need information where to start learn android or guidance

Hallo everybody,
Im noob, and i wanna learn about android. I don't have background as programer. I just like this stuff and wanna be able to create my own ROM and hopefully i can involve in the development of android. Now i just know little bit about android. I still confuse with some term in android. I can understand the definition, but I confuse with like recovery and backups which i think like duplication.
Does anyone know where can i start and where? I really appreciate your suggestions.
As a start now i have Samsung galaxy s ready to flash.. (Sorry if the term wrong)
Can anyone help me with information? please
thanks

[Q] How do I make my own ROM completely from ASOP?

Hey
Id like to (also as a learning expirence) to make my own ROM completely from ASOP.
Is there a simple guide or something similar? Ive read the Android source code site but its a bit to "stretched out". A noob guide would be nice.
Thanks.

A standard link would have been nice....

The problem with this guide is that its based on a specific device. A global generic one would be nice.
Thanks for the link anyways.

[Q] Newbie to rooting/custom roms.

I love my inspire but there is so much bloat on it. I need an easy to follow root tutorial as well as the best custom Rom that can help me get full performance out of this amazing device. Thanks in advance.

You need to spend time reading through the stickies in the Development, General and Q&A sections, all the info you need is there. Choose your own ROM after you've done your research. Once you've educated yourself you'll be fully equipped to take care of whatever you want to do to your device.

Request - Rom creation guides

Hello,
I am new to programming for android, but I am a programmer by trade so I have a basic knowledge of programming and code.
I was wondering if there are any guides / help / tutorials for creating custom roms? I am not looking for someone to post everything and do the work for me, but I would appreciate any help that someone could give me. Even if you can just point me in a good direction I would really appreciate it.
I have a simple guide in my signature titled noobs guide to theming and porting ROMs.

To start, you do what OEMS do also. Download source from Google, then tweak the living hell outta it.
You know how to read code? Start changing it around and seeing what happens. Then build off it. Compile and learn from the errors it craps out. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Then i'd recommend two things:
First, familiarize yourself with android, android terminology, important stuff like root, ROM, flash, fastboot....
This link is a great guide for you...
Second, if you have a phone or any device that has android OS, subscribe to it's forum and learn everything there is about it...
For example, i own the Samsung Galaxy S2, so i subscribed to the forum, follow tutorials and guides to tweak my phone and mod it, i rooted it, i flashed a custom ROM and Kernel, also different bootloader and modem (if you can't understand what are these, the first link will provide all the information you need).
You'll always have support from XDA...keep up the excitement to learn!! Have a nice day
