I have a Motorola G3 xt1542 Android 5.1.1 with root that recently installed a ROM taken from this forum (Personal Argentina (1GB) - XT1542_OSPREY_RETLA-PERAR_5.1.1_LPI23.72-43_cid12) and I had no problems installing it. If you want to upgrade Android ( move to higher version than 5.1 ) then you have to
1. Find a Custom Recovery that's suitable to the tablet
2. Find a higher-versioned Custom ROM what matches tablet's hardware
If both found then you've to
1. Flash the Custom Recovery
2. Flash the Custom ROM by Custom Recovery
