Adopted from another forum. Sorry cannot find the original thread now. I just rotated the pictures and adjusted the size. Credits go to original author.
Just put the file in /system/media/
Just found the original post. It's adapted from the first one 'Nature'.

Here is a boot animation I made for the Q. I first saw this stupid kitty on Rob Dyrdek's "Ridiculousness". I added Perfect Circle's "Weak and Powerless" as accompanying music. Pretty stupid, but that's what makes it good! This is my first boot animation and it came together nicely. I'll be making more now that I have the method down.

STUPID KITTY BOOT ANIMATION SOUND: http://d-h.st/bzb ...SORRY, LINK DOWN...
Below is a link to a XDA member who developed an auto-install script for boot animations on the Photon Q, prepackaged with animations. Navigate to the animation folder and replace the 'sprint_bootanimation" file and the MP3 sound file "Express1024x600' with the two files linked above, flash, and it works beautifully!

Download one of the Boot Animations on the first page WITH sound, make sure you navigate to the "animation" folder and replace the "Express" MP3 file with the one linked above, and the "sprint_bootanimation" file with the one linked above also.
Have Fun!
NOTE: The video is a stupid-looking cat with it's tongue sticking out and wagging up and down...strange...playing to the tune of a Tool/Perfect Circle track.

Here is a photo of the Stupid Kitty:
Also, you may take any MP3, cut it to desired size and part, and rename it "Express1024x600". Then paste it in the "animation" folder and have any sound you wish playing during animation.

My cat does that haha:laugh:
BIOS bootanimation made by me. 100% original, completely different to every other BIOS bootanimation you see. Then I've added my black HTC One bootanimation on the end. Enjoy.

Is there any way to make a bootanimation landscape and with sound ? I have tried and tried to figure it out and can't get it to do either. Well in lollipop at least. I did have cloudy with a bootanimation but not landscape and it had sound. I am completely stumped. I have a certain theme I am doing with my device and to have the boot animation to be landscape and with sound would complete my project. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can't recall if I've installed a custom boot anim in L yet... I think I have. I hope I get your question.
But just create the animation content (foreground) rotated 90 degrees (landscape for the foreground), leaving the background OEM (height and width). It should run perfectly.
The sound file is a separate sound file (ogg)

How do you rotate it ? Do you do it within the zip ?

Effectively you are creating an animated 'gif', in a manner. If I take Photoshop as the example:
check out this as an example.
http://www.online-tech-tips.com/computer-tips/create-animated-gifs-images-using-photoshop-cs6/ or an editor of your choice.
and this guys tutorial
http://forums.androidcentral.com/ac...ions-collection-tutorial-updated-10-19-a.html
You will create you background at the resolution (1080 W x 1920 H shutdown animation, boot animation full HD 1440 W x 2560 H are common resolutions for the G3) you wish for the animation, say solid black or what ever.
If you fully create your own, you will first set up the resolution and make your background color, then rotate the base image. Then create layers for each frame/cell of your animation. As you already rotated you base image to landscape, your layers will also be in landscape. Then copy each cell into a layer.
Create the animation, save each frame out as a jpg, create the desc.txt file, and zip it up, install (renaming your OEM animation to save them, and set permissions 644.
Following the guys tutorial, you can download animations, and deconstruct them, using parts as you wish.
Good luck.
I'm making my own Mortal kombat bootamimation from new game coming out. I have it full screen with a boot animation tool I found but can get poweron.ogg to play sound upon boot on lollipop candy5 ... Placed it in system/media/audio/ui but it is a no go.... With so7nd it would be soooo sick.
But I'll check out the links you gave me so maybe I get get it I'm landscaped instead of this full screen portrait cause it does look a little wonky

did some "Dodge" themed bootanimation stuff for my OP2,
resolution is 1080 x 1920
if you use a randomizer put them in the estimated folder
or rename the zip to "bootanimation.zip" and replace the original.
perhaps you can backup the original file as you wanna keep it
have fun
2 pics attached & 2 versions of the bootanimation
Good job, dude.
It would be great if u just make dodge logo only with some glows or something like that
Thanks man
So while I was waiting for my homemade slimrom to compile, I used my time to put together this boot animation.
Download link:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/yrommhqq68j5dy2/slimrom.zip
It's very, well, slim. Kind of keeps with the overall tone of Slimroms, I think.
I used gimp to create each frame, and then zipped them together with no compression. You are welcome to break down the zip if you would like to see the setup. Pretty simple really. While I am using it on my SGH-M919, with a 1080x1920 screen, the resolution of this animation is actually 480x800. Your phone should automatically center it on your screen, and in this case, undersizing it helps make it look even slimmer.
Be sure to rename it bootanimation.zip and drop it in your /system/media/ folder if you want to use it on your phone.
Another SlimRoms Boot Animation.
Well,
Provided you guys aren't getting tired of these, I made another Slim Roms boot animation. I use Gimp to make each frame, and then zip them together.
Download the Zip file:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/5kq2rn7ny1epmi7/SlimHD.zip
If you unzip the file, you will see two folders, part0 and part1, with each frame in it, sequentially numbered 1000.jpg, 1001.jpg, etc. You will also see the desc.txt file. These boot animation files are really simple. It is the artwork that is the hard part. Personally, I don't think art is my God given talent, but as long as he gives me the time to do it, I'm still learning how to make things that are fun and look good.
The ascii art was made by someone in the SlimRoms team, I didn't make that one. I simply used Gimp to edit it, swirl it, pinch it, and color it. Enjoy!
