[Completed] Help with Casio g'zone type-x - XDA Assist

This is a phone i have had for a number of years, and had got while I was living in Japan, currently living in Australia. The phone is a Casio G'z One Type-x and currently still locked to au by KDDI. Its a nice tough sturdy phone.
I would like help to back up the phones rom, it says that the rom is KCP+ from what I have read.
The reason for creating a backup of the rom is so i can change the cpu from a CDMA processor to a duel CDMA/GSM processor. I would like the backup incase an issue was to occur as there is no where I can find to get the stock rom for the phone.
If anyone has had experience in dealing with this sort of situation, please provide advice on things to consider.

[Completed] Bluetooth not switching on on new Android boxes....

Hello there,
My brother bought a few Android boxes similar in spec to these models.......here
He bought quite a few of them rooted with his own branding on them and had his own firmware sent to him.
I was wanting to use one for XBMC which works great and for a retro games machine and this is where i am having a problem, i bought a g910 gamepad to use on this android box and switched on blue tooth but the switch immediately switches back to off.
I remember having this problem a couple of times with custom roms on the phones i had and it was usually sorted out with a fix from a developer.
I am hoping the Chinese suppliers that made these machine will send him my brother a fix or an updated firmware but there has been no reply back yet.
I would like to ask you gurus here if it is possible to fix this problem myself?
Could i use root explorer or something to repair the blue tooth problem?.......the firmware is currently on 4.4.2
I would appreciate any help.
Thanks:good:
Hi!
This is a tricky thread. Its kinda vague to be honest. You've said devices "similar" to....custom firmware someone created...etc.
You may need to be far more specific for decent advice, and obviously using the factory firmware may be your only solution. The custom firmware obviously has bugs.
All that said, here is where you should ask about devices that don't have their own section....

Good luck! ?
Cheers!

[Completed] EE Harrier Mini (Benq T47)

Please can someone help?
I'm looking for a rom for my Harrier mini from EE UK or as i found out actually is a Benq T47 and no matter hard i tried seems nowhere i can find anything for this phone. the rom the phone is using although on setting is being stated as a lollipop version is not even close as it does not look as the lollipop i have on my S4 or on my Htc, and the one the phone is having is lacking on many things. like there is no gallery, no "My files" and the settings of the phone are poor. and is shame because although that is a cheap device believe me is very good comparing it with both of my other phones.
thank you in advance anyone that will try to find to help me

[Completed] I need your advice for my new mobile

Dear Sir,
Iam looking for a new smartphone that should last for the coming two years.
the specs that Iam looking for is a reliable one.
I have some models in mind but I need your assistance in order to decide.
first choice: Huawei mate S or LG G4 or Samsungs S6 Edge +
second choice : Gionee Elife E8 or BLU Pure XL or Allview X2 Xtreme.
Remark: in option 2, although the three look like together but there should be some one who is better in quality and manufacturing products.
here I need your advice and recommendation for option 1 & 2
last but not least, if you really recommend a mobile that is not in the above list then I will be more than happy to hear from your side.
Awaiting for your reply and thanks in advance
Hello,
Thank you for using XDA Assist
Thank you also very much for asking our advise as to your new phone choice.
While most of us here very big phone enthusiast and have been on these boards for years, the one thing we have learned is that there is so much individualism and what someone may want for their device is not the same that someone else may want.
You have to analyze what is best for you.
What do you want to do with your phone?
How much is a certain feature valuable to you?
This is like asking which is the Best Rom? There is no answer for that!
It is what is best for the user.
May suggest you make a list as you have of devices you may be interested in.
Then go to read about each device the specs, maybe go to the XDA Forum for those devices and read what the users there are saying about it.
Collect as much information as you can then sit down go through it and figure out what is best for you.
Good Luck
Ragnar

Hello, and welcome to XDA!
Whenever a phone lacks a GSMArena entry, I consider that bad news. This one seems very carrier specific (as in Bell commissioned ZTE to make this phone). So I guess we're bringing back the the old days.
Well, so at a glance at the specs on the Bell website, storage is good on this phone, so that a big reason not to need root right off the bat.
My suggestion is to try some rooting methods and document your progress in a new thread here:
> General discussion > Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking
Please note, you will need to register for an account first.
If no luck, and if root is an imperative (don't see why it would based on my first glance, but YMMV), you may want to look at other phones in Bell's line-up (hopefully there's still time for the "no hard feeling's but this phone doesn't do it for me - can I exchange with this one?" expression).
If the latter is the case, you may find this thread useful in the search (cannot remember all that well, but they may have a good BYOD program - I do remember they knock down the plan cost if you bring an unlocked phone in). And if your an east-coaster (like me), Eastlink has a strong BOYD program, that uses Bell's towers.
Hope this helps.

[Completed] Phone Smashed, Looking For Recovery Company

I posted this on the Sprint S6 forum, but thought it may be able to get more attention here. My father smashed his phone. I was wondering if anyone new of a company that can retrieve pictures with a Riff Box or similar without the phone booting.
Thanks.
Hi,
It seems that you already found the best place on XDA to post your question.
