Hello guys,
I just got my Mate 8, Chinese version. I installed all the Google apps and logged in without too many difficulties, but when I want to sync all my contacts from Google account, I just can't get it to work! When trying to add a contacts account, there is no Google option, so I even tried to do it manually with a 'corporate' account, but it did not go through as well.
Any ideas on how to do it? I really like this phone, but I don't want to import all my contacts and not have them synced.
Finally got it fixed!
You should download googlecontactssync.apk move it to system/app set permissions and restart you device. Now you will have an option to sync your contacts in accounts under Google.
Hope the is will help others.

Edit: Answered my own question.
Install the said apk (Thanks OP) => goto Settings => Apps => locate "Google Contacts Sync" => give permission to contacts => reboot
After reboot, google contacts start to sync and appears in dialer/contact section.
Google Contacts is available in the Chinese app Store? Thanks

You can use ES File Explorer (download from google play store)

It is, and attached screenshot is for the contacts sync. It will come up when you search for "google contacts sync", although not the first hit in the search result. You will have to scroll down and try to match and find it.

IF you are on cm9/cm10/AOKP/PA then you can flash Gapps in Recovery to have it back.

5. Reboot.

Be aware guys. I had posted about this new Gmail in the SGS3 forum and a mod shut it down because Google does not want it distributed. So get it while you can and keep a copy of the apk handy to share with ppl once they shut it down. PM ftw

To install an app the PlayStore wont let you install do the following (You will need at least one device compaible with the phone)
Install ESFile explorer on the Device with the working App.
Tap On App Manager then Select and HOLD the Application you want.
From the List Select Back-Up
Then Back out back to the first page, and find the Backup folder, and go into it, then into the Apps folder.
Your see the APK backed up.
Then Press and HOLD, and select SHARE.
Share the file to your DropBox
You can then grab the file on your PC and install anyway you see fit.
If you have Unknown sources ticked, you can also then open Dropbox on the Nexus 7, navigate to the folder you shared it to, and install it from there. (Simples)
You could also share the file Via Bluetooth, I have not tested to see if it will let you install the file, but I cant see why not) (Thanks for the idea Gogeta)
I installed and am now using BT Smart talk this way.
Hope this helped someone.
If you find a simpler way please post it.
If I managed to help, please say Thanks.

Good thinking.

If you go to /system/data/apps all installed apps go in there, as far as i know. Is this what your trying to get? That way you can skip the backup and save any space that it takes up.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Or, you could use Quixer to send it straight over to the other device, no matter the distance. I like the Bluetooth idea as well though, that would be the easiest for single, close range sharing.

You should be rooted in order to access internal memory from your phone. Or use adb to pull the apk.
There's also lucky patcher but shouldn't share it in xda.

only - the remedy here didn't work for me.
there WAS some remnants of an old install at /data/data/com.kermidas.TitaniumBackup. i killed it, but no jive.
still - "application not installed."
any other pointers?
i am also have the same problem
all files and folders wich name have words "titanium" or "keramidas" deleted from data\app, data\app-lib, data\data
i leave just a folder with backups on sd
but it don't have effect, still can't install
well, i don't remember what exactly i did to get it to work, but i succeeded. one of these:
- version 7.2.0 worked for me
- update busybox
- delete all the tibu data folders (as you've done).
fyi - i'm on cm12.1.
