My boss bought one of these and it rocked, so I purchased one for myself. Highly recommended and at a decent price. This thing sticks to anything and because of the way your can move it around you're able to position it pretty much anywhere it will reach securely.
If anyone knows of some other cool holders like this then post here. I'd like to see some nice quality and functional car smartphone holders. :highfive: :cyclops: :good:
That is a really nice car mount but if you're using a thick highly protective case it either doesn't fit or just barely holds on to the phone. I read an Amazon review that said it did not fit a N4 w/ Otterbox Defender and another Amazon reviewer posted a picture of a N3 with a thicker case that the holder just barely held. If it had longer arms so it could hold thicker cases I'd buy one.

Holds the Note 4 with incipio dual layer case with a little room to spare. Had the previous version for use on my S4 but when switching to the Note 4 I had to upgrade the mount. From reviews I read, people were stating that the OP mount shaked because of the extending arm as well as doesn't fit the Note 4 with any typos case which is why I opted for this mount.
iOttie Easy One Touch vs. Easy One Touch 2
I agree, the iOttie Easy One Touch 2 is a pretty darn good mount, but I have found it to be slightly inferior in design to the original, which I used with my Galaxy Note 2. Why did I change? The sticky gel was wearing off and I liked the extension arm of the new mount. Here's my comparison of the Easy One Touch vs. Easy One Touch 2 based upon fitment with a Galaxy Note 4 which I recently purchased.
EOT: Double feet provide more secure grip of the phone but risk obscuring a port. Some side-to-side adjustment yet less than the EOT2. Curled feet also offer the potential of holding the phone a little more securely. Feet are on an extension that adjusts for length, further benefitting the overall fit and giving stability to button operations without causing ann lever-action of the phone that might cause it to pop free if the buttons are pressed too firmly. Mount is slightly more shallow in depth than EOT2. Cases with a centered kickstand on back might add too much thickness for cased phone to be use. Phone mount has a removable ball plate, which may be replaceable if broken or interchangeable for use with other iOttie bases (not sure, never looked).
EOT2: Single foot provides more side-to-side adjustability but is straight (no curled lip to grip phone's edge) and does not offer any adjustment for length, so some phones that are longish might be a little off-center and seem a little less secure. Claws of mount do seem to hold with sufficient strength that even if phone feels a little loose when pressing a button, the phone stays in the mount. Extension arm has some play in it that may cause additional vibration, but can be shimmed up with some duct tape (I used black Gorilla Tape). The extension arm also introduces more vibration just by the very nature of positioning the phone farther from the base. Stability can be maintained by positioning the phone to rest a corner or edge on the cowl of the intstrument cluster if your vehicle design is such as to facilitate that.
I have used both mounts successfully with a relatively slim-fitting Seidio Surface case on my SGN2 but found my SGN4 in a CellBee Rigid Metal case (thicker with kickstand) would only barely fit in the Easy One Touch 2 and not at all in the more shallow Easy One Touch. That led me to not using the CellBee case, which was fine, given that Best Buy just started carrying the Platinum Series clip/hoster case for the SGN4, that case being the Best Buy twin of the Seidio Surface. My first SGN4 case purchase was the Spiden Neo Hybrid, and it works fine with the Easy One Touch 2.
The Easy One Touch sells for $20, which I think is great so long as it remains available and if you don't need the benefit of the extension arm. If you do and can accept the drawbacks of the Easy One Touch 2, then at $25 it is still quite a nice mount.

ONE OF THE MOST DETAILED POSTS I'VE EVER SEEN HERE :good::good::good::good:
Thanks...brevity is not my forte', for better or worse.
I'm thinking about getting a S6.
I'd like to know if I bought or made my own magnetic car mount, would the magnetics in the mount cause the device shut down?
The reason I ask is because I've made my own from 3 old HDD magnetics and tested it with my HTC One and Samsung Tab Pro 8.4.
The phone isn't effected, but the tablet shuts down (into sleep mode) immediately when a magnet is near.
To be able to use the magnetic car mount, I need to use a case and place a thin piece of metal (tin lid etc) in the case.
The thicker the plate, the better the hold to the magnet (without increasing magnet strength).
Does a case like the "Spigen Neo Hybrid" or TPU cases have generous amounts of "spare room" at the back (for the metal), compared to something like the one of their hard case designs?
Will it flex a little to fit the plate, is what I'm asking.
Thank you.
There are plenty of magnetic mounts sold. I have one that I used on my S4 for the past two years. The metal plates that come with the mounts are so slim that I don't think there's a case made that they couldn't fit in. If you go for a homemade one, though, I doubt it would be so slim and might not fit. The magnet has never affected the function of my phone in the slightest. HDD magnets might be different in some way, but the mount is a STRONG magnet.
Now, as for the S6 - it's got a metal body. It will actually stick to magnets. My mount will hold it, but the back of the phone is so slick that it slides off. If I were to insert one of the metal plates that came with the mount, though, it would interfere with my wireless charging.

Thank you for the info.
This is a compact and really good looking design; I was expecting something much more bulky. With the phone inside, the case is no thicker than my Otterbox Defender (my daily case). The case is obviously made of high quality leather; not cheap, but not Napa leather either. The design is pretty unusual in that it has a TPU case inside, attached to the leather. I like this because it provides good protection - there is more than just leather protecting the phone. There are cutouts for the camera and microphone on the rear, which are well sized and placed, and the case closes by means of a magnetic clasp that is easy to open and close. Part of the rear will fold over, so that the case functions as a stand as well. Everything about the case worked well. The case comes with a carrying strap that can be easily removed if desired.
The interior has a slot for ID and three credit cards. There is a place for money, but it is sized to fit the phone length, and so you will have to fold the bills to fit - I don't think you could carry a "wad" of bills there, but it is OK for light use. The TPU case has cutouts at all the right places, and all buttons worked fine.
The only quality question I have is the TPU attachment to the case. It is not sewn in; I suppose it must be glued to the case. It seems sturdy enough, but if there is a weak link in the design, this is it. However, I suspect that if the glue did come off, it could be re-glued again, and in any case with the phone inside the case it won't ever flex at this spot.
The case is a bit pricy, but in my opinion if you want this sort of design, this is a great choice. When I need a more formal case, this is the one I will use.

good review
I was provided this item for an unbiased review.
Amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/Koomus-Magnet...4270199&sr=8-3&keywords=koomus+magnetic+mount
My setup: Nexus 6P with Slickwraps CF skin and Poetic Affinity Case, all with the metal plate sandwiched in the middle.
Pros:
- includes TWO thin metal plates
- superb build quality: adjustable ball joint is nice and stiff; nothing feels lose or sloppy
- strong magnetism: able to hold our sizable phone; hasn't fallen off from road bumps since first use, two weeks ago
- the rubber material on the mount is nice and grippy (high coefficient of friction)
- extremely stable when mounted
- prongs that attach to the air vents are very tight: no need to "leverage" the phone off the mount. I can pull completely perpendicular to the mount and the prongs won't budge
- sits relatively flush (close) to the dash, but sits just far enough that I can reach the buttons behind the phone (my "hazaard" button is right behind the mounted phone)
Cons:
- the rubber surface of the mount attracts dust
Other thoughts:
- metal plates dimensions: 4.5 x 6.5 cm
- including two plates is very convenient if you share a vehicle and both drivers want to use the same mount
- only the black plate is adhesive, while the red plate is a bare piece of metal.
- having compared this to the Koomus Pro Magnetic mount, this one is significantly less strong, but still sufficient. Also comparably cheaper.
Would I buy it again: Absolutely. At $17, this mount offers quality and functionality in a very well built product. It's actually earned its way to become the mount I use everyday in my car. That says a lot, considering I've had about 5 different mounts.
