Flash Stock Firmware to Xperia M2 D2306 - Sony Xperia M2

Hi,
I've been looking throughout the forum but I couldn't find any way to get my phone (Xperia M2 D2306) back to a state where OTA updates are possible (if it is possible at all).
I flashed the unofficial CM 12.1 version posted here using TWRP, although it mostly works I couldn't use FM Radio and found it quite laggy, so I've decided to revert to the most recent stock version (an FTF file I found using XperiFirm).
My concern is:
Do I need just to wipe everything before using flashtool and also is there any intermediate step I'm missing?
If successful, does the phone allow OTA updates from there on or they'll always have to be applied from the PC?
Thanks.

Relock bootloader with ta keys for ota updates to work Otherwise flash ftf via flashtool

[Q] Root BL M2 from 4.4.4 downgrading just the kernel?

I would love to achieve root without unlocking the BL. Like it is described in this post for the Z1.
The idea would be to flash the FTF for the (stock) JB kernel with Flashtool, apply Easyroot and then flash back the original kernel. At least on the Z1 it seems to work.
I would be willing to try, I just don't know how to get the FTF with the two kernels. Hopefully this shouldn't delete any data either and the root might stick with any future KitKat OTA updates. Does anyone know how to get a copy of the FTF for the D2303 JB and 18.3.1.C.0.21 kernels?

To get FTF for 2303 JB version, please look at the forum, maybe someone has posting FTF files for 4.3 android version.
For 18.3.1.C.0.21 kernel, you can obtain that from FTF 18.3.1.C.0.21, but only flash kernel. Don't wipe data and exlude anything except Kernel in flashtool while flashing.
Maybe you should try XperiFirm for download FTF files.

Ok, thanks. But all JB links I've found are dead. Still is it actually possible with Flashtool to just flash the kernel(s) from the whole ROM without wiping anything? That would be great.
My issue right now is that I can't find any active link to the JB ROM. Also I nearly finished my monthly Internet traffic quota already. And I don't have a Windows PC either (I use OSX). So if anyone with the ROMs and the right skills could make the kernel only FTFs I would really appreciate it.

Actually i have found one 4.3 FTF firmware. It's for D2303 and i have flashed only jb kernel on 4.4.2 but it's not working. After Sony logo, phone only switches on/off so you can't get to bootanimation even. If you have any idea tell me im going to test it. What we need is patched 4.4.2 kernel which we are going to push su file and then flash our original kernel.
Well my model is D2306, and I did the following:
1 - Flash JB ftf, root with towelroot and install SuperSU from playstore (dont update binary)
2- Update through OTA (Update Center) to KK 4.4.2, and then to 4.4.4.
3- Through flashtool, apply root via towelroot again, after reboot, install SuperSU to /system.
And now I'm rooted with locked BL. Try yourself.

Yea, that's working for D2303 too, but is little boring. So everytime when you going to brick your phone while changing build.prop for example or something like that you have to repeat that process and with this idea (just changing the kernles) could be great because it takes less time and it's easier.

So how does it work? After downgrading to 4.3 it gets two OTAs? I think the trick updating with OTAs works because the OTAs must just do an incremental install. Still i can't afford to do it every time, due to my network cap restriction (I know. It feels like living in Neanderthal).

Help! Sony Xperia Z3 Dual (D6633) pre-rooted

Hi all
I have searched for a long time about rooting my device, but i found nothing
I have Sony Xperia Z3 Dual (D6633) with android 5.1.1 build 23.4.A.1.232 and locked bootloader.
So, I need to root it or install a pre-rooted stock firmware without touching the bootloader.
Hi, you need to flash a kitkat rom with flashtool then root with giefroot. (I'm not sure about other rooting methods but this is the safest way IMO.)
After it got rooted, install a recovery so you can flash pre-rooted stock firmware or whatever you want. Remember to backup TA partition.
I had D6633 before and worked perfectly.
I have posted this before but you can go directly to the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/general/guide-rootrecovery-how-to-root-install-t3017056

As far as I know, stock roms with stock kernel don't need bootloader to be unlocked. You need to unlock the bootloader in order to flash custom kernel and aosp stuffs.
tl;dr, if you are not gonna use custom kernel and aosp stuffs your bootloader can remain locked.
Ok, if you want to install moonbreakers, here's what I did when I first bought the device. I never unlock my bootloader.
1. Prepare the tools and root the device using Giefroot. and I recommend you to backup TA partition first just in case.
2.Install dual recovery.
3.Now that you have a working recovery you can flash any stock roms.
here's the guide by G-FACE.
if you want to unlock the bootloader remember to backup TA partition before you do it. If it's lost you can't get it back.

First of all, thanks for your help
Well i'm not professional, I only understand the rooting process.
But I have some questions:
1- can I make a ftf file as a backup from my exist firmware, so when I decide to reverse the whole process and return my device back to its original state, without losing anything?
2- What is the recovery, is that recovery has any disadvantage or negatively affect my device?
3- I didn't find a firmware 23.4.A.1.232 with the same customization version which is 1288-7361_R3C

How to Create a self rooted Firmware for Xperia Z3 with locked BL?

I already know how to flash with the "Sony Mobile Flasher by Androxyde".
I also know how i can get the latest Firmware for my Device with the XperiFirm Downloader.
I also know how i can update/Upgrade with the Sony Mobile Flasher without Data loss.
But i dont know how i can integrate the Root Files in the Firmware which should be flashed.
What i have:
XPERIA Z3 with locked Boot Loader (Running 23.4.A.1.264)
"PC with Sony Mobile Flasher by Androxyde"
What i want:
A flashable Firmware 23.4.A.1.264 with integrated root without unlocking the bootloader.
So how i can integrate this in my Firmware?
Look in the cross device development section for the PRFCreator thread
And FYI, you will never be able to flash a pre-rooted firmware with flashtool, you have to be already rooted with a custom recovery to flash it.

can i flash a d6633 ftf on d6603? temporarily

I had a D6633 device and i just exchanged it with DD6603... i want to flash a prerroted MM rom, the problem is the friend i exchanged it with let it automatically update to MM, so i have to downgraded root and recovery then flash MM prerooted
my question is, it takes sometime to download 1.6 Giga's , and i already had an LP ftf for D6633, obviously network wont work, but is it possible temporarily , flash D6633 root it and recovery, then from recovery flash a D6603 Prerooted rom.
is that possible and wont effect the device?
OK this can be deleted now, download finished , although i might try it as theory sometime...

Do we have non-root Xperia Z3 custom rom?

I am using unlock bootloader Xperia Z3 right now, having rooted custom rom and recovery. Currently I need to have my device become non-rooted for testing applications. I can flash FTF but my device will lost recovery and it would be tedious to flash recovery and rom again.
I tried to find any non-root rom but can't find yet. Or do I need to flash FTF to have non-root rom?

If you are not rooted you are stuck with official stock roms only. Just flash a FTF.
However, this will not lock your bootloader, you will have to restore your TA partition to do this or use flashtool.
