[Q] G920i in Europe

Hello guys, I just recently bought a galaxy s6 g920i factory unlocked I'm from Mexico however I have checked the device already in NY, Chicago, Omaha and Miami and south countries like Brazil and Argentina. Anyway I'm gonna stay in Europe for the next year and I'm wondering if this version will make it over there or should I buy the F version. I've been reading posts about the F version in USA and so on so I couldn't find anything about the I version in Europe so if you can help me I will be glad; Thanks. Regards.

Can I localise from Hong Kong to Europe?

Hi.
Having gone through a lot of searching, downloading etc, the phone I bought from an online shop is based in Hong Kong. I have an LG G4 H815T which I have been told by LG is derived from HK so is localised there, which means some android apps wont work here in the UK.
I flashed a rootedsystem last night successfully from the tomes of your great site and was wondering if the same could be done to flash a rom image local to a European one. At the moment I have software version V10c-HKG-xx android 5.1 but not sure if I can ever become re-nationalised as it were.
Would a flash of a Cyanogenmod do the trick or is this not possible to achieve ?
Thanks for any help.
Jubbs.

Can I run a stock G920F rom on a G920i?

Hey,
So I've recently gotten an Australian S6 G920i and was wondering if I would be able to flash a G920F rom to it. As far as I know the phones are practically identical so I cannot see why it wouldn't be possible, I just don't want to have to wait for the Australian carriers to update the firmware, plus the bloatware is gross (bootscreen, apps, etc.). Tried to look for a similar thread but couldn't find anything, help would greatly be appreciated
Thanks!
Hi soymllk,
What carrier are you using?
I assume you are on 5.1.1 firmware.
Just took a quick look at sammobile and found Vodafone firmware from 01/14/2016.

You can flash an unbranded firmware on your G920I. Running a 920F firmware isn't possible on your phone.
The only difference in the 920I and 920F are the LTE bands. The 920I has the same FDD-LTE bands as a a 920F, however it also carries additional TDD-LTE bands for Australia, India, Singapore and a few other countries.

Hey guys, thanks for your help! Before I saw any of this I went to SamMobile and flashed the Vodafone ROM (knowing that Vodafone don't customize phones at all, unlike Optus...) so all the bloatware crap is gone now Thanks!
(BTW I'm with Vodafone but the phone was originally an Optus phone so it had all their stuff on it, including a lovely "Hellooooooooo" welcome and "cya ya!!" shut down screen-_-)

Firmware and ROMs for Chinese version G9700?

I have the chance of getting for quite cheap a Chinese version of the S10e. While I've read that it should work alright where I live as it is, it seems I can't install a different International firmware. Would that prevent me from installing future custom ROMs? If yes, is it possible to change the firmware?
Also, is it possible to install a Hong Kong firmware? Both versions are G9700, but I suppose the HK firmware is more international and has Google Play.
Got the same phone last week from China. HK firmware is a must. You can easily flash it with Odin. Unfortunately you can't flash other official firmwares.

HK firmware is similar to EU or US, right? Do you get OTAs after flashing?

yeah, both the Samsung S10 Note10 series . the HK version and the China Mainland version, their hardware are all the same. So of course you can get OTA after flashing a Chinese Mainland version S10's ROM into HK version ROM.
BTW, you guys get a Chines mainland version cheap ? Chinese Mainland verion is the most expensive version for us, all of us tries to buy a HK Version Samsung smartphone and Flash it into Chinese Mainland ROM, for the HK version is Cheaper.

are you referring to Mainland S10e as SM-G9708 and HK S10e as SM-G9700? so both firmwares are interchangable?
I have a SM-G9708 (bought from China Mobile; with China Mobile bootscreen), i also got Google Services and Play Store working on it. But Google Pay doesn't work. So i thought later, when i move back to Europe, to flash HK firmware to get Google Pay working.

it's very odd that Samsung has Chinese mobile customized S10 series (which has Chinese Mobile bootscreen). ,for Samsung has less than 1% smart phone market share in China. BTB, almost all the Samsung phones' models in China Mainland has the same hardware as the HK version. So Flash a HK rom to your S10e is feasible. BTW, you can even try Unlocking oem and flash a customized ROM, available on this forum:

Is it possible for SM-N976B to be flashed to Hong kong region (TGY)?

Hi all,
I've tried to search but no luck specifically to my region
I bought a SM-N976B from a friend and i couldn't use Samsung pay.
I brought it to the Samsung store and they said i have a different region.
I ended up searching if it is possible to change the region by flashing, I've got mixed results and I downloaded Frija and couldn't search the firmware i want to use...
I'm currently using this model SM-N976B and would like to change the firmware region to HONG KONG so that i could use the "Samsung pay x Octopus".
Could anyone please help me point me in the right direction?
Kind regards
Mike
