[FREE][APP] Remote control for Apple TV - CiderTV (no jailbreak, no infrared needed) - Android Apps and Games

Hi all!
Recently I dicovered "Remote for Apple TV - CiderTV" app - first really working alternative to the Remote app by Apple! No infrared support required, no need to jailbreak. For me it became a real treasure, so want to share you my expericence.
Although my Huawei is of the newest ones, it doesn`t have IR support. And I didn`t want to jailbreak my Apple TV like other apps offered me. It seemed like a dead end first but I was lucky enough to try an app called “Remote for Apple TV — CiderTV” — the only app that worked as I wanted and as was advertised. And some more — was available at no charge.

Easy setup
The app works via WiFi and revealed surprisingly easy to set up. It needs the fabric remote during initial pairing but any other remotes (including apps), paired to your Apple TV before are good for setup as well. As for me — I took my dad’s iPhone and paired via the Remote app in seconds.
Control with gestures
CiderTV remote lets you to control Apple TV with responsive swipes. Same idea was implemented in the Remote app for iOS by Apple but this Android analogue seems more accurate and pleasant to use. One swipe moves the cursor on Apple TV screen right for one position (when overscrolls are typical for iOS Remote). While watching a video, swipe left/right lets you to rewind video or fast-forward. Further swipes will increase rewind/fast-forward speed. It works perfectly with my 4th generation ATV. Touch response is better than the original remote. They didn`t lie!
Swipe and tap to select the on-screen menu I want, double tap anywhere on the screen to go back. Especially handy for nighttime — instead of struggling to find the Menu button within Apple’s Remote app, now I just need to double tap anywhere inside CiderTV to go back a level.
No pitfalls
And I didn`t notice any annoying lags, adds or pitfalls. No need to purchase additional hardware. Many people in their reviews are wondering why isn`t the app more popular. It even has a keyboard — the feature that absolutely lacks in all IR-based apps.
Summing Up
CiderTV is free, doesn`t require IR support or Apple TV jailbreak;
It works via WiFi and is easy to pair;
CiderTV is swipe-based remote with no buttons;
No full-screen, push notification or any other pop-up ads;
No additional hardware needed.
Happy to discover it! It is worthy to try. Grab CiderTV in the Play Store

Playing old Mattel LED games under Windows Mobile

Back in the late seventies or early eighties, you may have had a Light-emitting diode (LED)-based handheld game console. They were manufactured by Mattel and a complete list of them is available HERE. They were pretty simplistic but still great fun and are, today, very hard to find (they’re typically a collector’s item offered accordingly at high prices).
Should you want to play some of these games under Windows Mobile (or, for that matter, Palm OS or the desktop Windows (even Vista)), you will want to turn to Peter Hirschberg’s LEDhead, the faithful reimplementation of some of these games. While only part of the original LED games have been re-implemented (compare the list of the originally available games HERE and the implemented games HERE), you may still find the currently available games fun or, at least, nice to bring up memories of those ages.
Fortunately, the games run flawlessly on all Windows Mobile devices – even WM5 / WM6 ones. Some example screenshots of them running on VGA devices:

(Auto Race)
(Space Alert)
As in the desktop version, the main menu allows for selecting the game you’d like to play. You can also redefine the hardware buttons (unfortunately, the app doesn’t read all the buttons dynamically – that is, if your handheld has more than 4 buttons, it’ll still list only four)
Getting, using
Get the emulator HERE (alternate download HERE) . Unzip the file and transfer LEDhead.exe and LEDhead.dll to your handheld. Start the former; select the game to run in the left list and click Start Game in the upper right corner. You can also disable sounds (using the Mute checkbox) and assign controls to hardware buttons.
Note that it also has an SH3 and a MIPS version, should you have an old PPC2k handheld.

We can ease your tech aches and pains.
The Kreyos Meteor is a hands-free, two-way communication system that you wear on your wrist. On your belt. On your bike. Or even on a lanyard around your neck.
Because it is light and portable, it’s easy to wear while on the move – whether you’re on a long bike ride or a short-trip to the grocery store.
For the first time ever, you now will have hands-free control over the powerhouse mini-computer that sits in your pocket.
UPDATE (01-JULY-2013): Kreyos Meteor has the ability to answer phone calls DIRECTLY from your wrist without reaching for your phone in the pocket.
You can answer the call with a gesture or by simply pressing the answer button on the watch. We added this update as many backers are confused whether they can answer calls from their wrist.
Gesture control, fitness apps, much more!
UPDATE (28-JUNE-2013): Gestures controls could be configured in the free Kreyos App.
Wish you could send texts without typing? Or change your music without pressing a button?
Talking to your watch makes communication easy, but we also added motion control right into the Kreyos operating system.
Using a 3-axis gyroscope, controlling your Kreyos Meteor Smartwatch is as easy as moving your hand.
In the Meteor, four different wrist motions come preconfigured – and you can pick an action to correspond to specific activities.
In the future, we’ll be adding a variety of additional motions to the Kreyos platform, enabling you to expand the motions in your repertoire.
And developers also will have the freedom to build additional gestures into applications.
Because of its hands-free functionality, the Kreyos Meteor gives you more freedom to move around your world – without losing contact with your social, business and family networks.
I would do anything to get this..
Find out more here.
I posted on another thread that I like the notion that I can have safer access to my phone while walking through the big city. I don't have to worry about my phone getting stolen out of my hand. It'll be a fun experiment to see how close you need the watch to your mouth and ears to use it for voice though.

Promo video (I made it myself too!)
A Home Screen replacement that can be easily activated/deactivated so you can switch your mobile/tablet to a child mode.
Features:
You can turn your tablet/mobile in a family device by just enabling the app. It behaves as a launcher so it blocks most of the access to unwanted features (it even blocks the taskbar without being root, only in Android 4.0, 4.1 has disabled this).
Dads can filter which apps are available for their kids, so they can avoid them to access to unwanted apps.
It recommends new apps for installing (from third party at the Google Play Store), reviewed by the Cience Education Institue of the University of Girona (Spain).
The desktop, called MILAN Playground is an interactive environment, with a lot of elements that react and move by touching them, so the desktop itself is like a game.
Parents can protect the configuration with a password.
New scenarios/desktops coming in future updates.
Now the story behind this (you can skip it, is not that interesting but I wanted to share it):
Not so long ago, I decided I wanted to develop games and interactive apps for different platforms. I got really lucky, and a company hired me as a freelancer to develop a software they were planning to include in a tablet for launching next August. This was at the end of the last year.
I suggested them an interactive desktop for kids (the tablet was family oriented), with a lot if interactive elements so the desktop could be like a game itself. They liked the idea and I started to work on it part time, combining it with my full time job and family.
Some weeks ago, I got fired from my job, and instead of feeling miserable (well I feel like it a little bit, but not too much: being fired never is easy) I realized how lucky I am now for being able to work full time in something I like and, hopefully, will pay the bills (for now).
So here it is, an interactive desktop for Android, that can be easily switched by changing the default desktop (just press "exit" and it will ask for your default launcher). I'm really excited as it is my first big app designed and made by myself. It maybe has some rough edges, so here's where I need your help, I need your feedback.
The company that hired me is called MILAN (like the Italian city), so the app is called MILAN Playground.
PS: They are considering to add some specific features available through an unlocker. I'll update the post when I have news about this.

[NOMone VR Browser] Enables you to surf the normal web while wearing your VR glasses!

Hello everyone ,
I wanted to share with you our new android VR browser : NOMone VR Browser
It is a side-by-side android browser that enables you to surf the normal internet pages/content while wearing vr glasses. You can use it also for online streaming, reading manga, watching your favorite videos as if your in a cinema! or even working anywhere without laptop/desktop (just your mobile, keyboard and mouse!).
For devices with Gyro sensor, you don't even need the keyboard and mouse. Just slightly move your head( like gaze based apps), put on your earphones and use its button for clicking/ dragging.

}
The browser is still undergoing heavy development (like making compatible VR keyboard in the next release isA, theater mode for 360 videos and other cools features ), but it's perfectly usable now.
Let me sum up the main current features:
=================================
Gyroscope based pointer. Move your head and use your earphones/handsfree/controller media button to click. You can perform continuous scrolling by dragging to the top/bottom of the screen. You can also use other configurations (like a USB keyboard/mouse using OTG cable, or a wireless keyboard and mouse combo, or bluetooth keyboard/mouse).
From the options menu, use the calibration settings to get the ideal configuration for your cardboard or VR glasses for optimum VR/3D experience.
Bookmarks. Before putting your phone into the cardboard, open all the links you need and add them to bookmarks. This way you won't have to remove it to type url. Do this until the VR keyboard is ready (in next release if Allah wills).
If you have a small screen, try decreasing the browser scale (in calibration settings) to show more content in the same area.
A basic ad pop up blocking is in place to give you less hassle while browsing.
If you have a bluetooth VR controller, use the mouse mode (press "Fn + D"). You can drag continuously by holding left click down and using the analogue stick.
Opening local video files (From the gallery/file manager. Android 5.0 & 5.1 only. will work on all 5.0+ in next release isA).
Keyboard shortcuts (ctrl+tab, ctrl+shift+tab, ctrl+t, ctrl+shift+t, ctrl+w, ctrl+r, esc).
Sign up for a Cloud 9 IDE account. Happy coding.
Install X11VNC and connect to your remote machine using NOVNC.
Install a local server, like Palapa Web-server and install your tools. Now, control everything from the browser.
Known Issues:
-- The normal soft-keyboard is not fit for VR browsing.
-- Can't use the gyroscope cursor to type.
Coming up next:
-- VR keyboard.
-- Theater mode (for 360 degree immersion and more video formats support).
-- Save/Load tabs from last times.
-- Most frequently visited launch screen.
-- Lens correction.
-- Mixed reality mode (have the browser in front of you, but see the camera feed when looking to the sides).
We think the VR Browser is a great idea, but we need you support and feedback to improve it and make everyone's experience a great one. Kindly try the application and tell us what you think.
Thanks a lot for your time and effort in advance
