out. You'd need to install a custom recovery first (I always rely on TWRP for this tab) using ADB. Then you can flash your favorite CM10 with it. Post your questions if you have difficulties following the instructions. Have fun.
in this tutorials does not shows how to install a cyanogenmod 10,,it only shows how to update, for update i have done that, and for rooting its all done, but i dont see nowhere about installing cym10...

You gotta have custom recoveries to flash CM10. Since you're on 4.2.1, you want to follow instructions here to downgrade to 104220 official. Once there, install a custom recovery (TWRP 2.5.0.0), then flash CM10 in accordance with this thread. If you prefer CM 10.1, search in development section. There are at least 2 or 3 threads.

Soft brick one sv

Hi everyone. Please bear with me I am a complete noob at this stuff.
I have a HTC one sv c525e K2_ul 4.2.2 S-on in Aus with optus (maybe LTE??)
The storage space for apps is tiny so I wanted to root the phone to re-compartment space.
I eventually found and followed the tutorial by qbking77 to unlock the phone and root it. I did well up until entering recovery to root the phone. The twrp image I used didn't work on my phone. I tried several of them with same result. Somewhere along the line I got the bootloop. I don't recall if it was before or after I tried to flash this I think I tried some other kernel that I can't find now.
Anyway I went back to twrp and tried more images. One finally worked to get into recovery. It was- twrp-2.8.6.0-k2_cl.img 10.4M the second listing under HTC One SV Boost USA (k2_cl).
So now I could enter recovery mode I went back to qbking77's tutorial. I found the options and process on my phone was different to his and I had a few errors come up like unable to mount sdcard, storage and some other stuff. As a result I was unable to do a back up and unable to install super user. From there I still got the bootloop.
Although internal sdcard and storage was unable to mount the phone did see the external sd card. So I loaded the super user zip direct from pc to sd card and opened the zip in recovery. Still bootloop.
I was wondering if I managed to unwittingly delete some important ****. So in my brilliance to persevere with screwing with it, I loaded the venom ROM (and some kernel) onto the ext sd card and opened it in recovery. Still several errors came up and I wasn't given any options to pick before flashing. It did say installation was a success at the end. Still got bootloop.
So I am hoping someone might see an obvious f-up that would turn into an easy fix .........
So I've been doing some reading  but I'm no better off. I watched closely what I was doing and I was getting an MD5 error. I tried downloading the zips in firefox so as not to corrupt them but the phone is still coming up with 'missing MD5'.
I'm thinking my only option at this point is to run the RUU as I've seen that suggested a few times to others. Looks like a PITA but I guess it's that or new phone
I don't know when I'll get around to doing it.
Looking into RUU I need the S-off. Since I can't boot the system does anyone know how I can switch the S to off through fastboot or recovery?
So I was too lazy to run the RUU. I again attempted to flash the viper ROM. In recovery it says it was a success but I still get the bootloop. I noticed when I went into recovery something would flash up on the screen but it was too quick for me to read so I took a picture of it. Does anyone know what any of it means?

[Completed] [Q] [TCL s950/Alcatel OneTouch Idol X] Completely messed up storage?

Hello everyone!
I, quite recently, bought an Alcatel Idol X 6040X (the one with only one micro-sim slot) and decided it's a good idea to root it. After a few minutes I managed to root it with Kingo Root. Everything was working perfect but later the phone started misbehaving - every app, every single smurfing app started crashing no reason whatsoever. I decided I'd do a factory wipe and get a better ROM (because the stock ROM sucks pants, lmao); I installed this ROM. Everything ran so smooth so I went to tinker with the options and noticed that the "About Phone" section says that my phone is now a Nexus 4. "Okay, I guess" - I said shrugging. "Everything is running good so why worry?"
Later I noticed some apps started misbehaving so I went to storage and discovered that my phone mounted its inner storage twice. One being the SD Card, the other being the Inner Storage (And both showed different contents).
First I booted up to recovery to fix permissions. Everything went well, also wiped Dalvik and Cache; then booted up the system, wham - a bootloop. After resolving it by reinstalling the ROM everything was fine again so I went on to reinstall XPosed. I noticed it won't work, because somehow, Superuser went completely absent. So I went to Terminal Emulator, punched in "su" but nothing happened. So I rooted the phone again (with Kingo Root again) and root with its SuperUser worked fine again, but the SD Card/Inner Storage unmount bug persisted.
I decided to unmount and mount SD card and my SD card showed up, everything was okay. Strangely, it unmouted its inner storage and said it was okay to remove it. Yes, You read that right, inner storage was okay to remove. Aaand... TADAAA! Gapps crashed. SwiftKey crashed. Acore crashed. Everything went on crashing again.
After rebooting everything went back to normal (in my case, the inner storage mounting twice but at least nothing crashed). I decided to see what would happen if I moved everything from the so-called SD Card to inner storage and mount my SD card. Now, every single app is crashing again even after reboot.
What do I do to fix the issue? Especially the one with mounting/unmounting my SD Card and Inner storage, it's the most infuriating thing ever! Maybe there's a better ROM but I can't find it?
Thanks in advance!
P.S. The LED light also stopped working.
