It was removed. The function is now served by Smart Lock in Android which you can find in Lock screen and security in Settings.

I have set up the auto unlock feature in GM to unlock my phone when the Gear 2 is within proximity but it's not working. It worked the first time I set it up but now my note 4 just stays locked with the lock pattern. Anyone else?
UPDATE: Uninstalling and reinstalling gear manager from Samsung app store did the trick. I did allow Gear Manager to reset the watch as well so I'm not sure if that made a difference also.
Some of the toggles Don't work from the lock screen. For example, the flashlight toggle does work but the WiFi, Bluetooth, and NFC toggles only work if I unlock the phone. It's pointless to have those toggles appear in the pull down shade if they don't work.
Is this how all Galaxy models work? This is my first Samsung Android phone so pardon the question is this is obvious to others.

This is a Good Thing. It's a LOCK screen. Anything that changes the device SHOULD be locked out until you get past the lock screen (and whatever security you have in place.)

I asked because this is the first Android device I've had that behaves this way. My Nexus and Sony devices allow toggling those functions from the lock screen. While I appreciate your opinion I'm interested to know if this is a Samsung feature and if there's a way to change it.

This is also the first I've had that does this - including a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 (still on lollipop.) It always annoyed me that I had my screen locked with a fingerprint, but anyone could toggle wifi, bluetooth, NFC, and all kinds of other things that impact functionality when my device is supposed to be locked.
This might be something in android 6, or it might be something Samsung is doing for android 6. (I don't have another device with MM, so I can't answer that.)
Edit: one interesting thing is that you CAN turn off wifi, etc from the lock screen pull down IF you don't have a secure lock screen (or if the lock screen is bypassed via smart lock.)

Maybe that's it, I use the fingerprint lock. I am able to work around it by using PowerToggles but it seems redundant to add toggles to a lock screen that already has toggles. Oh well, at least I can do it.
For my work I am constantly turning flight mode on and off, prior to OS update last night, I could toggle flight mode while screen locked. Now when I toggle it on or off, it asks for my finger print/ code, which is very annoying, as I don't want to unlock phone, and I have to re-lock it, even more annoying. Why the change? And how do I get it back to toggle it while locked?
Sorry to reopen this but there is any solution to this?On my wife´s s6 edge plus with latest android 7.0 can on/off toggles without asking about fingerprint/code...

If you are rooted, you can edit the toggles with something like GravityBox (be warned though, Samsung devices don't like when certain SystemUI items are removed or blocked). For some reason, you HAVE to have a minimum number of toggles on 6.0 Samsung phones. You can't remove all of them, but you can change the order in which they appear. I can confirm I can toggle WiFi and etc from my lock screen as well. Though I don't really have an issue with it as I rarely keep anything worth something to me or anyone else on my devices. I don't even have bank accounts or credit cards linked to any device so this really doesn't bother me. I figure if you can lock and or erase your device remotely, if it goes missing, that's good enough for me.
the setting you are looking for is on my S8 in Settings / secure lock settings / lock Network ans security
this allows you to either enable or disable flight mode on the lockscreen
I forgot my password
To recover my password, I have a Samsung account and a Google Account, but I can not connect to Wi-Fi or Data.
Every time I try to turn on Wi-Fi or data, Samsung asks for my password.
How can I turn on Wi-Fi or my data?

Is Whitepages still installed but hidden or turned off like the prior AT&T versions? If so is there anyway to turn it back on? I know the same application can be downloaded but it's not integrated into the phone so you are forced to use there dialer and messager. I know on prior versions if you could access the screen to turn it on it would work. This would be done by using a app like QuickShortCut and making a shortcut to the screen to turn on the app in the dialer but the file has either changed its name or is not fully installed.

AT&T requested that the feature be removed from their devices so that they can sell you theirs and charge you a monthly fee. If you flash the unlocked firmware (XAA) Samsung Smart Call (Whitepages) is integrated and is turned on but cannot be turned off. Spam Protection is controllable thru the dialer menu.
Hi everyone,
Yesterday I got a new update from EMUI and I allowed it. But when the phone restarted I found a new lock screen, from the app "Smart". I hated it so I disable the app (I can't uninstall it).
Now when I turn on my screen the first thing that shows up is "enter pin" insted of my wallpaper lock screen, notifications and clock.
Please hepl me with this problem, usually I turn on my screen to check my notifications and the time.
MY phone has Android 7.0 and EMUI 5.0.1
Thanks.
Do you have fingerprint on? It forces the pin lockscreen. On and off randomly on mine since that update which I put off until 2 days ago.
But if you disabled it can't you re enable it? One way would be a factory reset failing other methods like adb or app menu.

Sorry I forgot to mention that, I did the factory reset and wiped the cache. I've tried disable the finger print now, turned off then on with the power button but nothing. I tried too with the app menu but about the abd... I dont know about it.
i never heard of this nor did I ever encounter the issue, I don't think an app called "Smart" is by Huawei, I may be mistaken.
Pin and can't see notifications
I have The Same problem and I couldn't fix it..

Guys try disabling (if you're using it obviously) the smart lock feature from settings -> lock screen.
I cannot screen grab it, but I cannot figure out either what this is, or how to stop it. When I resume the device from being locked, and attempt to input my fingerprint, sometimes, iit will show a bunch of notifications in a screen that resembles the drop down menu. I can"clear all", and then, swipe up, and use the fingerprint sensor on the 2ndary screen(I can either fingerprint or put in my pin).
Does anyone possibly know what this is, and how to rid myself of it? It must be some kind of new feature, because i never had this on my note 8.??
Much appreciated for any help or suggestions..

Have you got Samsung Good Lock, installed ...?
In particular Samsung " Notistar " thats included in Good lock or maybe you side loaded" Notistar" ( module/app ) it .?
if you look in the Notistar settings ( top right, 3 dots menu),you will see "Using in lock screen enabled " most likely grayed out?
It happened to me a few times ,but i managed to figure it out !
Otherwise if you can uninstall module or disable etc and test
Good luck

Yes I do have both the gods lock and the NotiStar enabled. And I also did as you stated and turned that iron off. I may just uninstall that module all together?
Many many thanks!

Good lock... no you don't have to uninstall.
Notistar.... not necessarily..
As stated i was also puzzled, as to what was causing this issue. Luckily, i recognized that it was Notistar, as it had that same transparent layer background, if you launched Notistar manually.
I still have Notistar even though I hardly use it.
I been using, another app.. similar, called Notification History Log (Play Store) the paid version.
What i did was, to turn off my lockscreen notifications.
This is my own preference, as i don't prefer
lockscreen notifications, as my Note 10 +is set to facial
recognition, plus i have Google smart unlock enabled.
eg. Samsung Gear S3 watch, car radio etc. is all set to smart unlock.
Plus, i use double tap from sleep.
So i don't even see a lockscreen.
Why then keep notifications for a lockscreen.?
Also in Device /Settings /Apps /Notistar i have permission to appear on top /over apps turned off.
I have created a Nova Prime gesture shortcut for Notistar if i want to see it.
Good luck
You know, lol, this phone is strange in its notifications. It is taking a while to get used toit from my note 8(maybe I'm just getting old). I Ihad this issue, and then I had an issue with this strange beeping whenI was connected-to my home network, So this note is taking some time to work out the bugs.
Anyhow though, for now, because of that, Iam just going to KISS principal the Notistar. Lol!
Thank you tons though!

Moment I read the subject, first thing that came to mind was Samsung " Notistar "
