hello all,
i have recently purchased HTC one m8 Verizon from eBay. i am in Kuwait and using VIVA network, the mobile is notifying me that the your sim card is unknown. i cannot use hotpot sharing and even USB. it is look the mobile is locked to Verizon wireless.
can someone help me out with providing the easy way to resolve the issues.

Hi,
Me being a total phone noob, bought a HTC sprint evo 4g and brought it outside the US. There is no simcard slot, so i cannot change my service provider, it seems it is definitely locked to Sprint. Is there a way that to be able to use the phone outside the US? will rooting the phone allow the phone to work with a different service provider?
My friend took the the phone to a third party company and they offer unlock services so they unlocked it for me.
The phone was bought in AT&T and he unlocked it so it work with T-Mobile. Everything works good except... it's LTE signal is just not there at all, so he was thinking on selling it forward because he was very frustrated with all this.
So I offered my help and told him I will ask here for answers before he sell it.
All help will be appreciated.

I'm looking to import a M8 and I was wondering if the Verizon version is unlocked. I know Verizon list it as a global phone so I would like to know if I would be able to use it in my country. My local carrier supports the 700 LTE band. I'm also wondering if the device is indeed unlocked if I would be able to use LTE with my local carrier. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This. It is Sim unlocked, there's a thread somewhere about people trying it out on various carriers.. But you're better off just buying an unlocked model, as there seems to have been some inconsistencies with the Verizon model and GSM.

Folks, just a question here as I have contemplated switching phones, I have someone who has a almost new HTC One M8 from Sprint and they are wanting to sell it relatively cheap, I'm with Verizon using a Iphone 5S with sim card, is it possible to purchase the phone and stick my sim card into it and having it work on the Verizon network and get LTE?
I know they are both CDMA carriers but wasn't sure.

It *should* work but you may be limited to 3g
I have a htc m8 verizon. I bought it from ebay. The guy said he had it workin on t-mobile. Im living in guyana located in south america. Im not getting any service connection. The phone is rooted, s-off and the bootloader has been unlocked. Is there any way i can get gsm connection with this phone ? Presently im not getting the option to use gsm when im in global mode

Hi friend! This is herna from XDA Assist team.
You have not signal since seems your device does not have a working SIM. As you can see on the statusbar there is a SIM icon and a ?.
So it can seems two things:
1. You have no SIM inserted/detected.
2. You are not getting any kind of signal.
If 1 is the problem just check your SIM. If 2 is the problem, you will be asked here about it after I move the thread to the correctly forum.
For the next time you want to ask about HTC M8 you need to do it HERE
I will move the thread to the place where it should be so you will get the best answer possible from users that also have the same device than you.
