trojens and malware free android - Samsung Galaxy Core

Holla guys....
So, guys since a time I was thinking to post this but haven't got time.....
Recently my head was collided with the so called trojens like ENGRILS, ENGRIKS, com.android.system.UI , and also a virus naming PORNCLUB.
GOD knows from where they have been automatically download to my system...!!
Working signs of these viruses:-
1. They regularly dowload the third party apps without the permission of user....
2. These viruses convert themselves system apps which cannot be uninstalled... and even if u try to disable them or force stop they restart in short go
3. Several apps starts crashing down...
4. Your Android will starts hanging over again and again...
5. Phone starts heating up like hell...
6. And if they are powerful they can even cancel the root previleges in your Android. In simple words they will unroot ur mobile and after that frameroot will not create any difference. ... (as happened in my case too...)
So how to get rid of them in just some of steps:-
1. Just go to recovery mode
2. Then clear cache ,dalvik cache also for ur system from there
3. If it does not work... them simply connect ur android to pc via data cable
4. Then via odin flash original firmware to ur android and go to recovery and clear cache...then re-root ur android with frameroot..
5. Then install ur old rom and keep rocking...!!!
Congo fellas u have just killed engriks virus....and and and don't forget to hit that thumbs upp if u like my work.....!!!
Adios...

Installing new rom/firmware

I'm trying to figure out the best way to install a new rom/firmware. Here is the process I have been using to date but I'm sure there must be easier way then doing all this.
1. Reinstall firmware/rom.
2. Check recovery to see if it still works. If it doesn't reinstall it.
3. Install su through recovery if necessary.
4. Install a file manager if necessary.
5. Install titanium backup.
6. Install Apps2SD
7. Install 10 apps at a time (so memory doesn't fill up) then use apps2sd to link to SD card.
8. Check to see if everything is running smoothly. If it's not do a wipe at this point and go back to step 4.
This is a time consuming process and I'm looking for ways to improve the process. Especially at step 7. It takes forever to load the apps then link2sd. Is there another way to do this part so memory doesn't fill up? Even when I check the option to auto link it doesn't auto link when installing apps from titanium.
I don't use nandroid. I've tried it in the past and the restoration usually ends up being pretty buggy. I've spoken to a few friends and they don't do it either. i'm not sure if it's possible that I will brick my phone without doing a nandroid backup but I haven't yet.

Issue: Frequent STOPPED WORKING with com.gappas.com, com.phone.com and the other basic applications!
What I did:
1. Rooted the phone;
2. Installed ZAEM Launcher;
3. Used SD Maid to remove stock applications including the default LAUNCHER!
Now: No dialer, no contact list and the phone is actually stuck at the blank screen now.
Device:
Manufacturer: Symphony
Model: W100
Android: ICS
I realize I messed up removing the stock launcher, I didn't know it would also remove the fundamental applications.
Tried several FACTORY RESET (POWER + VOLUME UP) aka RECOVERY, but nothing worked. It seems SD Maid removed the stock applications from the RECOVERY image as well.
Please help me out. Thanks in advance.
Send a private message to this guy.
UPDATE
WORKAROUND for people with similar case.
WARNING: SD Maid will remove applications from the recovery image too, use with caution;
Steps:
1. Give it a factory reset with RECOVERY option;
2. Root the device;
3. Complete the setup wizard as far it takes you;
4. Upon setup wizard crash and NO LAUNCHER stuck situation, access SETTINGS by pulling down the top STATUS BAR;
5. Allow application installation from UNKNOWN SOURCEs & USB DEBUG MODE;
6. Use ADB to install ZEAM LAUNCHER (you can use management applications like WonderShare MobileGo as well);
After a while, you will see the ZEAM LAUNCHER appearing as the default launcher, configure and make it your own. From now onwards, this is your system default launcher and keep missing the stock one
Note:
1. With every RECOVERY RESET, you will need to install ZEAM LAUNCHER this way
2. I used ZEAM LAUNCHER, I believe you can actually go with any launcher;

So .. it is fixed now right ?
Anyway ..... i mean you still can use other launchers right ?
i mean Install some other Launcher for Now .......
And before doing this kind of thing you should always make nandroid backup !
And i removed my stock launcher for like ages ago .... first install the launcher you like > Set as default >> then remove the stock launcher !

There is no "recovery image" unless you make one in cwm or so.
The system apps are on the system partition the only way to remove a system app (if you don't want to just freeze it), is to delete it from there.
Upon factory reset, the /data partition (and some others) get wiped and the apps in /system/app (like the launcher) get reinstalled.
You can put apps there yourself and they will survive a factory reset.

Yes it is working now with another launcher. I didn't know SD Maid would affect the recovery image and things will be lost forever! Is there a way to flash custom ROM on W100?
Thanks for your time.

Yeah, that is where I wonder. After uninstalling the stock launcher with SD Maid, even a recovery didn't reinstall the launcher!

Hi,
Sorry, I was on the go waiting for bus and couldn't respond enough.
Yeah I applied the work around and the devices is fantastic now.
My mistake was that I couldn't realize SD Maid would remove the stock applications in a ways where they cannot be restored even with a RECOVERY! Bad, very very bad... lol
The device was stuck after turning on, where it would look for the launcher to manage the system interface, it was a partially HUNG situation, as there was no launcher to manage the interface and other basic operations. I used WonderShare MobileGo to install a 3rd party launcher, Zaem Launcher, and within 5 seconds, when the system had another try to initiate the default launcher, Zaem Launcher kicked in, ad it registered itself as a launcher and there were no stock launcher, so the system assumed it the launcher to start This was nice... very very nice.
But I know, if I give the device another RECOVERY, POWER + VOLUME UP, the same thing will happen again and I would have to follow the same workaround to make the device usable.
So far I can understand, the only thing that can bring the device to it's original state is a way to flash an intact ROM, preferably the stock ROM came with it. But the trouble is, this device has RECOVERY LOADER 3E which is well known no to be penetrated Please let me know if you have a way to replace this RECOVERY LOADER so other ROMs can be flashed on this device.
Thank you again Sir for your kind respons.
You are confusing something, SD Maid did not remove anything that can't be restored.
If you remove a system app, with any tool that can do that, a FACTORY RESET won't restore it.
You will either have to flash the ROM again, thus restoring the original content of /system/app, or copy the missing file over there again manually.

Dear Sir,
Yes you are correct and am sorry for my little knowledge in this. However, I wanted to mean what you said, check my earlier post, the only way seems to be flashing a ROM.
I said this because, I thought FACTORY RESET and RECOVERY are not the same thing. A factory reset is suppose to clean the user data only while a recovery should bring the device back to it's manufacturer state, by flashing the system with original set of OS and applications.
Although, in the recovery mode, it says FACTORY RESET, but it does more than that, I hope So I said I did recoveries, not factory resets. Still, I think you are correct, and you already know what I meant to describe.
Thank you again Sir for your time.
Hi .... But Sorry to say that W100 Still dosen't have any Custom ROM / Recovery ...
As you may already know MMX A90 and W100 is the Same ......

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I think Google's stock JB ROM is worth a try but cannot find a way to flash it on W100 through RECOVERY MODE
Also do you think if copy all the contents from the /system partition of another W100 to mine, my W100 will come back to the stock apps situation as it were?
Yes it will work! But just take the files you only need ™

[Q] multiple ROMs, same issues

I have downloaded a few ROMs and installed them. In all of them, I have been getting multiple random reboots per day. Also, I tend to have reboots when calling. It seems very odd that I am having the same issues across multiple ROMs. Anyone have any ideas?
Edit: I am currently running Hyperdrive RLS15 but I have tried Liquid Smooth 2.9 and had the same issues.
How are you installing the Roms ? What kernel are you using ? Do you have any apps controlling kernel ? Did you use titanium , if so then what did restore ? User AND system apps ?

I installed Hyperdrive via TWRP and Liquid Smooth through goo manager (Couldn't download HD via goo).
I believe my kernel is a stock kernel (unless the download for HD included one). It is 3.0.31 - 1152558.
I don't believe I have any apps controlling kernel but I don't know which apps do...
I have titanium but did not use it to restore anything. I know I have previously backed up apps with Liquid Smooth but when I look for "restore missing apps with data", I have 0. There is nothing to restore. I assume that is because those are not compatible with HD.
I tried reflashing Liquid Smooth like 4 times and it never got any better. I tried reflashing HD last night and my phone rebooted 6 times throughout the night.
OK when you flash , back up all your data . then don't use goo manager , flash things manually with twrp . wipe data , dalvik , cache , system and internal ( because you flashed aosp you might have 0 folders ) . wipe at least twice then install . on your first boot let the phone sit for five mins without touching it .
About titanium : buy the full version , press menu , then in preferences go to back up folder location and make it your external SD card . memorize this location and you will have to do this with every ROM installation . why external SD you may ask me , because I firmly believe in wiping the Intetnal with every ROM install . now ONLY BACK UP USER APPS never ever system apps . redelete all old backups every time you do a new back up .
I know I threw a lot of information your way, feel free to keep asking questions
Also make sure you're using the latest twrp .

You may also want to backup Account information, SMS/MMS, Call Logs, etc. Titanium Backup give you an option to do this (Titanium symbols in Backup/Restore tab).

I tried this this morning with no effect. I wiped everything x3 and reinstalled. Had issues with Google Play, did a factory reset. Google started working again. 2 hours later, I had a reboot that would not load. I did another reset and it loaded. I'm still having issues thought.
Ok. So, I ended bringing the phone back to stock. The device is defective. I'm have a while slew of issues with it now. Went to Verizon and told then to send me a brand new one.

The issue was not a result of the gapps. It was that the phone was defective. When it was brought back to stock, it would constantly tell me that to insert a SIM card and then lose connection. Every time my phone rebooted when rooted, it was the SIM card being "lost". Once it was back to stock, it was obvious Asurion sent me a defective phone to replace my previously defective phone.

solved: low memory error while playing games in 1ghz 512 mb ram phones

hello guys m new to xda. and i just know some basics of android OS
lets come to d point.i have searched on google about to get rid of low memory in low ram devices. Like when ever i play some games. A low memory error blinks on top right corner. And game gets closesl. I have tried many Task Killers, Greenify,Clean Master etc, but no success. Then atlast i got a way to get rid of low memory error. Guys i don't hv a pc or laptop now so m making the topic here from my phone. Phone model: lava iris 455, armv7 Dual core 1ghz processor ,Ram 512 mb,My idea will work for all those who are getting this error because of low ram,..
*The apps we need
1) titanium backup
2)switchme account
note: make nandroid backup before doing anything. m not responsible if nything goes wrong.
So lets start.
Your phone must be rooted as u all knows nothing is possible without root.
1st download "switchme accounts"
And install it.and run.
It ll ask for superuser permissions. Allow it.
After running the SWITCHME create a profile for ur phone and give it a name.
like ANYTHING1 Now create a 2nd profile. n name it ANYTHING2
Remember u need to have enough space in ur internal memory and sdcard.
As the 2nd profile will use some memory.
I ll not explain deeply cZ m on phone. Can't type for long time.
After creating the profiles click on 2nd created profile. This profiles is temporary profile and can be deleted any time if u want. Also this profile will be used to play games.let me explain in steps now.
1) switch to 2nd profile.it ll take sometime to login. Phone will be restart.
2)in 2nd profile u will see that ur phone is factory reset condition as this profile is temporary.
3) Now install The Titanium Backup n run. open the backup and restore window. Check the all system apps which is running currently. Now just freeze the apps tht u don't need. As you are going to use this profile for gaming.so you don't need xtra useless system apps.
Be careful. While freezing the apps. Because if u freeze a system app which is important to run the system then the system will be crashed and u ll have to restore back ur back from recovery. It is bit dangerous and do not try if u don't know what ur going to do.
So freeze the apps that is extra and not important for the system to run.in my case i have disabled many apps including message, contacts, gallery, etc i ll upload the snaps. You can see what apps are running for system.
WE WILL FREEZE THE APPS THAT ARE NOT IMPORTANT THESE APPS ARE EATING UR PHONE RAM. SO BY FREEZING THEM UR JUST FREED UP SOME RAM. I HV GOT 250 MB RAM N GAMES RUNNING LIKE CHARM.
Remember nothing will be happen to ur 1st profile as it is administrator profile. Do not do anything to 1st profile. ( main profile)
NOTE: u should keep the switchme widget on homescreen . If anything goes wrong or ur launcher gets crashed.just click on switchme and logout the profile which is currently logged in.so you ll be redirected to 1st Admin profile where the system is as it is before.
any help needed? Developers and mods are there feel free to ask.
Thank u.
Hey man your tutorial is great but i did something wrong. I created the two accounts and switched to second one. Now i am stuck on the second account unable to switch and it has no internal memory to install apps from play store so i can't install switchme again to be able to switch. I also can't use backup because i got the recovery it came with and i can't flash the backup i made using a program from market. I also can't find a recovery for my device since it's an Ipresspeed e1 tablet . I tried reset from settings and the stock recovery but when it restarts it still starts on this second account. So i am guess i am really bad Pls help me , i've ran out of ideas

[Q] NEED HELP : My phone behaves itself in installing applications

Hi all,
I am using lava xolo Q2000 model mobile with android jelly bean in it.
I m used to games a lot, So I have gone for apps which are not from google play. There my mistake strsrts, at that time my mobile performance and all were good.
But later the following problems started,
1. The display just turned off and I can able to sense and hear the application is still running but only the screen turned off, when I am rebooting my mobile it gets OK and working fine - Is this problem on hardware or its OS or because of any third party app installed ?
2. Whenever I switching ON my network connection the mobile itself installs random apps by itself the frequent one getting installed is flappy bird. I keep on unistalling it several times it is getting installed everytime I m getting internet connection - If it was an issue with the virus from third party apps please help me in how to remove them ?
I know there were many android geeks around in this forum, So I am here to meet them by answering and helping me....
Thanks in advance

No I haven't rooted.
I cant differentiate which are from android market and what are from outside of it .
I have un-installed most of the apps that I suspect, but few might be still in phone
Could you please tell me how to find the difference from the sources.
Are you sure uninstalling them will avoid the behavior completely. please help me . Do I need to Factory reset ?

best way to control is phone is the root acces.
First you should install some avast antivirus. Normally google play checks every application for unwished content.
I do many installs manually without google checking my apps and also i dont use some antivirus, because i feel very familiar with my setup.
Here you can find AVAST apk Wasn't that easy to find without googgle Play... see if it reports you some malware

Nice
I forgot to specify one thing,
I was using lookout(free version) for a long time and it hasn't detected anything. But one strange thing is lookout's logo on top left of mobile was green but it turned black and white for few days where this problem persists.
Should I need to uninstall it and then install avast or both in the mobile wont be harm to the mobile right? because two antivirus in same device I don't now what will happen.

just once a time. avast is best i suppose. And generally you should uninstall every app thta missbehaves noticeable to you.
Try to install an antivirus . Virus can make this problem .
If you have root access just temporary unroot it .
Or please restore your backup if you had .
Hope I helped .

All files to get here-->Xolo Q2000 ROOT + UNROOT + STOCK
BUT i explain it to your a little shorter just hold on a minute
OTA(on the air) update:
OTA is a stock rom (also used as an update) released by the manufacturer of your phone. E.g. update Android 4.12 -> 4.22.
OTAs are very unsecure to use as you can update from running system which great chace of getting issues or a fully crashed rom ar in worst case a brick. Cause the update can be affected by installed apps, running processes, wrong executed scripts and so on. If you look on XDA you will find a lot posts of people with phones got different kinds of problems and issues while using ota on a system tahts already in use.
RUU/FIRMWARE --> is a full system image that will be installed via usb cable an a updtae tool running on your computer or a special "Flashtool"
This will work pretty good and safe AS IT RESETS YOUR SETTINGS back to stock so you will not have any errors in most cases and also can restore a phone that crashed before.
No matter if OTA or FIRMWARE (provided files can be identically by the way) its NECESSARRY to install only version fitting your phone type and may be region an carrier/provider. Wrong files will definitely BRICK your phone.
ROOT ist the lowest storage area you can acces. E.g. if you put i file direct on your sd-card its on the root of it. The internal storage is splitted due to different needs of android. On a stock rom many folders or partitions can't be accessed by the user or grant just permissions to "read" files BUT NOT edit or delete them.
ROOT ACCES (or called offen just ROOT/ED) means that you have forced to changes the devives settings to grant user FULL ACCES and WRITE/DELETE ability on every part of the storage in your phone. Thats really powerfull, bacause the most "GOOD" features you can only use if this acces is granted to you e.g.
- DELETE preinstalled but NOT NEEDED apps
- Control network by using a REAL firewall
- Controll all processes on your phone
- using a adblocker
- backup / restore every part of your system/data
- use different file systems
-overclock / undervolt CPU
- MUCH MUCH MORE
BUT its RISKY if you dont know about how to act right and you can easily CRASH your installation or even FULLY DESTROY your phone if you set things that simply will kill teh hardware or delete files needed to get android working
UNROOT (disabling root acces)
and the best of all:
CUSTOM ROM:
Android is open source so every one eho can develope it by pgrogramming may modify/improve it and also add new features. Stock roms are always SLOW/FULL WITH CRAP allow just a few settings ti interface performance and how the device should behave or even NOT BEHAVE. Stocks have in most cases lots of apps preinstalled which are locked by default. So ycant delete/stop them. Means that may be some apps you NEVER USE alsways RUN IN BACKGROUND. That handled like that for systems are force to beeing much slower/laggier/customizable as android technology and the used hardware would provide it. + the user installed preferred apps additionally During long use rom will also slow down more an more. That in best case after a year or may be two you just think OMG i need a new phone for sure. Then your manufacturer tells you LOOK at this all new features... (May be they were just holded back and not related so hardware in many cases) For example my old Galaxy W (from 2011) runs a highly modded, slimmed and customized to my personal needs Android 4.4.2 KitKat rom, as you get with the latest generation phones. Of course the device is old ad has outdatted hardware, but newest android itself runs really good
So to get the best experience from your phone you need to remove all restriction possible. Unlock/root/security flag off so that u can really use what you want and DELETE anything you don't need/like/slow down phone/track and sniff your personal data. every Stock phone knows A LOT abour who you are and what you're going... Of course also a custom rom will need data to work. But at least you can control every single app. Set every permission of all apps or even trick sensor datas to give apps faked data if they should not track you.
As you can read: i really love to modify phones xD
Hi LS,
Thanks for the long explanation given for my question. :good:
I have tried out something about my problem and faced the issue again.
I wanted to know whether the virus is in mobile or SD card so I removed SD card and made internet connection and again the same problem persisted.
The following are the apps getting automatically installed are,
Playapp
UC browser mini
Flappy bird
I planned to take backups and factory reset my phone .
Could you please guide me..

Yes I have read and I have some other confusions ,
Whether my phone is in affected state now if I root it then virus could get feel into and turned my phone to brick?
Also whenever I heard of rooting it always makes me afraid of bricking by myself..
That's why I have decided for an factory reset ..

I cant tell you what is affected or not. FULL wipe and installing Stockrom Q2000 provides best chance to get rid of "IT".
I just google how to.
You should backup Pictures, Contacts
You should NOT try to restore any APP data as long you don't know why your phone begaves like that...
EDIT:
If afraid of possible brick, then try factory reset.
If that doesn't help you can contact me and i'll help you flashing stockrom.
Issue solved
Hi LS,
I have taken all my contents a back up and made a factory reset. Now my phone behaves genuine.
And one more important thing is I have avoided installing third party apk's.
But I am fond of heavy games much ... could you please let me know how I can avoid data usage for getting heavy games.
Thanks,
LS

If the data is needed to run the game you probably can't avoid to download it...
playApp
Hi
I am also having the same problem with my xolo q2000
But i know the cause for this is due to the bloatware "playApp" that comes with the phone
Its an imitation of play store
When connected to network its shows notification adds of apps like
Flappy bird
Funweather
Uc browser etc
After some time those apps gets downloded automatically and launch themself
I found apk files for those apps in my sd card/playApp/downloads folder
And there are other folder in sd card like
PlayPay
Playpush
PPlay
Othet folders are
Data/data/me.powerplay.playapp
Mnt/asec-/me.powerplay.playapp-1 inside this folder there is file pkg.apk with app icon
I rooted my phone using eroot pc software and installed Root toolbox app
and uninstalled the playApp.It was fine for some time and then
after one or two days the playApp application automatically installs itself
and the whole problem starts again i tried uninstalling and deleteing all folders
i thought was related to playApp,deleted files in folders including data folder in restricted folders
But the same thing happend again playApp auto installed and installed other applications
One more thing even though it came with the phone its listed as a userapp
and is not found in the phones app manager
Is there a way to solve this plroblem?
This is my first post and i know only few basic technical things that i read from the net and experimented
Thanks in advance
