I recently found my old GSG4G laying around and I want to repurpose it as a car GPS unit, but I found the GPS inside of it to be extremely weak.
Is there a hardware or software fix for it?
Thanks,

im sure someone here can help me, i managed to get a cheap dell bt-309 gps unit complete with software from a site on the web for quite cheap. I installed the software with the unit, then bonded with the gps unit which went fine but the software loaded once but when tying to use the gps part it just jams.
Has anyone else experienced such problems with gps on xda 2 bluetooth?
So I was playing with my g2 and noticed it had a fm radio installed so I opened it and low and behold it worked after inserting a headset. This is where my question comes from. It said I had to put in the headset in order to have an antennae... I then remembered a few years back when phones had a little port for an external antenna to boost cell phone reception that worked amazingly. In some cases I could get great reception in places I previously had no bars at all. Are there any accessories that could hook into my phone headset jack and do that now?

The FM radio antenna works through the headphone jack, yes. But the phone antenna doesn't, it's inside the phone and I suspect you'd have to do some hardware modding to be able to do anything like this, sorry.
A standalone cell repeater / booster would work in a fixed location (or even in a car/boat/RV). They are not exactly pocketable though.
Anyone remember those little strips that you'd place behind the battery door, or under the battery? I suppose those never worked... Worth a try maybe?

Did some research on those and found them to be bogus, especially for smart phones of today.

Hi,
So, for a while I believed my sensation's BT was just bad based on other people's comments here, but now I'm beginning to think that it might be Plantronix or certain BT devices. I recently used its BT with my friend's BT speaker and his car's BT without any problem. I even intentionally covered it with my hand to see if the connection dropped, but it didn't. But, when I use my BT headset (plantronix), it drops all the time. I even exchanged the headset to see if I had a defective one, but thd same problem. I'm wondering if it's certain BT profile/tech that's just not compatible. Anyone else have this issue or can shed some light?

Try to change your GPS antenna, My unit came with a cheap antenna, I bought a new one by Amazon: same quality and GPS doesn't work.
Buy a best quality GPS antenna and moreover, update your ROM and MCU with the latest available (official files here: https://yadi.sk/d/umCvHqCDzHccr)
You should fix the issues.

I've been pondering buying a replacement GPS module instead of using the stock one that came with my head unit. What improvements did the new antenna provide for you?

Simply: The new antenna work properly, the old antenna did not!
I think the issue was simply the bad quality of the product, like cold solder, bad cable or poor antenna inside the plastic case. Once I changed the antenna, the GPS get satellites fastly and it fix the position very well. Pay attention while mounting it...I understood that sun, too warm, cable pulled/mashed/spoiled, make the antenna working bad. My antenna is now mounted and totally hidden inside the right pillar, and it works so good as it fix the position almost instantly after power up. Pay a bit more for a better antenna, those selled by "Pumpkin" are excellent and cheaps!

May I ask what antenna you bought to make your GPS instantly lock onto satellites? I bought a new one but it's been more or less the same results, which are very minimal results lol.
Also keep it mounted on my dashboard with a magnetic mount. Do you think that could affect anything with the signal?

Hi all, I'm looking to get this device as a replacement for my Mi 8 which is starting to give me some issues. I was looking at reviews online and saw there may be some Bluetooth connectivity issue with drops outs. Has anyone experienced this? Is this an issue or was it solved? Thanks.

I've used Bluetooth speaker 3 or 4 times for around 2 hours each time (once since I upgraded to Android 10.)
I've not had any issue with Bluetooth personally, but I've only ever connected to the same BT speaker. Obviously I'm not a huge Bluetooth user, so my personal experience will hold less weight than heavier users.

No issues here with headsets, speakers or cars (with/without Android Auto).
SmartWatch,tws no issues...
Left ear bud, Right ear bud, stereo buds, a few different brands of speakers, two cars, Bluetooth controllers and my computer, so far I haven't had any Bluetooth Issues, if I did it was a simple restart that fixed it, but that was a syncing issue with one of my older Bluetooth headphones.
