How to remove encryption from galaxy s4? - Security Discussion

I encrypted my phone because I was curious. It hanged at the cyanogenmod 13 boot logo for hours. I I cleared the cache and it booted normally, but now its asking for a password/pin for encrypted device memory, when it didn't ask for a password in the first place.

I fixed it, I just flashed the pit file and firmware file at the same time with odin.

NEED HELP Samsung S6 keeps booting into TWRP

So i used Flashify to download TWRP on my samsung s6 device. Once it reboot it went into TWRP. The problem is that i cant get out. I tried Rebooting the system, powering off the device and clearing the phone cache (wiping cache partition). But every time i boot it up it goes into TWRP!!!!!! I NEED IMMEDIATE HELP PLEASEEEEEE!!!!
I have a samsung galaxy s6 sm-g920t
That means there is a problem with your system. Do a full wipe, then plug in your phone to your computer and copy a zip file of any ROM compatible with your phone and flash it. That should do.

Don't know what I just did, I need your help

Hi there, I'm a first time poster I really need your help. So I flashed my D850 from 4.4.2 to 7.0 and it's giving me an error and the blue and red lights are flashing with a black screen everytime I try to boot into recovery. I flashed the 7.0 file and was going to flash the Gapps file when this happened. The error message I'm getting is boot certification verify. I can boot into the the 7.0 operating system, but it's stripped of everything like apps, but I can still access settings. Should I do a factory reset from the operating system? Or is there another way to fix this? I was using TWRP 3.0, I did a backup to my internal storage, I did a soft wipe, I flashed the rom, then I wiped the cache and rebooted. Thank you for replying.

Data partition killed (encrypted?!)

Hey guys
after installing the Android Oreo beta ZIP I got a problem. (used this zip here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74406679&postcount=36)
The first boot was great, everything worked okay.
Then I just restarted my device - boom. I am in a boot loop now. It only vibrates one time then three times and stays at the samsung logo.
So I wanted to reinstall the old ROM - "Data could not be mounted". It looks as my data partition got encrypted
Is there a way to access my data again? Havent reinstalled anything yet, no TWRP Backup restore, nothing.
Thanks!
Robin
Try flashing the original Samsung firmware with Odin
I want to "save" my data partition. If I refresh via ODIN, isn't the data partition deleted?
thanks!

Unsuccessful decryption

Okay, I'm not sure if this entirely the right place. Have updated to Viper 2.1.0. Rebooted my phone, as I do each morning. It came up with needing to to enter a decryption key, ie; my password. Did said & it failed saying that data is corrupt. TWRP can no longer read the data portion either. Therefore can't wipe it in TWRP.
Is there a way to format or wipe the data partition through either fastboot or adb?
Factory reset but your data will be gone.

Click to collapse
Try this, Venom helped with it a while ago and it worked, you will just have to re activate smart lock in google setting.
TWRP-Advanced-File Browser.
Navigate to /data/system and delete the locksettings.db.
I got my phone back from HTC after repair my phone screen and they wiped my custom rom and recovery but still have unlocked bootloader and restore oreo 8.0.
I managed to re-install twrp and tried to install a customed rom and experienced the same "decryption unsuccessful". But there is no lockingsettiings.db in the folder.
I will later try this method and report.... been a frustrating day....

Device not booting after flashing twrp.

The internal storage was empty (showing 0mb) after flashing twrp. So, I wiped and everything. Then, it showed but when I tried to boot to system, it boot looped.
I have flashed the stock firmware so it is back to normal.
The 2nd time I flashed a custom kernel before twrp and also flashed the no verity opt encrypt but this time when booting to system, it showed the Samsung logo and shut down. The internal storage was not mounted this time too.
