Hello,
I brought my turbo Edition Moto g on 14th January. I want to know which memory will work best with this mobile.
I am interested in 32GB, class 10 memory card. However, motorola support told me that class 10 MAY have compatibility issues with moto g turbo.
Please suggest if anyone is using class 10, 32GB card with this mobile? Also, please share me flipkart link of same if possible. Also, if not then which card you are using share it here for better selection.
OR suggest me if I should not go for class 10?
Thanks.
Please someone suggest..

Using SanDisk 64 GB Class 10... NO issues till date...
Basically, get the biggest and fastest card you can afford from a dealer who is reputable (there are TONS of fake cards out there)...
UHS-1 as minimum, UHS-3 is possible although I understand in some parts of the world they are expensive and hard to fine... a normal Class 10 card does not allow fast enough writing to it. I would recommend in no particular order any quality SanDIsk, PNY, Transcend, Lexar, or Samsung card with a minimum of UHS-1 support, buying a faster card is definitely worth it if you can find/afford one.
Try to avoid generic or lower end cards, the results will probably be... ummm... let's just say disappointing.

Portable mode.. As suggested get a UHS-1 or UHS-3 card for faster transfer speed. You will get 64 GB for 1400-1700 Rupees

So I know it works great in portable mode. Here I am talking about issue while using it as internal storage in marshmallow. Sdcard is getting corrupted. I got it replaced from sanddisk. Mine is 32gb 48mbps card class 10.

I didn't test on the Moto G yet, but the Samsung Pro microsdhc is very fast and pretty cheap.
http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/memory-storage/MB-MG32EA/AM
Read speed up to 90 mb/s and write speed up to 80 mb/s (write speed is important and very fast on this one)

More the class, more speed will be for read/write things in SD card. Such that when you want to copy 50MB file in SD card or from SD card, class 10 SD cards copies faster than Class 6 or Class 4. Similar is the case in reading data. I guess, you got the point.

is there a difference between class 4 companies. I mean is there a difference between sandisk class 4 to transcend class 4, or it should be the simillar speeds?
class 6
there isn's any difference in the writing speed for the same class sd cards of different companies. i'll also suggest you class 6 to be on the safer side. hit thanks if this helped

Actually I would recommend a class 6 or 10, the price difference isn't that great anyway. The speed is well worth the price increase.

You may as well get a class 6 or higher. It's not like they're pricey and they'd do a better job for you in the end. Instead of looking for the minimum of what will work, look instead for what does the job best.

The class IS the speed. The only difference between companies is their quality control. Sandisk has the best quality control, so you're slightly less likely to get a defective stick from them. Its really not a major difference in either case.

the class is a standard set by the SD association. any card classified as a class 4 should be the same/similar to other brands of class 4.
the only exception to this are the fakes (of which many abound on ebay)

so I am going on Transcend class 10
I would suggest a class 10, because I previously used a class 4 and encountered many problems and slow transfers. May cost a little bit more, but personally I think its worth it.
I have a 16 GB Kingston class 10 micro SD and it works quite fine. Now I am thinking of increasing my storage and browsed the rates of 32 GB SD cards. Although they seem affordable but the reviews for them are quite bad. Is it advisable to buy a 32GB class 10 SD card?.
Further, if yes, which brand would you suggest?

If you're using maclaw's roms you can use a 64GB card.
I have a sandisk 16GB, no problem, good speed, works fine !
I have a Transcend 32GB, class 10, kind of like the one you had ozi5783. Bought it a few months ago, but if I knew then that I was going to use CyanogenMod, I would've waited a little bit longer, and bought a 64GB one. Not that I need that much space, but it would just be awesome to have... On the other hand, I guess that then I could store ALL of my favourite things (media) on it, and that's always handy.
Now, as far as I know, the stock phone supports "only" up to 32GB microSD, but like mauam said, with maclaw's roms you can use a 64GB card. Don't know if anyone tried it, though...
Btw, my card works nice and fast, no issues whatsoever... Very pleased.

Well, I finnaly did a test with A1 SD benchmark, and this is the result. I use CM11 by maclaw.

I use a Samsung Pro 64gb uhs1.
Writing speed is about 10mbps and reading is 20mbps.
It works well on Maclaw's roms, but is not reconized on Stock rom.
I have a common 8 Gb, works fine with the Cyanogen 4.4.2. I don't think is worth buying a expensive one.
I have a Transcend 32gb and it works well specially on maclaws rom.
I'm using a Kingston 64 GB SD-XHC class 10 on Stock Rom, and even without root, I'm able to read it flawlessly :good:
I'm using a 32Gb Kingston external card and it's awesome!
I have a Kingston 8gb but I'm planning to buy a 32gb.
Does the size play role to the speed? I read that if you have an external SD card with big capacity, let's say 32gb, the speed would be slower if you compare it with an external SD card of 8gb. Is that true?
I lost my transcend 32gb class10 and I'm back to old 4gb class4 I lost many games

I just tested my Sandisk Ultra 16gb with the RAW option of camera, well while it takes only 3 seconds to save using internal memory, with the MicroSD Sandisk Ultra it takes 6 to 9 seconds!!!
The writing speed is about 10-15mb/s with the Ultra.
I was going to buy a 64gb card Ultra but when I saw how slow it works with the RAW (and perhaps 4K recording) I think it will be better to buy a 32GB Samsung Pro that would give 75 to 80mb/s .
What do you think?
Anyone using a Sandisk Extreme or Samsung Pro MicroSD on their M9?

I haven't paid attention to the RAW files yet.

I'm considering purchase of this phone - sounds like support for a micro SDcard works well, so is there any benefit to buying the 64 or 32GB internal storage models vs. the 16GB model? I can capture video and do TWRP backups to the (relatively inexpensive) SDcard, so what am I missing on a cheaper 16GB phone?

Is the Moto X a UHS-I or UHS-II compatible host device? The extra cost of these higher-end sdcards would be wasted otherwise, correct?
Edit - I googled this topic and found this post: https://forums.motorola.com/posts/8cda627ead . In short, it confirms that the Moto X benefits from / takes advantage of a UHS-1 U3 microSD card. @EmperorX makes a good suggestion.
I still want to know if I really want to spend extra for a 32 or 64GB Moto X, given that I can buy a 32GB UHS-1 U3 card for US $15.

Can you report on the relative performance of your higher-end microSD card vs. the internal storage? For example:
compare the time it takes to do a TWRP backup of the whole phone to internal vs. the microSD card
Capture full QHD video directly to the microSD card
