OK,
First of all it seems you are my last hope. Yes i know there are similar posts, yes i know that i m making another one (i m sorry for that), yes i belive that i have exhausted options from those posts.
i used sp flash tool with format all + download option (yes i did not had idea that it would cause that much trouble). I have much snail 78P01 phone. As everyone is expecting , no imei, no baseband.
Phone is rooted (of course), things that i tried and they did not worked (becouse file pttycmd1 will be deleted everytime after reboot - maybe someone can explain):
1. mtkdroid tools (dont see band, imei is null) after i try change imei, there in log i can see that pttycmd1 could not be found (which is true, if i use root rexplorer its not anywhere near where it should be).
2. echo 'AT+....1,7,"IMEI..." > /dev/ptt... - yes its there (and mtk droid tool can confirm that , becouse its not giving you error, but thats all...)
3. *#*#3646633#*#* , .... AT+.... i will get error with sending command (yes i tried it as someone suggested with space, )
4. creating your own imei file MP0B_001 and placing it to /data/nvram/md/NVRAM/NVD_IMEI/ (btw my md folder is blank , there is nothing there)
5. downloading and flashing nvram (hope so that is nvram) "All Mtk BPLGU Modem files for Imei change.rar"
6. maybe something that i have forgot
btw:cpu mt 6592
I should be sleeping for like 4 hours now, but i m not, working (googling) on this like 10 hours straight. Any advice would be most welcomed.

So i received my phone, yesterday and all its ok, but i didnt know cause IM A NOOB that the GPS on almost all the mtk processors doesnt work, so the first thing done was roote it, then install some programs, in one of those as i work as a deliver man (Im from Mexico) i use Google Maps, the problem is, my gps doesnt work, i have tried a lot of things and none work, i want to re flash my smartphone so it can be like "new" again and look for an answer, but the methods i found didnt work :crying: :crying: and i dont know how to flash stock rom and make the gps work. every time i hard reset it starts rooted and i wanted to copy some files (EPO) to my /system/misc from my sd card it says
Copy Failed
EPO.DAT to data/misc
What can i do please i just want to copy paste on some root explorer and use my GPS :crying:

thank you very much i have done it now

A while back i decided to downgrade my stock 4.3 to 4.1.1 in order to try to unlock it from carrier... the thing is i lost my IMEI and Serial Number
The good news is i have a backup of my EFS folder (only copy-paste with "root explorer" app though... no ".img" file sadly), but I understood that the most important file is "nv_data.bin"
So... my problem seems to be like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/help/successful-imei-repair-i9300-backup-t2544109
but only the last step (put back the nv_data.bin, delete backups of bad nv_data.bin, reboot and magic)
The sad part: it doesn't resolve anything because everytime I reboot the phone it recreates the "nv_data.bin" even if I restore the original one (the one i had before downgrading)
Can anyone help me please  ?
I have also tried as seen in other posts to change it's owner into radio:1001, unfortunately it still recreates the file after reboot.
I am currently trying to go back on 4.3 to try to restore the nv_data.bin on that verison (but i don't think it has anything to do with the android version)
Anyone encountered this problem or knows a solution ? Thank you !
Hi,
I see you've already asked about this in the appropriate section for your device. Xda Assist is here to help navigate the site, not for support.... And you found your way already. ?

Hello,
I am contacting you to see if someone can help me.
I have a Chinese phone. It is a Guophone i9600, MT6589 CPU quad core 1.2 GHz with 1 GB RAM.
This week it began to continuously display messages “memory full” and it told me to uninstall applications. I looked in settings options and it really showed internal memory was fully occupied ... when it wasn't true. There aren’t no applications installed nor data (including whatsapp app).
I restored the phone to factory defaults and it worked well. Now there was a lot of internal free space. After this, I installed lnk2sd app and I started uninstall applications that came with me smartphone ... but the phone has been bricked.
When I turn it on, it hangs in the original logo GUOPHONE. I don’t have any backup.
My laptop doesn’t recognize it. I have downloaded MT65xx drivers and when I try to connect the smartphone, it tells me not receive reply from the peer (I guess it will be smartphone). Therefore, I can’t use all that solutions that need to connect mi smartphone to my laptop (flash tool, CWM, TWRP, ROM manager ...). I think the only solution is to load a ROM file in ZIP format from the factory recovery menu.
I searched ROMS and I only found one in needrom.com (for Guophone I9602 (I guess you can be the same as mine, i9600)). I've downloaded it from a web page link and a mirror link, and one is a single file with img extension and the other one is a .rar. I have unzipped it and it has a few files with extension tar and img. I've tried everything, zip them, unzip them, renamed file extension... and nothing have worked.
I have also tried to generate a zip with the two img file (I think they're called recovery and boot) as someone said in some websites and it didn’t work. They said I have to include a META_INF folder, but I have no idea where to get it.
I have even located the manufacturer's website, I sent them an e-mail to ask them smartphone`s ROM zip file and they didn’t reply me.
One more thing, I bought two identical phones, one for a friend and one for us. Is there any way to get from me friend’s smartphone a file from ROM ZIP file to use it in our smatphone from recovery menu?
From my friend's phone I have downloaded (in "backup user data" option from original recovery menu) a file with backup extension. But when I try to restore it in me phone, it shows me a checksum error.
Thanks in advance. Excuse my poor English, please.
Best regards.
Hi,
I can't find anything relevant on XDA for your device, so asking here is your best option,
> Android Development and Hacking > Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Also, I would not attempt to flash anything not designed for your exact make and model number. Or that could be the end of your device.
Good luck!
Thank a lot, Dart.
Hello everyone
Well they say you should not mess with thing you do not perfectly know about exactlt same thing happen to me. Well i have Mediatek device MTK6582 running kitkat v4.4.2, i was trying to root it but to no avail. So finally i read a post here about how every phone can b formated by installing CWM/TWRP recovery and then installing the SU binary using custom recovery installed. Ok i followed this method.
1) Made a backup using MTK droid tools of following locations (i still have that backup).
a)PRELOADER
b)MBR
c)EBR1
d)BOOTIMG
e)SEC_RO
f)LOGO
g)EBR2
h)ANDROID
2)Created ROM file.
3)Processed the ROM file for sp flash tool.
4)While processing the ROM file MTK droid tools was unable to make a CWM recovery file.
5)I do not know why but i formatted my recovery partition using sp droid tool.
6)When i tried to put recovery backup to its place sp flash tool would not do that.
So i left my phone as is it for sometime untill i ran out of space and no more apps could be installed. So i decided to format the USRDATA block. This is where things went really bad. I guess in sp flash tools i did not write the correct end, adress i wrote the size of that block it was 0051400000 on MTK droid tools :crying:, iguess i should have wrote the starting adress of next block. After format my phone would not start. It was stuck on manufacturer's logo.So on a different PC i downloaded all the stuff i mean drivers sp flash tools MTK droid tools etc. And tried installing my phones recovery, and this time it was installed perfectly.I went into my recovery wiped all user data and phone started normally untill i realised that no network was there and a "No SIM card" notification was there. So i did a factory reset thinking maybe it would help. But again phone was stuck on manufacturer's logo. And this time i would not even enter the recovery (it would show as if it is entering recovery i mean the animation stuff that shows when it enters in the recovery and then the phone would restart and stuck again). So i reinstalled the complete backup of all blocks that i have mentioned above. And phone switched on successfully. But again no "SIM card detected".
So i googled, and in Last 24 hours i tried everything i could find there (alright maybe not everything but most of "everything".And i also have a successfully rooted my phone.
Here are my observations
1) When i connect my phone with MTK droid tools it shows no IMEI.
2) MTK droid tools also shows no baseband.
3) Settings>About phone>Status>IMEI information shows No IMEI for both SIM cards.
4)In factory mode where there are all the tests and stuff shows the actual IMEI's of my device But no SIM card.(Note: No IMEI in settings).
5)In ES file explorer data/nvram shows a lot of files and folders its not empty.
Here is what i have already tried.
1) Tried restoring IMEI using MTK droid tools.
2) Making new MP0B_001 using imei.exe
3)Installing my backup for second time.
Right now i am do not know what to do next.Any help i would gretly appreciate.Sorry for long post when i wanted to clear so that you can suggest something. Thanks

Actually I am new here so don't know how things work around here.I looked and found this to be the most suitable place to post my question.
But now know where to post my question so I'll go there.:good:
I got this phone (Lenovo A606) about a month ago with the following problems:
1) Modem (the one with the SIM card) doesn't work, status in the about section shows "invalid IMEI" and "unknown baseband". SIM card settings are greyed out in the settings.
2) Wi-fi works fine, but i always have an additional SSID in wifi menu that says 0x010 something error
According to previous owner, it went bad after bad flash or update, but he might have been lying and modem is physically dead due to some reason.
3) Serial number is also a blank
So far i've tried:
1) Flashing different stock firmwares with full flash format and DA DL flags checked/unchecked in SP Flash tool
2) Fixing nvram/trying to restore IMEI and SN through numerous tools of different versions: Maui Meta 3g, SN Writer tool, SN Station Writer tool, infinity box CM2MTK, etc - every one of tools that i've tried (i've also tried different versions of the same tools) show me different errors, best solutions online for which are "check your drivers, change usb cable or change computer" all of which i've obviously tried with the exact same result
3) Fixing nvram by deleting nvram folder in /dev/nvram
4) Replacing MP0B_001 in the nvram folder (rather putting it in, the target folder is empty after stock flashing)
5) Using nvram fixes through both custom and stock recovery menus prepared by the poor bastards like me, but with more knowledge about this stuff
6) Flashing nvram from a donor working phone through SP Flash tool
And since i'm making this post nothing of the above has worked.
So far i've came up with two possibilities:
1) The modem is physically dead and i lost in total 72 hours of my life on a goose chase. If this case is true, how can I make sure of it? Is there a low-level recovery menu or a factory mode that can confirm/deny it?
2) I'm doing something wrong and there is a simple fix for it. In this case, I ask for help guide me in the right direction, if possible with exact instructions.

Greetings and welcome to assist. Changing IMEI numbers is illegal and can not be discussed on xda so we have to be careful. If you have the original IMEI number it may be possible to restore it with an octoplus box or something similar but we are limited to what can be discussed on xda

Never tried to change it, since there wasn't any imei in the firmware to begin with. I only fruitlessly trying to return sim functionality
