Hello everybody,
my first post here, so please be patient. I'd appreciate, if somebody could show me the proper thread to post, so far I only found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/development/rom-cyanogenmod-12-moto-x-t2995381 but I'm not allowed to post there.
I'm using CM12.1 by SNAPSHOT release ( https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=ghost&type=snapshot ) for 3 days now. No problems of any kind with the ROM itself, everything works flawlessly. My XT1052 was rooted before already by it's previous owner.
BUT now some questions came up, since I read a lot about Ambient display/Active display/Moto display and got confused about the differences in wording. So, imho "Active display" was the 4.4 feature, which was simply perfect (unfortunately I smashed the display and bought a used, rooted MOTO X with Android 5.1), "Moto display" the 5.1 feature and still good, and now "Ambient display" wants to be the successor (for any model). Am I right here? However, it's hard to believe that. I activated it in the CM12 settings (like everything, under "Gestures" I activated "Ambient display", "Pick-up", "Hand wave"). So far I can't really say the result satisfies me in any way. After reception of a notification Ambient display activates a coouple of times, so far so good. Hand waving doesn't work, activating it by picking it up doesn't work. I have no possibility to activate it intentionally. So what's that for then? Is that a bug or normal behaviour? A websearch gave me contradictory results, maybe someone can clarify that for me.

Alright I am very new to ROMs and Android phones in general (came from iPhone). I just got [ROM]{08/10/2012}TEAM_INSOMNIA PrEsEnTs ARISTODEMOS installed on my SGS3 and its AMAZING!!! But I am having one problem, everytime my phone goes to sleep it closes all my processes and I can't even listen to music anymore.
Is this an issue with the ROM or is this a feature? I'm posting here because I can't ask directly on the actual thread...

Try posting in your devices Q&A forum, that is really the correct place to ask questions like this. There are no post count restrictions posting there.
It's almost impossible to use a stylus with P3110. Is there any kernel, ROM, twek, driver or anything or anyone who tried to fix this annoying thing?

I think you're in the wrong place, buddy. Your thread belongs to Q&A section, not to the Development section.
But, answering your question, I use a stylus without problems; it's a capacitive one. Maybe the problem is your stylus, just saying.

Maybe. I see some tweaks on the Android Development and Hacking forum that improves touchscreen sensitivity. You should check that out and try that one.

For those who use a stulys, what ROM do you have? I can easily tap here and there but it's impossible to draw a line or a curve.
Hi guys, got a pretty wired problem. It happens in Chrome when I'm entering a page, before the for example menu icons is fully loaded, they appear as what I believe is Chinese letters..... Any idea what this is??

It's hard to guess what exact problem you have with which device/ROM/version but based on your previous post in this XDA Assist area I'm guessing you are referring to an LG G2 and, as previously suggested, you should ask your question with all relevant details in the LG G2 Q&A forum at http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/help. That said, unless you have a screenshot or a specific description of what happens under which exact circumstances I'm not sure anybody will be able to advise you.

Maybe. It could be a hardware issue, but me not knowing what the problem is (it was even mentioned that you "don't know why" the phone isn't working), software is more likely.
Which is why it is beneficial to post your problem in the thread mentioned above. I don't know anything about your device, except what I skimmed through on GSMArena. The people in that thread own that device, and have the best-hand user experience as a result. I don't have electrical schematics of every Android known to man filed away (I'm lucky if I have even one). Other than approaching the company, your fellow users are the best chance at getting that information, if it is indeed a hardware issue (and replacement parts are available).
Please be detailed there. Simply saying the phone "doesn't work" isn't constructive, and helps no one, as it suggests a plethora of possibilities.
Not to be cruel, I wasn't expecting a three word reply which effectively condenses the original post. Asking-for/needing/demanding effortless information/solutions, while someone else does the heavy lifting, is not what XDA Assist is all about. It's about pointing people in the right (I like to say best) direction with the information given. I feel I have done that. With an account now, time to get your feet wet.

Hello. I updated the firmware to the latest xiaomi.eu on Android11 and found an issue today while swiping. I checked in service mode, no issues with the touch, however strange issue occurs while swiping from the almost bottom center. Is this a hardware thing?

Works fine for me. Try removing the navigation bar. Or settings 3 button navigation, restart, change to full screen and the restart.

Glad I could help. I don't know why people here frown upon posting UI issues that have work around it. Even the smallest issue on an expensive phone can panic anyone and getting answers fast is what matters.

I agree with you. The EU ROM is released by those guys, so why post issues with their ROM here where they will never see? There is a bug reporting thread for each weeks beta release, so please, search your issue there and if it has not been noted, post it on that thread so they are made aware. Guys,I am a member there. XDA is always my first go to community about phones. I don't see the reason of being pissed about such posts. All topics being discussed here. The issue was resolved in one hour. I don't see the problem. Thanks for your input though.

I don't see the problem here. Have a look at Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra Questions & Answers it has many questions about about EU rom. Maybe these guys should post in there as well and tell them to go to EU site. Unbelievable.

No one is worried about questions and giving help, I have done both in the years I have been here. What some people have a little moan about is some posts are about proper bugs in specific weekly, stable or stock ROMs. The EU ROM is made by the guys in that community, so only posting here is never going to get the bug fixed. Please, if you have a bug, get it added to the official EU community forum too. It may be that your findings will get fixed by doing so but they will never get fixed by just posting here. The more threads on the device, the better the device gets and more info gets back to the users.
