I'm going on a well educated guess that the EM756 is a very unpopular tablet, but I have a hard time believing that it's so unpopular that NO ONE has attempted rooting it.
Going on that hope (what little is left), let me explain why I'm having such a hard time.
I updated the tablet to the latest Android version. Somehow in doing so, it deleted all my accounts. I am unable to add a new one at all as I get the error "Unable to establish reliable connection". Rebooting my router and the device didn't work, nor did switching to another network. I have tried various workarounds and trick to work past it, but without having a google account to sign in with, the tablet is pretty useless as an account is needed to access things like the play store.
I finally read somewhere that there is a line of code I need to delete to get past the error or something to that effect, but to do it I need to root the tablet.
Every "One Click" tool I have used has failed (I've tried about 9 so far I think). The closest I got was using this guide on the forums here. My issue with that one is the programs provided don't see my device even after switching from MTP to PTP (At which point my computer doesn't recognize the device anyway)
I have spent a combined time of 16 hours trying to do this to no avail.... Any help would be nice by this point.
Bump.

Hi
Thanks for using XDA Assist.
I believe kingroot works on the EM756 > Android Development and Hacking > Android Apps and Games > [ROOT ANDROID][2.x-5.1] KINGROOT: The One-Click Root Tool for Almost All Devices . I noticed another user in that thread got it to work.
Good luck

I initially bricked my phone when I took an OTA update by accident while the phone was rooted. When I got the new phone I decided to let it update first and then try to root it but now the Gingerbreak/ZergRush method doesn't seem to work. It never reports that it failed but doesn't say success either, just the "Blue Hellions" thing. The script fails at the "adb remount" saying that the operation isn't permitted.
I've tried a few other methods but have had zero luck with them but most of them used ZR so I didn't expect a lot.
Since they don't seem to have a recovery image for this phone, there's not a lot I can do.
I'll take any ideas and upload logcat, etc.to help out (if I can...it seems to be about 100k which was double the allowed size for the last forum I asked this on)
Any and all help appreciated.

I just got my phone from Ting a couple weeks ago and rooted it yesterday.
Unfortunately I can't directly post Outside links (Not at 10 posts yet, and have no idea what else to post about other than this at the moment, which requires a link (For Credit Due Purposes) and I know it will be helpful to people that were as desperate as me for something that was starting to seem rather impossible and no one was paying that much attention to it.), but this is important enough that I'll try to just chop it up - You'll just have to put it back together to go to that site.
This works:
androidforums
.com/milano-all-things
-root/709963-no
-pc-root-method
.html
Not sure why the guide says "Enable usb debugging in Settings, Applications, Development" since you never use the PC, I enabled it anyway, and also enabled to install third party apps, or else Poot won't install, not sure why that isn't on the guide. (Maybe they got mixed up?)
A few things you might want to know:
After hours I finally found the solution. But the terminal still doesn't work for uninstalling ("pm uninstall com.google.android.books.apk" = Failure), you have to do everything though your phone (I'm using the app "RootAppDelete"). The phone roots itself with a third party app called "Poot" using libraries from "Ministro 2"
Before doing this you're gonna need something like 25MBs of storage or so (Can delete everything afterwards with the exception of SuperUser (Can't delete that) to get the space back (Also, you need a app to actually use root actions). - The "Ministro 2" packages are huge for this phone's tiny internal storage! 11MB around)
Make sure to install anything small first and anything big right before the phone gets over 15MB full, because at that time you can't install anything else, with low memory errors.
Another thing that might have helped me when I did this is - back when I couldn't root I made all apps default install to the phone with the android sdk platform-tools (I didn't want to risk anything so I moved Poot, Ministro 2 and SuperUser back to the phone before running Poot. since they default installed to the SD)
"adb shell"
"pm SetInstallLocation 2"
Know its been said elsewhere, but this works with the Milano. Wanted to say that in case you needed the space to use Poot.
And the last problem is after I did all this, now my headphone jack wants to think it has headphones plugged in all the time, If I move the phone around it starts playing on the phone's speaker. It seems like something is lose. Not sure if that was caused by the root (since it wasn't doing it before, and I've never used the headphone jack before) or because there was lose hardware, not sure. Still working on a solution to that, which I found
something similar here, almost looks like a common problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=817872
I would put my proof of doing this have a screen shot of root checker, but alas its an outside link. Understand though.
And as I've read a million times before this, here's a disclaimer: I'm not responsible and use at your own risk.
Hey guys!
First off, i was searching through loads of forums and attempted different solutions. Anything to get it back working. This only made it worse
What happened was as follows:
After having CM 10.1 or some version of it (had the OS at 4.3 i believe), my phone was very slow, so slow in fact that i got so mad at it that i almost bit through it. So one day when i was in a tent at the foot of a mountain all alone (not that long ago) i decided to rollback the phone to its original state from backup i made some months ago before i upgraded the OS. At the same time just before this i backed up the current build just in case. Using ClockWorkMod 3pointsomething.
It went through everything and then asked me: Do you want to root this device? (or something in those lines). I, having no clue, clicked one of the million "no" on the screen.
After this it rebooted with errors saying "Can't detect this drive can't detect that drive". In other words, it couldn't detect niether Internal SD nor External SD. While having the Samsung logo being displayed without booting if i didn't go into "Volume Up, Menu Key and Start your tiny engines!".
I thought i could fix it and looked through tremendous amount of internets in attempt to fix it. Neither Odin nor Heimdall Frontend could detect the device even after installing the drivers and samsung kies and messing about with those two in between.
After a while i ended up with "Phone . . ! in a orange triangle . . PC" aka black screen of death, while the phone can go into download mode. Which in my hand is equally useless as no program can detect it still.
Now i just decided to start a new thread even though there is endless amount of other threads but none seem to cover exactly this as i haven't yet managed to fix it. Plus a response on progress is always pleasant as i personally don't know when i succeed unless phone works fully again.
How bad off am i?
Any input will be greatly appreciated! :victory:
Hoping not to have to spend money on a new one and as far as i've gathered this can be solved - Anybody can give me some tips on where to look or what i could try?

First you are posting in the wrong location as i9000 has its own forum here for Q&A and others too
second click on My Android Solutions (link below) and try methods to fix USB connection problems first after that get into download mode and use a rescue kit from MY Android Collections (link below) or follow this to flash a Gingerbread JVU stock ROM
Check this out! You , YES! you are an " Android ". Not your phone but U.
Hey guys, let me just start off by saying I have spent almost 8 hours straight today trying to figure this out and dig myself out of a hole I've created for myself, that being said, I'm going to try and be as detailed as possible so you guys know EXACTLY where I am and what I've tried. This post looks long but that's because it is. It's pretty much my entire day's worth of trouble typed out. So just bare with me and see if you guys can help me out here!
I have a T-Mobile Galaxy S4 model: SGH-M919 it has Android 4.4.2. Now on to the problem: I've had this phone for almost a year now and a few months ago I rooted it. Did a simple Youtube tutorial and used Odin to do the work and everything worked out fine. A couple months down the road (yesterday), after using the phone like a teenager, downloading apps and cluttering it up it started to slow down and not run some apps. After thinking about it I decided to factory reset it. All of my contacts, photos, and videos were backed up on Google so I thought "why not?" Well, this is where $#!% hit the fan.. being rooted then factory reset, right before the phone came online it had me answer two questions about the root. Something to the effect of "Do you want to keep root? (This option is not reversible)" I thought since I wasn't using the features I originally rooted the phone for I figured nah just get rid of the root. So the phone did its T-Mobile boot up and started the Initial setup.
Everything up to to this point was fine until I wanted to log in to my Google account during the setup. Please understand that where I am I have full 4G LTE coverage and have access to a pretty fast and sturdy wifi connection. Well, when it came to the google sign in I entered my email and password and it came up with a message reading "Can't Sign in - Can't establish a reliable connection to the server" (believe me i wish that was the only issue) so after reading that, I thought I'd try with my wifi.. nope. Same thing. Since neither my 4g or wifi worked I thought it was Google's servers so I tried again this morning, same thing. (keep in mind at this point i think my phone isn't rooted anymore.) I call the t mobile store and they give me a technical support number, so I call it and I tell them i cant sign into Google. The gentleman told me he cant do anything because he can tell my phones been rooted. Only thing he suggests is to contact Google, well, the customer care number just tells you go to google.com/support and there's nothing there about my problem.
This is where I dig my hole even deeper. I tried another factory reset and up in the top left corner i still see that root text. Even the rooted android symbol pops up before the Samsung logo or t mobile. Since I saw that I thought "ohh it just didn't get unrooted all the way." I look up ways to completely remove a root and a lot of them require plugin your phone into the computer and using Odin to flash a stock firmware on to the device. I went to plug my phone into the usb port but my computer didn't recognize the usb device, having experienced this a long time ago I searched around for the latest Samsung usb drivers and I installed those. Device still isn't recognized. Let me just note before people tell me to use MTP mode or Developer tools> usb debugging or connection mode.. The only thing that happens when plugging my phone via usb is the phone starts charging and my computer makes the trumpet noise like something is plugged in. Other than that, there is NO notification of it being plugged in. The reason i stress this is because I called Samsung technical support at this point and the guy (not gentleman) treated me like a 5 year old and ran me through all of these options after i told him I already did everything he was suggesting, including downloading Samsung Kies 3 and having it install the drivers. It does not pick up the device either.. at this point I looked up ways to remove the root without the computer. I found out you can just go into the root app "SU" or something and theres a remove root option. I jumped on that opportunity and had it removed. I restarted the phone and all the problems still persist, it even still has the root text on the top left when you factory reset it again. However now, even if you factory reset and select the option "keep root," thinking it would bring back the"SU" app it does NOT.
So lets recap. I have a phone that thinks its rooted and even appears rooted to t mobile but doesn't have any of the root apps or privileges or capabilities to fix my Google log in issue (like the host file in filemanager). And I can't re-root to get that app back because none of my 3 usb ports, 3 different usb cables (one being the cord that came with the phone), or any of the ports/cables on someone else's computer will recognize the darn thing to work on that way! I have all these issues that are supposed to fix each other but I can't do any fixing because they cancel each other out too... I'm at a dead end.
In case this isn't the right forum/website/thread/post area etc.. I have this whole message saved in Microsoft Word document so I can repost it anywhere you guys might suggest better results. Any help/advice will be much appreciated.
My problem is slightly getting me desperate at this moment. but I do know there must be a way to fix it.
I have an LG G3 D855 phone. Runs on Android 5.0. I have rooted it a couple of months ago, had no issues with it, but in the last few days my phone ceased connecting to the Google Play store. Mainly all the Google Play services are inactive because the phone couldn't connect with my Google account. It kept asking me to Retry, but with no success.
While still rooted I took notice of a method that could've been the solution to this problem - edit the hosts file with a text editor by placing a # in front of the 2nd row of numbers, although the example number given as an instance wasn't matching the form of the number written in the hosts file on the 2nd row. I tried placing it on both rows, each at a time, but with no success as for some reason the hosts file would not change despite saving and exiting. The hosts file is as it was before at the moment, I suppose, with no modification.
My last choice was to factory reset my phone. Which I did. But the problem was still there - ''Can't establish a reliable connection to the server.'' it says this time around. I figured that upgrading the firmware of the phone would fix things, so I went in the SuperSU app settings and tapped 'Full unroot'. It would take forever the first time, so I restarted my phone and the 2nd time it seemed to have worked - the SuperSU app would stop working each time I tried accessing it. I rebooted my phone and the SuperSU was no longer there. However when I tried upgrading the software of my phone it wouldn't let me as my phone is suspected of having been rooted. I read on the internet that there is a more manual way of unrooting your phone by using a root explorer app and deleting some files yourself.
Here's the catch - at the moment I have no internet browser on my phone nor access to the store to download any apps whatsoever. So I'm stuck like this.
I'd appreciate it tons and worlds if any of you could guide me on what to do. A last method would be to flash the phones ROM again or something like that. Keep in mind that I've been an Android user since March and this phone is my first Android phone. I don't have all that much experience, so detailed explanations are really welcome!
Thanks for the help in advance!

Good Luck!
Hello there,
First of all i have to warn you that i am a kind of a complete newbie about most things you are talking about in this forum. So please, be indulgent.
Also, i'm french, so english is not my mother tongue but, i'll do my best, i promise
I have knowledge in computing but not very much on tablets, phones, etc...
Here's what have happened to me.
Some months ago, i was looking at my tablet (Nvidia shield K1) when suddently it litteraly comes alive without me doing anything.
As i've some computing knowledge it was obvious that someone else was controling the tablet.
So i swith it off using the turn off button. Then i swith off all my network (router and modem), switch back on the tablet and disconnected it from the network. Then i turn back on the network.
The tablet was not anymore linked to the network.
So i start searching trying to figure out what was the problem.
But, as i said my knowledge with these devices is not very good.
This is were my memories are not really accurate as this happened to me a few months ago.
I first decide to ask some help to some people with a much better knowlegde than mine. I gave them the tablet but, they gave it back to me saying that there was no problem. They even upgraded the OS from Android 6 to Android 8 by downloading the update.
So i thought my problems were over but, in fact, they were not.
When i get back my tablet i tried to go again on the internet and didn't succed.
Once i have entered the password for my network, the network appears to be registred but i can't log on it..
So i started to search again for the cause of the problem, after a few hours, i found on the SD card 2 files that weren't here the last time i took a look.
These two files were named :
- Cryptokey
- Systemcrypto
Can't remember their extension....
So, from this point, i knew the solution of the problem was out of my reach as there was probably somewhere inside the tablet some corrupted datas.
This is where i definitely made a big mistake.
First i made a hard reset of the tablet with no results.
Second i have formated the SD card where two files were saved...
Now, i own a tablet with which i can't connect to the internet at home. But, i m quite sure that if i want to connect to another network than mine, it will work. As the guy to whom i asked help first succed to connect to his network and do the update to Android 8.
So, if anyone has an idea of what could i have to do to get back a working tablet, i would appreciate.
Many thanks for reading.
Have a nice day.
Listen I’m not like really good when it come to hacking or anything but I do know that in order to hack android you either need to A, be tricked somehow into downloading and installing some malicious apk or B, someone needs to have physical possession of your device for a short time. Anyone who knows more please correct me if I’m wrong. I think some of those apps for hacking android can survive a factory reset also. But your problem sounds different than just that. It won’t connect to a WiFi network? Try a different network is what I would think to do first.
Hi
I also dont think your device got hacked like @messymatthew already told either you need to install a malicious apk yourself or someone did it with physical access.
But your main problem atm is that you cant connect to your wifi at home which leads me to the question which android 8 rom you have installed right now ?
Or is it the last official oem 5.4 rom which is android 7. In this case its maybe a problem with the PMF function of your Router.
If thats not the case you have two options:
You install the factory recovery image you can find here :
Tablet Recovery images
For this you need to download the right image for your tablet (LTE, K1)
Then follow this instructions :
Instructions - Adb needed
Or you install a Custom Recovery like TWRP you find here :
TWRP - Custom Recovery - Adb and OEM Unlock needed
After this you can install a custom recovery like LineageOS.
Maybe you interested in my unofficial version of the last official 15.1 (android 8.1) which should fit your needs if you want use it as a normal Tablet with monthly security updates.
Scavenger87 - Unofficial LineageOS 15.1
Hello,
Sorry for late reply.
Many thanks to both of you.
EDIT : Forgot to tell you that you are right, my tablet works with Android 7 not 8.
I have tried to connect straight to my modem (so not runnig through my router) and i succeed.
So it seems you are right there is a problem with my new router ASUS GT-AX 11000.
I'm gonna try the solution you are suggesting to me and will keep you posted.
Hello,
@Scavenger87 Many thanks for the help you provide.
You were right, it was the PMF function settings that were blocking my tablet to join the network.
Now, everything is working smoothly
Wish you a very nice day.
